I have been coming here a couple times a year since I moved here 13 years ago. I fell in love with their turkey/ cranberry sandwich when I first moved here. My fave thing though, is breakfast--the chorizo scramble in particular. And their sausage is great as well. The menu is expansive which in a way is great, but in others not so much. For example, I was so excited to see that they had latkes. I only ordered them once and never again. They had some sort of weird seasoning in them that I couldn't place and were overall hard. Not at all traditional latkes. Just because you have a wide variety of cuisines does not mean you can do them all well. Likewise, I was excited to see grits in the menu. I ordered them once--and had to send them back 3 times before they were cooked properly. Have not ordered them since. The long wait times are legendary--and real. Do NOT expect to pop in here for a bite before a movie or an appointment. You will not make it on time. The primary reason for my low review? Inconsistency. Sometimes the waits aren't too bad; other times horrendous. Sometimes service is great, other times horrible. And sometimes you show up during business hours and the owner says "I don't have a cook right now, and I don't know when he's getting here so...." (That happened.) Ogden's restaurant scene is not what it was 13 years ago. If Two Bit Street expects to stay open and stay competitive they need to up their game considerably. Too many excellent options in this city now--just on 25th Street alone, to say nothing of elsewhere downtown. This is just not a place that is worth it anymore. I can get an amazing sandwich at Even Stevens. I can get a killer breakfast at half a dozen other places. And without wondering whether or not if I show up it will be closed, or service will be bad, or I'll have to wait 45 minutes for my food. Kitsch only takes you so far. This place needs a major overhaul: trim the menu, hire some reliable and competent staff, cut wait times, and CLEAN the place. (Harley's and Bucks has old school charm, too, but it doesn't feel like I'm about to step on a rat trap when you walk in the joint.) Great breakfast in a warm, old school setting. I had a 4 egg omelette with my chosen ingredients and two bit toast, both were delicious and well crafted. I sampled my partner's smoked salmon Benedict and it had wonderful flavor. Our server, Carli, was friendly and attentive. I'll be back again. read more

We were starving and saw this place, so we went here for a late lunch. We were very disappointed. After we ordered it was a long wait for our food, and we were the only patrons in the place at the time. And the food was very dissatisfying. I probably should have known better than to order the tuna steak sandwich, but even the turkey cranberry sandwich that they recommended was just okay. How many of you like your old-tyme-y pubs along with your food? Or your historical flavor and museum type aspect to it? This is straight up my alley and in ambiance alone, I flat-out adored this place the second I walked in. If you like any of this stuff, you should go there for that aspect alone...but the food. Well, so they have Scotch Eggs. When I see these, I order them and this was one of the better versions I've had. I kind of wished I lived in O-town so I could hit this place and knock back a few pints of Guinness with a couple orders of these. That would be approaching perfection, I think, much like how these were done. I bet they are also one of the places that does a good - and correct - Guinness pour. I also had the calamari, which I found likable, but not at all in league with those succulent Scotch Eggs. They also have normal sandwiches, like the Turkey Cranberry, which I hear good things about and the Cuban, which also looked very promising, but I didn't even make it past the starters and in point of fact, I need to mine those more...if I can get past the Scotch Eggs...maybe I'll just need to bring my appetite on one of its more hearty days...I have high hopes for a fish and chips, but really, having a good Coke Zero mix was just icing at that point. This place had me by the heart as soon as I walked through the door and I enjoyed every second I was there. Came in around 2:30pm on a Wednesday. Service was friendly and quick. I got the " Cuban sandwich with house cut chips and slaw. The sandwich was just how I like it, just enough dijon mayo, pickle not to tart, cheese perfectly melted. House cut chips were thick cut and crunchy with just enough salt. If you happen to be in Ogden, you have to stop by this locally owned restaurant. Today I stopped in for dinner with my wife and friends. I have been here for brunch before. Atmosphere: Its diner-like running hall structure reminds one of a local candy shop from the 50's. It's located on historic main, so it feels very comfortable to stop by during the day or anytime at night. Also, there's a magician on site some of the days to perform magic while you eat or you can stop by the antique shop connected next door. Food: All around excellent. From the simple comfort burger to complex pasta entree to homebaked strawberry pie a la mode( from local ice cream makers, Farr). You also have to order the chocolate-sauerkraut. Yes, you heard what I said: a mixture of complex sweet and bitter flavors. Drinks: Order an old fashioned Sarsaparilla or something from the full liquor cabinet. FYI: The owner is vegetarian, so there are plenty of delicious options for the non-meat eaters. For meat-eaters, know that the owner is very conscious about food and takes the time to pick only the best meat available. Price: They have a special everyday of the week, so price should never be an issue. If you dont like the special, no worries there either. You can have a sandwich starting at ~$5 or get a full entree with soup/salad for ~$11. read more

Just to start, I'd love to love this place because it's on 25th, has a seemingly tasty menu, locally owned and operated however... I've been here a few times over the past couple years with very mediocre service. First time I was with the fam and waited over an hour for our lunch..and the place was empty, literally we were the ONLY customers in the building! Today I got take out, the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries and slaw (not provided with a to-go fork). This was the most poorly put together sandwich I believe I have ever purchased. It had little to no mustard, the ham and pork were slovenly slapped on the bread, I had to take it apart and reassemble before eating, and it looked like they ran out of pickles and used the last sheds in the bottom of the jar! I was going to call and complain but thought this may have a more lasting effect. NOT worth the $$ or time, this will be my last time as a patron here. read more

This place is amazing, I have not only had them cater for me several times, but I have actually had parties in they're cool old saloon style resturant. It's a great little place, food is always fresh and delicious. It may take a bit to get your food, so don't go if you are in a real hurry, but it's worth the wait. This place is a gem. The decor speaks for itself. The bloody Mary's are on point. The staff is so sweet and lovely, and the homemade corned beef hash ... Well I'm writing this as a ghost because it was so good I died right there. The price for 2 people at brunch with bloody Mary's was only 25 bucks!!! You can't beat that. The food here is always good, breakfast , lunch or dinner , but every time I go the service is obviously, bizarrely, and consistently bad. Been here three times in one year, and every time I go the staff is different and untrained. Meals come with no silver ware, servers disappear. And breakfast on the Sundays is a total shit show. Get in early because you will wait to be seated for so long its like you need a passport to get to a table. Food is worth the wait but you best have patience,it can get a little weird. read more

This funky bar/cafe is somewhere we have walked past forever - and have just never been in. Looking for somewhere different for weekend brunch we went in... and became fans! Being from across the pond, the Scotch Eggs were a must! And, oh boy, they were so good. I had the Brie and cranberry sandwich to follow, which was made from lovely cranberry bread. Wow were we surprised by the quality of the food. You walk in and it looks like any old diner but surprise! Really good, fresh food. We had lunch here on 03/09/2010. We split a tuna steak sandwich and each had a cup of the soup of the day, a tomato broth with pasta, beans, & spinach soup that was really good. The tuna steak was cooked just right and the condiments on the sandwich were intriguing. The sandwich came with sweet-potato fries that were worth a visit all by themselves. I had a side order of coleslaw -- the slaw seemed to fresh-cut (not out of a bag) and the dressing was pretty light and tangy, not the over-mayonnaise'd stuff you get at even white-tablecloth places. The first half of the service wasn't up to the food, but I gather the server was not only new, but new to restaurant work generally. She was pleasant enough, but just not too swift. If I lived in Ogden I'd try to have lunch or dinner here pretty regularly. read more

Funniest experience ever. Delicious food, good price. Hostess told us we'll have to wait. Got seated. Cook kept coming out rolling his eyes at all the people and the server. Warned us how many people were before us. He kept wishing people would stop coming in. We could see him in the back, chef had flare, and everything was made fresh. Hostess was server too, very nice to us and our baby. Everything took forever, but sounded like they were short a few people, and there was an arts festival in the area. Nice place. Went there for lunch and had great food. Great atmosphere. Much of the interior dates back to at least the 1920s. Cool photos on the walls of Ogden back in the day... We had lunch for two (ordered from the dinner menu), two draft beers (very good beer) and one iced tea. This is January, abnormally warm. After lunch we sat out front and had a couple more beers in the sun. Total bill around $55. They were very attentive, engaging and all around enjoyable. A very pleasurable experience. I stopped off at this place with family after seeing so many good reviews on yelp. We enjoyed lunch, three of us ordered of the lunch menu and one off the breakfast. It took about 30 minutes for us to receive our meal, however the food was hot and overall enjoyable. The bill came to a little over $30 with two beverages on the bill. Biscuits and gravy where OK, I've had better, but I've also had much worse. I prefer a little thicker sauce. There was plenty of sausage that's a bit spicy for some, but a nice taste for myself. Philly Cheese Steak is not your normal sandwich, it is made with the same ingredients however the steak is thicker cuts, very tender and flavorful. I myself prefer a more tradition sandwich, with shaved beef piled high. Brie Sandwich, looked absolutely amazing and I was told the presentation was just as good as the taste. Very disappointed. Walked in excited because it has 4 stars and seemed really nice. Waited 3 or 4 minutes for someone to seat us. The waiter seemed to be annoyed from the get go but brought us coffee quickly. We soon realized we had no silverware and when we waited for 5 minutes actually had to go ask for some and was told they ran out of clean silverware. We waited longer.. finally stood up and asked if we could have our order taken. The server I approached acted annoyed and found our actual server and said "we're good." And walked away. We sat down and had our order taken and immediately felt like we inconvenienced him. Decided to leave and let our server know. He replied with a blank face. Never going here again. I'm in the restaurant business and was completely willing to understand if there was a long wait but there was no apology or anything for their behavior. read more

While visiting the railroad museum and historic Main Street, we decided on 2 Bit for breakfast. They were playing some really good music while we walked past and was drawn to that. Plus, they had a steak & eggs special for $7.99; which is what my husband got. He was pleased. I got the chorizo, cactus and cheese scramble with tortillas. It was really good! The service was great, and the server even gave us a little history on the place, which was very interesting. I have passed by this place many times and never thought to stop in. I am not sure why i never did , perhaps i just needed a friend to assure me that it was amazing. Last weekend i was downtown getting photos with Santa at cafe mergo and we were starving after so we went to the closet place which so happens to be two bit street cafe. The inside is incredible and a lot of the original interior is still intact including a beautiful bar and swinging doors to the kitchen. The waitstaff was very attentive and brought my daughter crayons and paper so occupy her while we waited for food. I ordered the veggie Provencal, though next time i simply must get grilled brie, with sweet potato fries. The bread was toasted but still so fluffy and not at all hard and the balsamic was just sweet enough. The sweet potatoes were fabulous of course and creamy on the inside. While we were eating a young magician came over to show us a magic trick and i have to say i was quite impressed. I am not easily amused my magic but i thought his trick was quite clever and i still can not figure out how he did it. I can not wait to go back and try some of their other dishes and i do hope the magician is there again. read more

I've been here a couple of times, and while the food is quite good (and veggie/vegan-friendly), we probably won't be going back due to the service. We were there at 2pm on a Sunday and the place was packed. There was only one waitress, who was cordial but stressed. It took a half an hour just to get a coffee and a mimosa. The food took an additional 45 minutes. As we looked around the restaurant, all the customers appeared frustrated and impatient. It almost made you feel guilty when you did finally get your food. It seems that the kitchen simply isn't equipped for the number of people they can seat. It became readily apparent that they were preparing dishes for one table at a time. No wonder it took so long!
