The selection, I've found, is primarily geared toward a feminine clientele, though I myself have had no issue shopping there as a guy. (The owner did mention there are plans for a larger men's selection soon). The owner was very friendly and helpful. It is clear that she cares a lot about the local community and sustainable practices. This is also evident in the other local vendors, artists, and events frequently featured alongside the already large Velvet Sol assortment. Oaktree Treasures, for example, makes awesome upcycled handmade jewelry! All in all, Velvet Sol fits well within the Southside and greater downtown community. Its location at the corner of Butler and San Francisco St. is extremely convenient. I have already found myself stopping by to browse quite frequently. If you haven't had the opportunity yet, I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out especially for it's Grand Opening in April!

The owner (Dave) was incredibly hospitable and very patient as we looked through all of the offerings in his shop. He came up with an incredible suggestion to let us pick stamps from every country in this giant book of old stamps that he had. Many of the countries listed in the book do not exist any more and we basically got a free history lesson while looking at some beautifully designed stamps. At the end of it, we walked out with a mini-album of 182 stamps from all kinds of countries and eras! It was only $45 too and he cut us some slack on the exact counts (it was supposed to be 25 cents a stamp). I think this is an incredibly cool thing to do as a tourist and suggested it to Dave as an offering that he can extend to other tourists in the future as old, well-designed stamps are a treat for anyone's collection. I also purchased some old coins and some pristine quality US Mint proof sets in silver in birth year dates. Would strongly recommend to other folks visiting Flagstaff and it's a shame I'm not able to visit more often as it's truly an adult candy shop!

I can't wait to give them their books because they are super cute. CAB Comics is full of awesome comics, some nerdy shirts and everything you could want in a comic/tabletop hobby store. However, when I learned that they moved to Flagstaff Mall, I decided to take a trip there one afternoon with the kids. We went to Barnes & Noble as well as a handful of other stores. As others said, this mall leaves a bit to be desired with lots of empty retail space, but we managed to enjoy our time there. Pros: -There is plenty of parking surrounding the mall. -The location is easy to access and it is right across the street from the Harkins movie theater -There is a decent food court -The mall offers a handful of stores that were appealing to me and my kids including B&N, Famous Footwear, Lids, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, GameStop, etc... -There are also some kiosks, cell phone stores, etc... As mentioned above, the cons are really that it's a very small mall with empty space. There also seemed to be some shady characters hanging around, but I think you get that with most malls these days.
