The mall on the JCPenny side had a lot of vacant space. There are not a large amount of stores. I was looking for hiking boots and there wasn't much to pick from even though there were three shoe shops. For outdoor gear, Downtown is a better bet. However, there's enough variety of stores to browse around for a while. Down the road is a Harkins cineplex.

All malls are a bit sad, this is the only mall here in Flagstaff and it had a couple of interesting items that almost made me go full four on it...however it is still a mall. It seemed nice enough (again for a mall) but I probably wouldn't shop here a lot since the stores and other places here just don't draw me.

Internet is very speedy. Got 20Mbps download for a good 30 min straight. Food court also has 110v outlets to plug into.

Pretty slim pickings! Visited a few stores and spent a few bucks but nothing really compares to Tucson or Phoenix malls.

Nothing fancy about this mall as there are only 3 major department stores: Dillard's, Sears, and JC Penny.

This is definitely a one stop place to shop. Aspen Place has a great ski town vibe and comes to life during the holidays with an amazing Christmas tree in the center surrounded by a huge fireplace. It hosts a great little bar and nearby Whole Foods. The only downside to this place is that it is impossible to find parking. Pro tip there is a little know covered parking place for those rainy/snowy days. Take your shopping list and knock it out all in one day.

Definitely not filled to capacity and looks like a few places didn't make it, but to have a Coldwater Creek or Wildflower Bread Co is kind of a big deal. New Frontiers (natural foods grocery store) relocated here as well. Nice potential. Taken from their website: A combined retail and residential project situated on nearly 40 acres in the heart of Flagstaff, Arizona, Aspen Place at The Sawmill brings casual sophistication and urban lifestyle to a higher elevation. Named in honor of the Stone Forest Sawmill that once occupied the area, Aspen Place at The Sawmill is transforming Flagstaff's industrial downtown corridor into a picturesque place to live, work and play. "Casual sophistication?" "Urban lifestyle?" Flagstaff? Really? What they don't tell you is the old sawmill is now the new jail. In any case, good for Flagstaff. I'm happy for any business that can actually get in there. Funny how the majority of people that block any kind of residential or business development there are all relative newcomers to the area. I guess once they moved in, they think the door should slam shut behind them. Five stars for marketing and effort, three stars for current occupancy based on Flagstaff's overall retail experience.

I loved this shop when Brennan was manager, but since Stephen took over, things have gone downhill fast. This place employs people who hold and express white supremacist views. One employee once told me outright that if he got a wife, he "didn't want property" -- making it crystal clear he sees people with melanin as less than human. The staff is entirely white, and that attitude shows. I was eventually banned after showing an accurate historical depiction of Yehoshua (Jesus) as a Black man. Stephen, the new manager, took issue with that and has been looking for a reason to get rid of me ever since. The official reason given was "Poor treatment of Geekery Patrons as viewed by staff" -- every single friend I've asked disagrees completely. If you're not white and/or not a regular customer, they'll undercut you whether you're selling your cards for cash or trading them in for store credit -- typically by about 10% -- and pocket the difference. This is primarily a Magic: The Gathering shop, and they genuinely do not care about Pokémon, One Piece, Gundam, or Flesh & Blood. If you play anything other than Magic, you're an afterthought here. It's always been like that and I don't think they will change... The store is also not child friendly. I repeatedly had to remind people to stop cursing around kids. Staff never stepped in to handle it. On top of everything else, their pricing has gotten worse. They used to sell at MSRP, but now they charge market price on items -- which is usually double what you should be paying. Cab Comics up the street has much better prices and is a far more welcoming environment overall. Cab Comics treats everyone the same, they don't give special treatment to those only read/buy comics or just white people... I wouldn't recommend selling cards here, and I wouldn't recommend spending your time or money in a place that treats non-white people this way.

As a fan of dice, I spent most of my time here at The Geekery staring at the dice. My husband was mesmerized by the MTG and other trading cards they had. The employees were able to answer his questions, which he tends to have a lot when it comes to his collectibles. The store was well organized and the prices were pretty standard from what I see at game stores. We are both glad we stopped by The Geekery.
