I ordered the millionaire burger open faced and was blown away by how great it tasted. The fries were good and love skin on fries, but a little too done and salty for my taste. The Oreo shake was awesome, it felt light when I held it. Twisted Root makes a damn good burger; it's as simple as that. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly which results in a totally satisfying indulgence. They also do things I've never seen another burger joint do such as offer a variety of patty choices (game meats, beef, a veggie patty, or even a hot dog) and free pickle bar. When we went the pickle flavors were atomic, sweet and spicy, bread and butter, dill, and ranch. Did I mention they even make their own root beer?! Yep, they rock. Creativity is certainly not something they lack and their ordering system proves that. Instead of giving you a number, you get a famous name they call when your grub is ready. This time they gave us Dirk Diggler which cracked me up. They use judgement when handing out names so not to fear. If you come with kids they will give you a different one that won't leave you explaining what an AVN award is. I built my own burger and went classic with beef, lettuce, onion, tomato and their chipotle ketchup. What I call classic my husband calls boring but alas, it was delicious. He got the Western which looked great too with a beef patty, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, bacon, and fried onion strings. I also highly recommend their house made sweet potato chips and shakes. I've never tried a shake myself because I'm too full by the end, but I've been with people who have and it's always rave reviews all around. The burgers are cooked Medium Well so let the worker know you want it cooked a different way! I ordered the Enough Said which consisted of their house made potato chips, bacon ranch, and cheese. My burger was really good. The chips gave each bite a perfect crunch and the bacon ranch complimented my burger. We ordered onion strings on the side. The batter on the onions strings was really good but a little on the salty side. They have a pretzel bun here if you want to switch out the sesame bun but unfortunately they were out the day we came in. I'll have to come back! read more

Alright, Twisted Root in Bedford. You're brand spankin' new and word on the streets is that you need to work out a few issues before you'll really shine. But I visited on a Saturday and think you're doing fabulously! First of all, it was absolutely packed when I came in. I thought that if I went around 2:30, maybe the lunch crowd would have died down a bit. No siree, the line was seriously almost out the door. At times like this, there's a fat chance you'll be able to park out front in their small lot, so you have to park in the shopping center behind and take a baby hike to the door. But no big deal! What's awesome about Twisted Root is the super fun, casual, everyone's-friends vibe they've got buzzing. That long line moves quickly and your food is announced within 5-10 minutes. I went with 4 friends and we ordered a variety of burgers; turkey, beef with mushrooms and swiss, beef with blue cheese, and I got the spicy goat "burger bowl"! The spicy goat is dang spicy, watch out! But so, so good. The cold, creamy goat cheese pairs beautifully with the fiery bbq sauce. Everything was awesome. Cooked well, bold flavors, fresh crunchy toppings, and hot, fresh fries. We also ordered the sweet potato chips, which were great. Don't expect crunchy, salty, greasy potato chips; these are made in house so they're a bit soft, but not stale. Next time I go, I think I'll grab a cider or a cocktail to wash down the beef. Twisted Root is brilliant for being a burger joint with a full bar. And of course, they have a million game meats on their menu, which makes them stand out. Over $25. Yikes! This better be far better than Whataburger or MacDonald's. We got our drinks and a table while we waited for our meal. My butterscotch root beer tasted like plain root beer but was good. We opted to sit inside which seems to have less seating than outdoors, where most were sitting. OK for now but it will soon be super hot on all that sunny concrete. Not all the seats are shaded. Also sitting next to a super busy intersection with traffic noise and fumes does not appeal to me. Well, back to waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more. Cheaper burger spots are a lot faster. We watched several who came after us get their food. Wait some more. Finally half was ready....what? Eventually I got my order. Toasted bun is nice. Burger OK but greasy. Onion strings a messy, greasy glop with coating falling off and one misplaced fried pickle buried in the mess. Fries OK. Over $25 for the food? Not worth it for what we had. Perhaps some of the specialty burgers would be better but chances are I won't be going back to find out. A couple other notes: The parking is extremely limited for the size of the restaurant. Staff was friendly, acted like they enjoyed their jobs, and seemed more plentiful than the service we received would suggest. We observed lots of tattoos, body piercings, unusual hair styles. 5/30/16: First time visiting a Twisted Root restaurant. Friends would tell me while the burgers are "ok," they are not worth $10. After ordering the "Lots-a-Shroom" burger with the sweet potato chips, I would agree. The chips were stale and the burger was not seasoned. Bun was not grilled, although I don't know if it's marketed as such. I was going to order a burger with bacon; however, while placing my order, I noticed bacon in a steel container just behind the cash register. It appeared to be days old. Because of that, I switched my order. I also noticed the grill where the burgers are prepared; from my vantage point, it appeared to be laden with grease. Upon approaching the front door of the restaurant, there were visible handprints along the length and width of the doors. Will I return to this location? Probably not. I'll visit another location before deciding if I'll write Twisted Root off altogether. read more

We ordered The Western burger with Bison. It was SUPER good! Really tender and juicy. People who complaining about the grease: make yourself a fat free burger at home. Beef has fat. Because it's beef. They have a lot of different meat choices, which I thought was cool. They also have 13 special burgers, which range from $7-9 in price. A basic half pound cheeseburger is $6.75, so I don't know why everyone is freaking out about the prices. Maybe because they don't come with a drink or a side. Sides are under $3, and drinks are $2. I had the Butterscotch Root Beer mixed with black cherry. It was delicious. They also had $2 drafts on a Friday Night, that was awesome. I also got an $8 adult milkshake, Creme de Menthe. OMG. I COULD DRINK THIS FOREVER. The name calling system is hilarious. "Mr. Incredible, your food is getting lonely, sir" The staff was awesome, happy, quick, friendly, unique and awesome. Management is really great too! The kind of management that checks on you while you eat. Love that! We will DEFINITELY be back. Probably too much, since we just moved a couple miles away. I love all things banana and that flavor was definitely there, but I thought the Bailey's was a little overpowering. Is there such thing as "too much" liquor? Ehh, most times I'd say no () - but in this case, it was a little too heavy and threw off the flavor. The (free) pickle tubs are a pretty neat addition, as well! Not a safe place to eat if you value your health. Twice I've eaten at the bar and watched them sweep the floor w\out covering the condiments. Saw a barback put on gloves to pickup the rubber floor matt's & sweep under them, then with the same gloves and a rag laying on the counter he wiped down the pickle station! After he finished he put the floor mats back down & still with the same pair of gloves, he began to wipe down tables. The men's bathroom toilet was 'out of order' as well as out of paper towels.
