We are so lucky to have Twisted Biscuit here in Cville! They can be found at many if it believed breweries, cideries, vineyards and other hot spots but be sure to look up their schedule! They always have a delicious and ever changing menu with different types of choices, not just their amazing biscuits! First though, the Clucker sandwich, yum! Crispy chicken breast in between a soft but buttery topped biscuit baked to perfection. Mayo and picked round it out but it's such a yummy sandwich no matter what's on it! I wish I tried their dessert that day but we'll be back.

The new Twisted Biscuits food truck stopped by my apartment so I had to try it out! They had a great varied menu but was definitely drawn to the Dirty Bird which features house made pimento cheese and bacon gravy. Food came out fast and was especially impressed by the biscuit, so soft and fluffy and not dense at all!

The Clucker! I spread it open, for you to get a better look.

We stopped in at the holiday market, in Forest Lakes and this was the first truck we walked by...well we didn't really walk by it, we stopped. I got the Clucker, with no pickles and wow what a biscuit. There is a LOT of biscuit but man was it yummy. We will definitely be looking for this food truck, at future central Virginia events.

Thank you for another AWESOME food truck. I had the opportunity to swing by the truck when they were at Terrace Green in Ruckersville. They were there from 9-2. We stopped around 1 to pick up lunch. We picked up lunch for our family of four. We got two Dirty Birds, one Smokey Hen, and one Green Gobbler. Three came as combos and the Green Gobbler got an extra biscuit. My Dirty Bird was awesome. The chicken was tender and juicy. I was worried it was going to be dark meat, but it was chicken breast. The pimento cheese had a great flavor, but the star of the show was the bacon gravy! I love that they use bacon gravy instead of sausage gravy. I believe the bacon gravy flavor is far superior. All of those together made a perfect sandwich. I will admit that I had to finish with a fork because the gravy was coming out, but I think that is just because we got it to go and didn't eat it on site. The cajun fries were perfectly cooked. Not a wedge and not a curly cue, they were somewhere in the middle. I didn't get the cajun flavor, but they were great either way. The Smokey Hen looked really good, no one wanted to share, but that is a good thing for The Twisted Biscuit. Overall TB brings culinary background to the food truck scene. Both owners are culinary school trained, one with previous experience at the Ivy Inn. If you haven't been there, check it out on Yelp. I don't know about you, but I'm glad he made the move! I look forward to more breakfasts and lunches with TB.

Destination Food Truck! Love these biscuit sandwiches! Biscuits hold together well and support their hefty portions. So glad I caved and got the scone of the day. Apple cinnamon scone was AMAZING! They gave me 2 in an order with a topping that is to die for! I took one home and warmed it up the next day, incredible again! Thanks Twisted Biscuit!

I'm mentioning this because the amount of breakfast places with shit coffee is wild. So not only good food, but excellent coffee. Brioche French toast bananas foster - the bananas foster syrup was the bomb. Nutella and Strawberry Crepes - they were huge and so good! Chicken and Waffles- fried crispy bone in chicken is yue only way to go. My teen son eat every crumb. Avocado Toast with egg and smoked salmon - my husband loved it. Avocado Egg Bake - cooked perfectly and so good. Buttermilk pancakes for fluffy and great flavor. They offer real maple syrup, bananas foster syrup if you're fancy and then regular (fake) syrup.

Make a reservation, but there's also a little grab and go spot right when you walk in. Breakfast cocktails were yummy! I didn't feel guilty having a chocolate espresso martini for breakfast:) Bananas Foster Beignets was ridiculous! Benedict options were so unique. I recommend asking questions to make sure you're getting what you want. Hindsight I would have added protein to the green tomato Benedict. We also got a bowl that was much more like a salad and not like a hearty bowl. All were delicious, just not what was expected. We would return for sure!

The bar, front desk, valet and pool just steps away. The staff were like family and accommodations very comfortable. Many thanks to Antonio at the desk/valet, Tyler the bar manager and Tyler Cupec Director of Rooms for making it a trip worthy of a not only a 5 star review but also a future return as well.

Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
