A necessary stop for anyone visiting Charlottesville. The bagels are made fresh every day and are delicious. Lots of spread options and the bagel sandwiches are fantastic. My personal favorite is the seasoned tofu. The place is always busy and for good reason. read more

Wanted to see what the hype was all about with these bagels. Bodo's has 3 locations in town, but I picked one that had a large parking lot. This location is also quite large inside. The tables and carpet could use more frequent cleaning, but customer service was friendly. Though they were busy, they took my order quickly and my egg & cheese on whole wheat bagel was out within a few minutes. I was looking forward to trying the local no bull patty, but was told they no longer have this option. I liked my sandwich, but it would have been better with some type of sauce to offset the dry bagel. I will try the egg salad sandwich next visit. read more

This place has all but convinced me to name my first born Bodo. It is the BEST bagel spot I have ever been to. My ONLY complaint is that there are no gluten free bagels because I'd love for my mother to try their food. It's a cozy, delicious, and consistent option in the Charlottesville area. read more

Long line which I guess is normal. We enjoyed what we had but not sure I'd go out of my way for that line again. The line did move fast and service was pretty quick. We had to stake out a table but the inside was also packed. It was a weekend. We had sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel it was good. read more

While my first experience at Bodo's wasn't the greatest, I've since fallen in love with their bagels and quick service! Great option for a weekend (or weekday) breakfast sandwich, especially if I'm going during off-hours to avoid the line. Their multigrain bagel is not my fave but all the other options are great, and I love a basic bacon, egg, and cheese. This is a no-frills place ambiance-wise and I usually take my order to go. However, there is a decent amount of seating, and parking too. They're surprisingly fast, even during the morning rush. read more

Stopped in because I heard this was a Charlottesville institution & got a dozen (half everything, half everything wheat) bagels & tub of the jalapeño lime cream cheese for the trip home for less than $20. Not bad at all for $1.05/bagel for dozen+. The bagels have a nice chew with great seasonings. This location looks like it was previously a McDonald's or something. I stayed in what I thought was a drive through but was actually just a line of cars parked. No worries either way, service inside was quick & friendly enough. read more

Bodos is just as good as I remember. My old faves are still amazing! All of their bagels are great and their herb cream cheese is my favorite! I also enjoy their pastrami sandwich on a plain bagel with horseradish and a bunch of other toppings. LOVE YOU BODOS! read more

Didn't let my bulldog in the facility, he wasn't bothering no one. He was overheating because they made us wait outside. Rude people working there On top of that, the bagels are a little worse than mid. One of the worst lox I've had, bagels have no flavor. If you want a real good bagel go to "the lox" in Columbus, Ohio. That's real bagel. Bad experience here will not be coming back read more

Sometimes you go to a place that just fits you so perfectly you feel at home and in heaven at the same time. Bodo's bagels offers authentic, freshly made bagels in a vareity of delicious flavors. And they offer a selection of traditional Jewish sandwiches made on their bagels. Like pastrami, corned beef, and even chopped liver. I had chopped liver, onion and tomato on a salt bagel. This is when I wish I could rate a place 6 on the 5 point scale. Service is super efficient and amazing. I had said liverwurst when I meant chopped liver and they changed the order on the spot smoothly. Ambience is clean and open. Go. Just go now. It is amazing!! read more

Efficient, fast, and friendly service! The coffee was freshly brewed and the bagels were perfectly made-to-order. I personally enjoyed the lox and cream cheese with tomato, red onion, and lettuce, but I'm sure any of their many, many options are great! read more

The best. I mean really that's all you need to know. There can be lines but they also move quickly here. There are lots of options beyond just bagel and cream cheese. Our overall favorite is the tuna with watercress, lettuce, tomato and onion. However we did try one with the herb cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, pepper spread and watercress on whole wheat everything. It was good and a great vegetarian option. The tuna is still the favorite. read more

Best deal in town, the prices can't be beat! I'm loyal to the garlic bagel but mix it up between the chicken salad (they use turkey) and the honey pecan cream cheese. Recently tried the capocolla with lettuce tomato and onion and I think that may be my new lunch order. Even if the wait is long the line moves quick. Bodo's is very popular in Charlottesville for good reason. The bagels are fresh and tasty, and their assortment of toppings is exceptional. On my most recent visit, I ordered the egg everything bagel with egg and bacon. I realized after the fact that I probably should've ordered cheese on it as well, but it was good as-is. I also ordered a bagel with blueberry cream cheese, as well as a side of their herbed cream cheese to go. You can't really go wrong with whatever you order here. Service is friendly; the line is long but efficiently organized. read more

Take Out Review: Even though the line was almost out the door, it moved quickly, and it wasn't long before I was on my way. I will say that inside there was plenty of seating in case you wanted to eat in. The bagels were good. Like really good. But the breakfast bagel I got was missing something that didn't quite make it the 5 stars I hoped it would be. Regardless, I added a bit of hot sauce and devoured the whole thing. This place is super popular, so make sure you give it a try. I'm going with a 4.5 rounded up, maybe next time I come in and try one of the other bagel sandwiches it'll hit the spot. read more

Jameson: I ordered a bacon egg and cheese and it was delicious. Very fast delivery of food. Customer service was could use some work. Wesley: The cinnamon raisin with honey and butter was exquisite. The style of decor and interior adds to it. Ambience and music could use some work. Bella: Immediately when I arrived I was gripped by the fact that the line was out of the door. I thought to myself, "wow this must be a GREAT bagel!" However my experience was somewhat thwarted by the ordering experience, I was somewhat confused on what I wanted however felt rushed to order. There were so many really great options that I was so overwhelmed and quickly order a plain bagel with turkey, egg, and sprouts. Good bagel, nothing special though, however I believe it was more of a user error. I would have maybe gotten a spread to add more flavor. Would definitely come back, and maybe be more prepared with my order!! Fia: From the moment I stepped foot into Bodo's Bagels, I was inspired by the abstract, creative environment. The menu had a variety to choose from, which personally was not an ideal for me but is for most people. The customer service could have been friendlier but the speed at which they got the bagels out made up for it. I was amazed by how quickly they made my bagel, despite the amount of orders. My everything bagel with bacon and egg was incredible. The glossy crust was a clear representation of the New York style bagels. It was obvious that the boil before bake method was used. Thank you Bodo bagels for the experience. Although, I hope that whenever I come next, the speakers are on read more

Such a great bagel shop!!! Stopped by on Sunday late morning and even though there was a line it moves quickly. Also once you order they have a very efficient system of getting you your food and drinks. Inside there is lots of seating and it was packed. We got our food to-go, so didn't have to worry about getting a seat. Now onto the food and drinks: Everything bagel with honey pecan cream cheese was so good!!! Husband enjoyed a cinnamon raisin with butter. Also the chicken salad (they use turkey) was so good on a sesame bagel! The chicken salad has great flavor and I had lettuce and tomato on it and it was so good! Husband had s coffee and I had a lemonade! I see why everyone loves Bodo's, it's just freaking delicious. As a first timer I was confused as to where the line started since there were sooooo many people ordering/waiting. Once you figure that you the line moves very quickly. Since the menu is bagels and sandwiches the food is also prepared pretty quickly. I love that they make the bagels fresh throughout the day, so they seemed to be well stocked. I went for a classic everything bagel with plain cream cheese (that they make in house) and it did not disappoint. My friend got their lox with herb cream cheese and loved it as well. Best bagel shop in Charlottesville! Everything is fresh, never frozen. They don't ever toast because their bagels come out WARM. The prices? Amazing. They've got such a variety of food and drinks to choose from. Flavored cream cheeses, meats, juice, and coffee. There's a fantastic space for sitting down to eat, or you can grab it to go. There's a huge parking lot available as well. Just make sure to get there early, because they do have a line that forms pretty quickly. read more

This is definitely a 3.5 star joint but it doesn't quite deserve the 4th star, so I have to round down to 3. They advertise as authentic NY water boiled bagels. I'll give them this-they are as close as you'll get in this area. I was impressed with the amount of seeds on my poppy bagel-less so on my everything. And they were definitely water boiled, but whether it was something about their dough recipe or perhaps just the VA vs NY water, they weren't the same as a NY bagel. We both got an everything bagel with egg and cheese and their veggie nobull patty. It was a bit disappointing as we were expecting a veggie sausage but it was more like a veggie burger. Still, it was a decent breakfast sandwich. The poppy bagel with cream cheese that we shared was more satisfying. They also get points off for not having any alternative milks. You have a veggie patty, so clearly you have considered vegetarians, but bagels are generally a breakfast food and you don't consider plant based milks? Not a single container of soy or almond or oak? I call that a fail. Still, it's a decent facsimile of a NY bagel. Had they stocked a plant based milk then I might have rounded up, but I just can't quite get to the 4th star. read more

Bodo's is the classic morning bite to eat in Charlottesville. The UVA bucket list tradition is to get the #1 order of the day, and I admittedly have yet to do so. Luckily, there are three locations in the area, so you could be one of the lucky three! My usual order is the BLT on everything, which always hits the spot. The portions are also quite sizable for a sandwich bagel, so it's usually filling with just one. Popular items include breakfast sandwiches or classic bagels with cream cheese, which have multiple offerings from cinnamon, strawberry, classic, and more. P.S. They don't toast the bagels! They're already too fresh! read more

Wasn't a big fan. Don't quite get the hype. Got a whole wheat bagel w lox and cream cheese. Every time I come into C'Ville, this place is hopping! It was my first time coming as a vegan, so I wasn't sure what to expect. For anyone coming for the tofu option, they won't have that for a bit (stopped manufacturing right now). I would also say, as a vegan, I wouldn't come for breakfast (really limited options), but it's a solid lunch spot! I got the "No Bull," which is a local lentil burger, on an Everything Bagel, with hummus, guac, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. They did NOT skimp on the Guac, which I did really enjoy. But, I would ask management, pleaseeee please get a vegan cream cheese! You come to a bagel shop really wanting that classic bagel and cream cheese, and that was very missed in my experience. I think it would do well in this community, and really hope it's available in my next stop to my old stomping grounds! Yall don't need me to tell you Bodo's is still the best deal in town with their decades old tradition of unique & delicious bagels with every imaginable spread & deli offering. Today I'm here to announce that Bodo's shrimp & corn bisque is possibly the BEST SOUP I'VE EVER HAD. The shrimp is chunky & fresh; corn is corny & the bisque is decadent. My only note would be: I think once delicious chunks of potato are included, I consider it a chowder. Potato, potato, indeed ;) thanks Bodo's. Bodo's Blogels. One of the one and only Bagel Shops and chains in C-ville. I may have been spoiled with the bagel shop variety in NYC, but when everyone hyped this placed up as a solid bagel place in Charlottesville, I know I had to try. After my first visit, I have been back ever since. I love their herbs cream cheese and jalapeno cream cheese which all pair well with the everything bagel. Lines on weekends and mornings before football and baskeball game days are out the door and into the street. I woudl recommend coming here in the off hours. I have also trieed their BEC-als (Bacon Egg and Cheese Bagels) which are pretty solid. While reasonably affordable, they do lack the size and quality you can get in NYC. NOTE THEY DO NOT TOAST BAGELS. Overall, a very very solid 4.5 stars. read more

Every website lists Bodo's Bagels as a place you must visit while in Charlottesville. As someone from New York, I was pretty skeptical about how good these bagels actually could be. I arrived at 10am on Saturday morning and there was a line out the door. Don't let that deter you though, because within 10 minutes I was able to make my way to the front and order, and just 5 minutes later my bagel sandwich was ready. They don't have a huge selection of bagels, but they have the classics and they make them well. The list of spreads and things you can put on your bagel is much larger, and everything is so reasonably priced. I enjoyed my bagel and it definitely had the flavor and texture of a New York bagel, without making me feel like I needed a nap after (which NY bagels always do). There's lots of indoor seating at this location, as well as a drive through. Will definitely be back! read more
