I finally got to personally visit Twisted Mac, the new restaurant located within the Crestview Village shopping center. I stopped by earlier today to see about ordering a Mac and cheese casserole for a potluck for later. I was happily welcomed by the manager, Russell. He was able to put together a large order of their smoked macaroni and cheese and stated everything is made from scratch and made to order. I noticed there were a lot of Jr. High kids there, and they said they enjoyed hanging out there to get an after-school snack too. I returned later in the afternoon to pick up my order. I am not usually a macaroni and cheese person, but this dish was delicious and does not even compare to the boxed macaroni and cheese.

I was craving mac and cheese so we visited Twisted Mac for brisket mac, a meatball sub and a delicious chocolate cake dessert. The place is light, clean, inviting and the service was outstanding. We will be back!

Stopped by Twisted Mac for dinner tonight the service was amazing! The employees were very friendly and personable . We ended up ordering the smoked mac and then the brisket Mac. Very good! The smoked Gouda was delicious and then the brisket was falling apart. Will definitely be going back! Can't wait to try the appetizers and another Mac n cheese option!

Food was great. Had the Cacio e Pepe Mac and Cheese (I skipped the chicken). It was a huge portion and it was so good! Lots of options here and owner was so nice!

Pesto Mac & Cheese

Found this place on a whim when my friend and I were looking for somewhere new to eat. And who doesn't LOVE mac & cheese??? It's located in a very unassuming spot in the shopping center, right next to Big 5. The location could use a bigger sign for awareness. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. There were a couple of people waiting for what looked like to-go orders. The overall ambiance is quaint and very clean. They also have s couple of tables outside. We asked the employee for a recommendation as well as his favorite item, and he said it was the BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese. My friend went for that option while I ordered the Pesto Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious. We liked the addition of the pickles in the Brisket Mac & Cheese. My Pesto Mac & Cheese also came with chicken and had great flavor! The portions are big... we both took our leftovers home with us. I will definitely go back so I can try some other items on the menu!

Barbecue chicken mac & cheese to go.

I just tried twisted Mac. The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the barbecue brisket, mac & cheese and barbecue chicken mac & cheese. I would absolutely recommend this new restaurant. It's right next to big five on Manzanita. There is just a tiny little sign above the door. You have to really look for it but it's worth it. The Owner Russell was super nice.

I do have one suggestion. I completely understand and appreciate the elevated vibe they're going for--it's part of what makes the place special. That said, I think there may be a bit of a missed opportunity with the bocce ball courts. There are large signs saying kids can't play on them and must stay with adults, but honestly, I come here at least once a quarter and they're often not being used. Given the location and the number of families in the area, it could be interesting to consider adding a small playground in the back. I know that might sound unconventional for a place like this, but I've seen restaurants do this successfully in Europe. What's really missing around here is a place where parents can enjoy an incredible meal and drinks while their kids have a safe place to play nearby. Right now, the only places that come close are breweries. There are almost always families here when I visit, so just a thought! Either way, Shangri-La remains one of my favorite spots.

Great about of spice from the gochujang aioli. The radish, cucumber and cilantro balanced it out. Partner had the Shang burger. While a booth would be preferable as they can accommodate a group our size, those are prized on Trivia night. This evening, staff brought an additional four stools to the bar so we could all sit. They were out of the "Jackrabbit done gone working(?) Pilsner" so, I ordered the lager. On the special list was a rib eye, but I didn't care for the sides (garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus), so I went with the New York off the main menu which included herbed butter, mashed potatoes, heirloom tomato with crumbled gorgonzola. Steak was done to medium rare perfection, potatoes delicious and I very much enjoyed the tomatoes. Katie ordered a salad, She and JJ shared her margarita pizza. It was huge. We brought some home. Didn't see what the others ordered but all enjoyed their food and drinks. Trivia here is a ton of fun. Friends have hired the emcee for private gatherings. The stress over seating may have us seeking out another venue.

I usually grab a seat at the bar. It's got that fun, mellow energy that makes it a great place to chill and catch up. The service is consistently solid, and everything just feels easy and relaxed. This time around, we hit up the happy hour menu and ordered a few appetizers. The nachos were solid, but the cheese bread stole the show. So. Freaking. Good. Totally worth the carb splurge (even if tomorrow me might have some regrets... today me has zero). If you're into low key spots that check all the boxes without trying too hard, this one's definitely worth checking out
