I've been coming to Jochi for years but have never done a review and it's long overdue. My go-tos…read morefor Filipino food for sure in San Diego are a certain place in Nat'l City that has a "Kitchenette" and Jochi. As far as Jochi I've never been disappointed with their food. Everything has always been delicious. I think the key to a Filipino joint is the turnaround of food. Usually there's a line of people waiting to get their food so the cooks are always churning out freshly cooked food. The key is to not have the food just sitting for a long time and that is the case at Jochi. For this recent trip I got a plate that includes either rice or pancit and 2 items. I got half and half of rice and pancit an pinakbet as my 1st item and sisig as my 2nd. Both the pinakbet and sisig here have always been some of my favorites. Both are full of flavor and never disappoint. Also, Jochi's portions are always huge! This day I ate at the restaurant and for sure I had leftovers. I almost forgot to mention that I asked for a complimentary sabow (soup). It's the soup from their sinigang. As they ladle the soup into the container they sometimes (usually) includes chunks of pork which is very much appreciated. Jochi will always have a customer in me. Also, whenever I need a bunch of anything for a party like lumpia, empanadas, pancit, sisig, or anything else I always go to Jochi.

I have a loved one in a nursing facility in North San Diego and the staff there provide the kind of compassionate care that comes with dignity. After experiencing another facility that was so heartbreaking it left me questioning everything. I wanted to do something meaningful to thank this incredible team. A card didn't seem like enough. Flowers fade. But good food? Good food creates memories. I ordered the sisig, pancit, and their famous signature lumpia rolls, along with pandesal from Valerio's. Ordering was a breeze. I placed my order at 9:30 a.m. and picked everything up at 4:00 p.m. Three small trays turned out to be an incredible amount of food. I planned for 10 people, but it fed a whole lot more as many from different units gathered to share. The moment that sealed it for me happened before a single tray was opened. A nurse I had never met walked over and said, "Oh, you went to Tita's. I recognized their lumpia." That gave me chills because I knew I had chosen the right place. The food tasted like it came straight from Mamasan's kitchen, authentic, comforting, and made with love. Staff members kept stopping by to thank us, and my only conidition, "Make a plate for the receptionist. He's awesome too." That is what great food does. It creates connection. If you're feeding family, friends, coworkers, or an entire care team, Tita's Kitchenette delivers more than delicious Filipino food. They help you show appreciation in a way people will remember. We were in the Point Loma area close to SD airport and Tita's was about 10 mins away. Getting there was a maze freeway wise and when we got there, while the line was out the door, moved quickly. We ordered several combos and from what I can recall beefsteak, pancit, adobo, lumpia, sinigang and menudo/caldereta were all deeelicious and just like what you'd expect at a filipino party- but better. Staff here were all friendly and helpful. Love Tita's and look forward to returning!

I'm not super familiar with the area but with all the good food option, I'll be back to check it out! I went there for the food but my eyes had stars in them when I saw the customizable halo halo. They have a nice display of the ice cream flavors as well as other snacks for purchase. I had to pass up the desserts this time and headed to the register to order dinner. The guy working there was great and also mentioned we could order at the kiosk which had pictures of each dish. I'm a little particular about my Filipino food and was so happy to find pancit bihon. I ordered this along with chicken adobo and pork lumpia. The prices were pretty decent, and the portion size for the pancit was huge. Let me tell you, everything was so tasty and it really hit the spot!

I was torn between the tortuga ninja and the breakfast mexipino. Decided to go with the mexipino sandwich and the ube pancake. Ube pancake - served on a pizza plate. Wow factor lol. The pancake was good, however i felt it could have used a macapuno syrup or something coconutty to complement the ube. The drizzle they put on it was good and i asked for extra and it boosted the flavor. This can probably feed 4-5 people depending on how hungry you are. Mexipino sandwich - this was good enough to split. I loved the savory and sweetness and saltiness. All the flavors complimented one another and i did a happy food dance. Calamansi mint drink - it was just ok for me. Reminds me of the calamansi drink from the pouches and they just added mint. It was too sweet for me so i probably wouldn't order again. It's not a big spot but they do have a lot of seating. The staff on duty were really nice. I want to come back to try the tortuga ninja sandwich. They do have high chairs for the little ones. Unsure of the restroom since we didnt use it. Plenty of free parking since this is in a strip mall.

The place offers an excellent, adobo-ish chicken and waffles; a weird-ass combination of great tastes called "Mexipino Hash"; and a super-refreshing drink made with calamansi and mint, which, to this former bartender and current fat man, makes perfect sense.
