My kids school hosted a Spring Fling carnival yesterday and Frida's Cocina was one of the food trucks there. I ordered the special two tacos with chips for $8. I choose the carne asada tacos. It was late afternoon and they weren't busy yet so I got my order really fast. My paper boat only had the tacos so I filled it up with the tortilla chips that were on the table. The salsas for dipping came in big bottles and I filled two of the tiny cups with the red salsa. The tacos were sooo good!!! The meat was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I usually put hot sauce on my tacos but I didn't put anything on this time for two reasons: 1. the tacos were perfect the way they were 2. The red sauce was actually pretty nasty... bitter and spicy. I hope to see this food truck around again... I would like to try all the other items they have. I wanted to order more yesterday but we had to go and the line had gotten so long by the time we left at 6 p.m.

My brother in law had Frida's Cocina Food Truck cater his birthday party! It was delicious and the service was amazing! I love how it's a family ran business and their daughter was helping out. Our guests had a blast and were so in awe. They had tacos (beef, chicken and fish), beans, rice, chips, sodas and even brought flan and churros!! Would definitely use them again and recommend!

My favorite has been the fish tacos! They're BOMB! Then I recently had the opportunity to try their Italian food catered at our company Christmas Party and it was soooo delicious. Everything was homemade. The lasagna was juicy and cheesy and the Alfredo was one of the best I've ever had! YUM! Wish I had more ;)

I tried Frida's Cocina burrito at this event in Vista, CA. Among ice cream truck, waffle truck and other light catering food truck at this event, this was logical choise for our hungry family. It now has been couple weeks since we ate there and I still remeber that great chicken burrito loaded with marinated meat and red, green bell pepers and other vegetables. We ordered garlic shrimp burrito and marinated chicken burrito. And both were loaded with original flavor ons. Usually I hate to buy food at public events for two reasons - most of the time the food choices are scarce and over priced. NOT so at Frida's cocina food truck. We paid $8 per burrito, but the value you get far surpasses the price. We were offered plenty of chips and salsa while waiting. And the food was the highest quality. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and cleaned. Chicken was tender and flavorful. I now have to follow this best mexican food truck in San Diego just because of this unique recipe. Seriously if owner or manager is reading this review please reply with link where to find your catering truck next on regular basis ( facebook or scheduled events or update).

Fridas Cocina stopped by at company and company paid for their food service for us. Everything was fresh and made to order. Great fish and beef tacos is what I ordered. It was simply delightful Mexican food. Thank you Frida!

I feel so incredibly blessed to know the owners and team of Frida's Cocina Food Truck. This is a special group of people!! Elsa and Johnny are like no one else I've ever worked with. They put so much heart and love into what they do. We hosted my Mom's 70th birthday party at my house last night for over 80 adults. The colors were Gold, Black and White. The Frida's Cocina team worked with me on the perfect menu and schedule for the night. They even provided Bar Tenders to attend to both bars and both guys did a wonderful job! Elsa handmade everything! The love she put into these beautiful and delicious cupcakes was unreal to me. We were texting pictures back and forth of platters and ideas, I don't know what other catering company would put so much effort into someone's party like that, my heart feels absolutely full right now. The Food was Unreal. Most conversations going around at the party was about how awesome the Fish Tacos were! I personally had the chicken and it looked and tasted so so good!! They handled every little detail from setting up their nicely presented table to the absolute best staff imaginable. They went around with trays serving ceviche, mushroom taquitos and this insane corn in a cup. They prepared beautiful fruit on sticks and vegetables in cute clear boxes with ranch dressing at the bottom, such a nice touch. They served the most delicious flan and created fresh churros that was one of the biggest hits of the night. I truly can't say thank you enough and without hesitation would recommend Frida's Cocina to anyone for any party, you will be happy you did! 5 stars all day.

Nothing like a food truck in your front yard for a party!!

All I can say is wow!! I used them for a work event for 200+ people a few months ago and knew I wanted them for my MBA graduation party. They showed up right on time with clean and professional uniforms ready to serve. They had two friendly waiters taking and serving orders so my guests didn't have to leave the live music. I couldn't be happier. Oh and did I mention the food was awesome?! They served a beef, chicken, fish and veggie taco. So simple but sooooo good! Highly recommended! Reliable, professional, friendly and talented.

Frida's Cocina catered my 09/01/2018 wedding at Milagro Farm Winery this weekend and they did an amazing job! I communicated about 9 months early with Elsa about what I wanted and they did not disappoint! The salmon taco and fish taco were amazing! They made a great vegetarian taco with grilled veggies that was bomb! With everything they provide you can't beat the price! They are very reasonable and worked with my budget. Everyone who came to the wedding loved the food and did not leave hungry. The 3 tacos are generous in size and with chips, salsa, beans, and rice, it's sure to fill up the hungriest of guests. The provided beverages and appetizers that were very yummy. We chose a jicama salad that was vegan and vegetarian friendly and a civiche. Both came in cute plastic cups. The team at Frida's was very professional. I'm beyond thrilled and would highly recommended them for a wedding! Thank you Fridas Cocina for making my special day that much nicer

If it's on the menu, it's a must try!

Delicious! Here at Omni resort in La Costa. Enjoyed the fish burrito and chipotle cream sauce. Wish there were beans and rice as a side ‍

I had basically given up on finding a bomb fish taco spot until a friend recommended this place, and now I'm hooked. You definitely gotta try it! The portions are a good size, and honestly, you can't go wrong. Also, the camaron tostadas are straight fire. You can chill and eat at the tables or take it to go. Service is always fast and friendly, making it an easy favorite.

Here is the breakdown of my recent meal: The Food The kitchen missed the mark on a few basics. My bistec ranchero was underwhelming; the sauce was overly "tomatoey," lacking the deep, savory complexity or spice you expect from a solid ranchero. To make matters worse, the rice served on the side was noticeably cold, which is always a disappointment. The Drinks The beverage situation was equally frustrating. I was surprised to find that the bar offers no wine options at all. I decided to pivot to an Arnold Palmer, which ended up being the worst version of the drink I've ever had--the proportions were completely off. Service & Atmosphere The service felt lacking throughout the night, with very little attention paid to the table. Most off-putting, however, is the policy stated on the menu: a 45-minute window to eat. It's hard to relax and enjoy a meal when you feel like you're being timed by the staff. Verdict Between the cold sides, a limited bar, and the rushed atmosphere created by the time limit, I can't say I'd be in a hurry to return. There are too many great spots in San Diego to settle for a 45-minute countdown.

Much higher than you would expect from a trailer/truck that looks like this. But the food is very, very good. We tried the lobster quesadilla, a shrimp burrito, and 3 street chicken street tacos. The tacos were 3 for $9 but were packed with delicious, fresh chicken. The shrimp burrito (about $15, yikes) was not small but not enormous but it was PACKED with incredibly fresh shrimp. Both the quesadilla and the burrito had an amazing smoky flavor to them. You can get enormous crappy burritos from any old taco shop for about $8 or $9. The shrimp burrito was pricey but terrific. You make the call. I would return.

That being said, I ordered the "wild" grilled mahi mahi fish burrito for $7.00. The burrito came with freshly prepared pico de gallo with mango, shredded cabbage, a house chipotle sauce, and of course the griddled mahi mahi fish all wrapped in a soft warm tortilla. The burrito was quite tasty and the pico with the chopped and cubed mango pieces was great, but as whole, the burrito did need more mahi mahi because the burrito was just not generously filled as it should of been. The mahi mahi was well seasoned and prepared, perhaps a little over, but still was moist and tender. Regardless of the what I felt was a lack of fish, it still was a very good burrito. I tried all three of their salsa that came in the plastic squeeze bottles and they were all terrific and packed some very good heat. The gents who own El Shrimp Bucket are from Mazathlan and still have family back home that run and own a fishery that specializes in shrimp. They receive only the best Mexican White Shrimp from the fishery, so next time, I for see a pile of unshelled and cooked shrimp sitting in front of me.
