A small but very good restaurant. We went in for brunch type food. Ordered Jill's Jewel and the Breakfast special crepes. Both were excellent. The outside crepe was crispy and the inside filled with deliciousness. The ingredients were fresh and made to order. Solid crepes but a bit pricey. I would have liked more filling for the prices but it was still good. I love crepes and all styles. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. Service was quick and place is more of a to go place than sit around and hang out. read more

Twisted Crepe is a neat little place for breakfast or lunch crepes. It's a smaller what I would consider "hole in the wall," with some pretty tasty food. Located in downtown Asheville, it's only a short distance from local shopping and points of interest. The interior offers a limited amount of seating for its guests, but these crepes are also available to-go. Food is made to order, and was done in no more than 15 minutes after our arrival. read more

Great service, I don't really like my crepes as well done as they did theirs but that's me. Good toppings & really liked the pesto & tzatziki sauces. Great for vegans. Kind of pricey but crepes always are & this is a tourist area so likely just me & sticker shock still to be fair. Breakfast crepes any time!! I came here Saturday for an early dinner the evening before a half marathon. I was looking for something smaller but with protein so I opted for the buffalo chicken crepe. I sat inside while I waited- it was not crowded, only one other group at a table and a couple patrons at the counter. It took a little under 10 minutes to come out- portion wise, definitely a generous serving; I only hate half there. But in terms of flavor, something was missing, either seasoning or enough sauce, not sure exactly. Might give this another try, probably try something from the sweet menu though. Staff was nice and gave me a to-go box, and overall I had a decent experience. read more

Coming from someone who has had crepes in France , I have had better crepes. They were decent. I asked for extra nutella on the top and the worker said "there's already some inside" and walked away. the coffee was a bit bland. My husband said his big crepe breakfast was "alright". The price for everything pictured was $42 and we both agreed it wasn't worth it. They didn't have any military discount :( read more

We rarely get crepes out, because they're so fast and easy to make at home. But we saw these guys' menu last night and decided that we had to stop in for lunch. The place is clean, bright, and inviting, though the music is a little too loud. We each got a crepe for lunch, and ended up getting two dessert crepes to share. My crepe was the Parris's Smoked Trout ($12), filled with good chunks of local smoked trout (absolutely delicious), spinach, tomatoes, sprouts, and cream cheese with a balsamic reduction. Nicely put together, decently filled- enough without being too much. My Bride got the Rusty's Signature, a crepe stuffed with turkey, prosciutto, pineapple, spinach, tomatoes, Asiago cheese and "Cajun remolade." The bite I tried was excellent. The Kid got the Joby's Luau, which has chicken, ham, bacon, pineapple, mozzarella, green peppers, paprika, and honey mustard. I'm told "it was delicious." 3 lunch crepes and 2 fountain drinks came to $38.92, tax included. Then we went back for dessert... We decided to share around three dessert crepes- the Dirty Banana ($7) is stuffed with banana, Nutella, and caramel. It was really freaking good. The Reese's ($7) had peanut butter, chocolate, and Nutella. It was supposed to have whipped cream, but I didn't notice any. Not that it suffered any. The Kid got the Ash Vegas ($11), stiffed with Strawberries, Bananas, Kiwifruits, Nutella, Peanut Butter, and Raspberry syrup. It was pretty stellar, and so big that frankly, if it were just me and my Bride, we could have been fine splitting it. The three dessert crepes came to $27.72 including tax. Definitely keeping these guys in mind for our next visit. read more

Quite a variety of breakfast, lunch, and sweet crepes! I am having the Ken with egg, sausage and mozzarella- then added my 3 veggies of spinach, mushrooms and cucumber and a special sauce!! Wow, quick service, served beautifully with a perfect toasting in just minutes! It was quiet on my arrival with soft music playing. An artsy restaurant with limited seating but has nearly filled up while I'm here So much better than waiting in long lines to go to the Big Crafty at Harrahs Cherokee event center that is just acrossed the street. Lines are shorter now for the craft show so I will give up my table and go to the craft show that's held early summer and a weekend in December! read more

I arrived seeking breakfast. They are open for dine-in (or were when I was there), which is good during winter; there's not a ton of seats but they are spread out. Bucking my usual trend, I did not order the one with the most ingredients. What I did order had a combination of Nutella, caramel, and fruit. Nutella and caramel seems unconventional and I cannot recall having that combination before, but it is, unsurprisingly, delicious. If the dairy, egg, and wheat crepes are not for you, I didn't see a ton of alternatives. But it was a delicate and tasty crepe for those who can eat it. read more

We visited Asheville the week of Thanksgiving Break and we were looking for a lunch place. The restaurants on the main drag were packed with an hour wait or closed, so we decided to try a side street. This is how we found the Twisted Crepe. People were eating inside , but we saw that the counter by the window was available so we decided to grab it. There is not table service or in this case counter service, so we waited in a short line to order. They offer sweet crepes, savory crepes and breakfast crepes. I ordered their daily special which was a savory crepe with ham, avocado, onion, fresh spinach and cheese. It came with a cup of chicken noodle soup. Both were delicious and the perfect amount of food. We were walking, so parking wasn't a problem for us. But if you are driving, only street parking was available. I wish they would open one in my city. read more

Not French. Everyone spoke Spanish. Christian radio station played the whole time. Greeter/cook/server was on the phone the whole time. Savory crêpes were more like quesadillas--and one customization was left off. Coffee order wrong. $60 for brunch for two. Certainty 'twisted'. Food _was_ tasty, just not what we expected from a crêperie. Bathroom was a mess. read more

Got the Cassie's Lady Bug (Nutella, caramel, strawberries) Service: 4/5 Service was quick Ambiance: 4/5 There were two small outdoor tables with outdoor music if you want to eat outside. Love this location! My youngest daughter and I walked out of the library, and basically walked across the street here. I got the savory crepe with trout, and my youngest did a "build your own" with chicken, romaine, avocado & tomato. We also both got the caramel iced coffee. Loved people watching sitting in the seating at the window. The prices seem a little high, but it is downtown Asheville after all... I'll still be back because I believe in supporting local, and I enjoyed it! read more

We arrived about 1 minute after opening time which turned out to be a good thing bc it got quite busy. We ordered a couple of smoked trout crepes. They were delicious with plenty of trout, tomatoes, spinach, sprouts and balsamic vinegar. Our crepe was slightly over crisped but that was forgivable. Ha. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is the ordering process. The gal had difficulty understanding we wanted 2 trout crepes. They have sweet and savory crepes. The food was good! The savory wasn't really a crepe texture, more of a crispy quesadilla, but ingredients tasted good. The savory was more of a real crepe in softness. I've certainly had better crepes, but it hit the spot and was a good, quick breakfast. Service was a bit awkward, we had to ask for someone to take our order after waiting a while when they were available the whole time and no one else was in the restaurant. read more

Food Fun Adventure Weekend started with Fat Man Reviews visiting Twisted Crêpe in Asheville, North Carolina. Twisted Crêpe offers french style crêpes in both sweet or savory. We started with the Rusty's Signature, savory crêpe. It comes with turkey, prosciutto, pineapple, spinach, tomato, Asiago cheese and a Cajun rémoulade. The crêpe was hot and crispy. The meats and veggies were fresh, and the pineapple added a surprising sweetness with the dish. The star was the rémoulade. It was creamy, slightly salty and added spice but not hot kick. The entire dish worked well. We then tried the special of the day. A sweet crêpe made with sweet butter, cinnamon, sugar and honey. The crêpe was light and fluffy, it was sweet but not instant cavity sweet. The butter and honey made the entire bite just melt into a delicious mouthful. Twisted Crêpe offered several types of sweet and savory crêpes, soups and salads, coffee and teas. Came here on a whim while we were visiting Asheville. The restaurant is small, but has ample seating. Outdoor seating is also available. The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu offers sweet as well as savory crepes. You have the option of making your own. We ordered: The Beckett Crepe $7.99 Pace's Just Nutella $6.50 The hubs and I decided to share the Beckett. The crepes are good, but the coffee is inconsistent and the prices are a tad high for what they serve. Would recommend it for a quick morning bite (Reese's Cup crepe is delish!) but will likely head to another spot in AVL for coffee moving forward. Such a great find downtown! Restaurant is super clean and everything is made to order. Lots of options for sweet or savory crepes. I ordered a buffalo chicken crepe and it was outstanding! The crepe was cooked so it was crispy on the outside and stuffed with diced chicken breast, lettuce, sliced tomatoes tossed in buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Flavors blended beautifully and it was delish! Will be back!!!! read more

Wow! My wife and I stumbled into this place for a late breakfast on our recent trip to Asheville and to our delight it did not disappoint! It's a nice cafe that offers an array of breakfast and lunch type of crepes that are made right in front of you if you sit at the counter. Cool little crepe shop. The crepes are soft, thick enough, fresh, and made to order. These are not thin, brittle crepes, no, these are legit crepes made to order (got the emphasis on made to order, right?). I got a fruit crepe for breakfast, totally vegetarian, but unfortunately not vegan. But it was good, like I said above. This shop is pretty quiet, has a lot of space, and a restroom, which seem to be scarce in this area. Use the restroom before venturing into Downtown Asheville! read more

The food was not bad but nothing special. The crepes were thicker than I'm used to, but tasty. You can choose what veggies you want in the crepe, which is nice but the mushrooms were cut so small that they didn't have anything flavor. I sat outside so I can't comment on the ambiance. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The wait was reasonable. There are so many good restaurants in Asheville and I wasn't impressed this this place. Pictures of their dessert crepes look good though. read more

Yes. The lunch crepes were incredible and the ranch was fantastic. The ambiance was awesome with Christian music playing- I was getting in my feels. Then the dessert crepes- oh my goodness. We were walking down the streets of Asheville and stopped in front of The Twisted Crepe. My niece was excited after reading the menu that they posted on the window so we went in. The establishment was small but clean. There were a few booths, a counter top at the front window and another near the kitchen. It looks like maybe 20-25 people could be seated. We went to the counter and we had plenty of time to look at the menu because they were trying to get caught up on their orders so we had to wait about 10 minutes before someone came up to the counter to take our order. This isn't an establishment that I would typically choose to eat at but I enjoyed the food!! I built my own crepe...with chicken, spinach, onions, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and chipotle sauce. I had never had a crepe before...it looked like a large half size quesadilla. The only downside to my order was that they didn't have more options for sides. read more

If you haven't tried twisted crepe I 10000% recommend, I absolutely love them and If I could eat there everyday I would. The energy I feel in there makes the food 10x better too, the energy feels like home. There is not that many crepe places around Asheville besides this one but I love twisted crepe! They have never given me a bad crepe or bad service I love them. read more

I love crepes and was excited for this place! Hard workers, delicious food and the best part is that it's not heavy!! I had beacon, eggs, cheese and veggies and didn't leave feeling overstuffed. I settled on the Manic Monday with onions mushrooms and olives and no sauce (I felt weird about having sauce on eggs) and my husband got the Kenneth's Original. Everything was really good. I had to stop looking at the menu because I wanted to order more!! It looks like it's definitely a family business - a teenager was at the register taking orders and working the register. My heart went out to him because there was a customer in there who was very nasty to him because they hadn't received one of their orders. Twisted crepe is a solid place to stop by for a quick breakfast. We ordered the manic Monday crepe which came with eggs, bacon, cheese, and veggies. We chose the green peppers and onions and also had a pesto sauce added. The savory breakfast crepe came out more like a quesadilla. It was crunchy and the flavors blended well. Absolutely amazing! My cousin, her two daughters, my wife and I ran in here on a freezing, snowy night this winter. It was warm and smelled delicious. We ordered 5 different crepes and all were amazing. The Cal's Money Buffalo was just amazing! Then we ordered dessert... I wasn't really a fan of the Reeses crepe, but it was more that the other ones with the berries were SO much better. I highly recommend anything with berries and chocolate. read more

The waitress agreed to take it back, but after another long wait she returned and explained they couldn't remake it because the curd needed more time to set. In other words, they knew it wasn't ready but served it anyway. At that point, I was starving and ordered a different crepe. By the time it arrived, my friends had already finished their meals and we'd been there for over an hour. The replacement wasn't very good and I only ate part of it. When the bill came, I was charged full price. Not once during the entire experience did the owner come by to apologize or check on the situation, despite being present. When I politely explained that I didn't feel I should be charged for a dish that was served incorrectly and delayed the entire table, the owner argued that because I had eaten some of the replacement crepe, I should pay for it. The conversation became unnecessarily confrontational over what should have been a simple customer service issue and could have been easily solved by a discount and an apology. Eventually the item was removed, but only after a lengthy debate. What bothered me most wasn't the mistake. Mistakes happen. It was the complete lack of accountability, concern, or desire to make things right. In reading some of the other reviews, it seems others have also had this experience On a later visit, the owner made a point of checking on every nearby table except ours, which felt intentionally passive-aggressive given our previous interaction. My last visit was the worst experience yet. The food was poor, service was slow, and I watched the owner lock the doors 40 min before the posted closing time of 2 pm, and no sign posted. Several customers arrived expecting the restaurant to be open and were visibly frustrated. I then observed the owner complaining about those customers to other guests inside the restaurant. Expecting a business to honor its posted hours is not entitlement; it's a reasonable expectation. I also observed her arguing with a customer on my way out. That was my last cue to never give this place another shot. At the end of the day, food is usually a miss, and service is slow. What is much harder to overlook is an owner who seems unwilling to accept responsibility when problems arise, and more likely to lash out at customers than focus on improvement . I will never go back, this place has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Updated response to owner: No ma'am, this review is directly related to my experiences as a customer in your establishment over multiple visits. My review specifically discusses issues I experienced with the food, service, and management, all of which are relevant to a customer's dining experience. If they had sliced the fresh apples or put them on the side, it would've been better. The Ugly: We had the Greek omelette which was not big and can't really taste the feta cheese. It came with a hash brown but it was probably heated up in a microwave instead of fried...it was dry and missing the crunch. The bread was cold that came with the omelette, it didn't came with butter either. Our experience was a letdown on food, but good place for coffee.

First of all, I'm a third generation maker of homemade crepes. I've worked tirelessly to perfect my crepes. Mine are perfect. Fluffy and light as air, a bit of crispness around the edges, with a hint of vanilla. Mine are the product of several Decades of family effort. My crepes are perfect. These are too. The setup of the prep area contains the same rolled you'd find on the streets of Paris. The circular flat grills with the t-shirts shaped sticks for spring the batter. Light and thin these crepes were done on moments. Filled with fresh fruit and delightful syrups and fresh whipped cream these crepes were light and the perfect amount of food. My wife had a savory crepe with eggs, cheese and veggies. The crepe had been cooked, filled and griddled again to mesh the ingredients together. She loved it. I was less a fan, to particular about my crepes to accept this twist on my favorite of foods. You really can't lose here. Maybe you'll be inspired to try your hand. read more
