Delectable delights and super friendly service--this combo is a rarity in LA eateries...and I can definitely get used to it! Going at peak lunch hours means you'll be eating at a communal table (I still can't get used to that). Biscuits: amazing. Cause I'm from the South and these are southern buttermilk biscuits. Croissant: good. Better than most, but better do exist in LA. Key Lime Pie: the best I've had in LA without a doubt. Kale salad: good. I don't like kale so I'm biased against it but this salad was actually good. Probably because it's cut into such thin strips. What a cute establishment! Simple, open & inviting - you walk into an open space, tables to one side and a counter where you order. A case full of delicious treats displays many savory salads and sinful cakes and pastries. The menu was simple, a few brunch specials and a healthy variety to choose from. My boyfriend has quite the sweet tooth, but he resisted much to my surprise! We both had savory dishes; he, the tuna melt and I, the croissant egg sandwich with mixed greens. I also ordered a regular coffee (Handsome Roasters), but it was too bitter for my taste and wasn't hot enough. The croissant egg sandwich was tasty, fluffy egg and yummy cheddar cheese! His dish looked good too - an open faced sandwich jammed with tuna, melted cheese and marinated cherry tomatoes and the kale slaw on the side. I had some blueberry pancakes (good), would have like the blueberries to be softer in the pancakes and the jalapeño biscuit w potato hash. It sounded and looked better than it tasted. I wasn't expecting the jalapeño to be raw and burn my lips because the little slices had all their seeds. I was hoping for a pickled jalapeño. (Mind you my spicy tolerance is pretty high). They would have a better product if they focused on quality and not quantity and made it a couple of dollars cheaper. Should be more like a grab and go item. I have been meaning to write a 5 star review for quite awhile. This place is fabulous! I work down the street and am so happy to find a local place with great food and wonderful service. THE FOOD It is hearty and the portions are good. I have had the: -Pulled Pork Brisket (drool), and the horseradish- so delicious -BLT with legit bacon strip- (NOT the really thin kind that makes a mostly bread sandwich) piled with yummy veggies -Pumpkin Soup (bowl)- love the puréed approach with roared pumpkin seeds. I was a little wary when they said croutons, but do it. So good. I also got a side of toast. It doesn't look like a lot, but you will be stuffed. -Pressed Chicken sandwich with Brie. Very yummy, but hard to eat at work and look like a lady. I usually get the side of greens with balsamic. Actually, I don't even know what the other sides are bc I love the salad. Oh and speaking of salads I also had the Cesar with chicken. It was very simple, but in a welcoming way. I am not one of those salad eaters that needs a million things in it, then you look at it like, "isn't there supposed to be lettuce in this?" The Cesar is abundant with lettuce and has the perfect amount of everything else. Haven't tried their sweets yet. Hot chocolate is very good. THE INTERIOR It's very cute. Food is quite fresh-tasting, with a complex (but not fussy) layering of flavors. For breakfast, I've had the granola and yogurt bowl, which I think would be better if they toned down the sweetness a bit. But the granola was clearly freshly made, which was nice. I just had the salmon bowl for lunch, which has quinoa, avocado, perfectly-sized bits of carrot, pineapple (delicious, trust me), and a generous helping of salmon, with a citrus sauce. A little more salt would have made it perfect. I can't recall the coffee they use, but their cappuccinos are delicious as well. Great vibe, decor, location. read more

Amazing biscuit sandwich! Crispy but doughy in middle with 2 slices of bacon, egg and cheddar. Fruit bowl was fresh and full of mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. Handsome Roasters iced coffee was the best I have had. Highly recommended! The only thing I would suggest is to make the place a little cooler in temperature. This is the worst $5 latte I've ever bought. It's sososo sweet, sickeningly sweet, that I'm feeling the onset of diabetes. I didn't request a receipt, either, but I'm not usually one to go running back for a refund, anyway. BUT, because this place is new, the location is great, the staff seemed very friendly, and the interior design was classic and clean....I'll probably be back to try it out for lunch or a tasty treat! While I think the location is great and the staff is nice, this 2 stars is specifically for the Caesar salad. The salad is QUITE LITERALLY shredded iceberg lettuce for $10. If you just look at the place... it's well-decorated, cute space with friendly staff. But oh the most important factor- food, was seriously lacking in flavor. My potato onion hash and the BF's biscuit gravy sandwich were shockingly bland and uninspired. Say what??!?! Twist has potential but I would consider refining the menu: hiring a true taste-maker & barista for this joint to be a serious SK contender. Located inside the Marciano Art Foundation. This mini cafe serves lattes, teas, and bottled juices and kombucha. They also have pastries and cookies as well as sandwiches for a quick lunch while you visit the Marciano Art Foundation. Twist Eatery is super clean, super modern, and an art in itself. Glad there is a cafe located inside the art museum since we tou can't bring your own food or drinks to the place. read more

Service was incredibly spotty the day I was there. You have to order at the counter, then they bring to your table when ready. The cashier was also the server, and barista so I did wait a few good minutes at an empty cash register (aka iPad) station at noon on a weekday. I thought that was odd, but the poor guy apologized at least three times, and I felt bad for him. I placed my order, but after about 15 minutes at my table waiting for my food to come out, he told me they were out of my order or it was inedible (because I did see it in the display case) and we came up with a replacement order quickly. Again, an apology or two... things happen. Then another 10 minutes went by for my new order. If I had been in a typical "lunch hurry" the service on this day would've been a problem. But I actually had a lazy lunch period from work so no stress. I go to counter lunch spots typically for my work day lunches because I do not have time for waiter service, and in comparrison to my usuals (Cafe Magazino, Olive & Tyme, sweet water) this place was sloooooooow. Called the day prior and Twist Eatery made it happen! 8 rather picky people (one a vegan) and I got zero complaints about the food.
