We took a 9-day road-trip across Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana and, of all the places we stayed, we liked this place the best. And we stayed in some nice places. The staff is super friendly (and not too friendly, if you know what I mean), and the rooms are really excellent. We loved the screened-in porch and the swing, which I laid out on with a book and the sound of the water below and no "bitey" things flying around my head, while my partner decamped on the leather couch in the living room . "Joe Baby" is a stitch (this is Rapunzel, btw ;)) and breakfast surpassed our B&B expectations. We'll return. read more

Definitely the best hotel in Twisp! I stayed here a while back, and it was so great. The people who run the place are fantastically warm and welcoming, and they will personally have breakfast with their guests every morning. Breakfast is amazing, by the way - all sorts of fresh fruits and delicious yogurt, bagels, granola, you name it! They've also got a wonderful little area down by the river where you can relax in a hammock, read a book, and go swimming if you want to. The rooms are beautifully done and the beds are comfy as heck. The only complaint I have is that the AC was cranked up so much when we arrived that our room was like the Arctic tundra, but that was easily fixed! read more

The Twist River Suites is the BEST place to stay! Joe has thought of everything! From happy hour snacks and drinks to the fabulous breakfast.. don't miss the bread pudding or the quiche! The rooms are outstanding! We had a pet suite complete with pet bowls/treats and a big comfy chair just for our girl! With an attached dog run and door that allowed her access when she needed it. The room was perfect! The bed was super comfortable, shower was hot and appointed with top end amenities! There is also a hot tub but we didn't have time to try it this time. This was our second visit and it was just as good if not better than the first visit! Absolutely stay at the Twisp River Suites if you are looking for a great place for the night! read more

The breakfast is awesome and Joe and the staff are very friendly. The King Bed is very comfortable with a lot of pillows and the bathroom tub/shower is incredible. Pet owners beware of Pet Suite #1. You barely have room to turn around in the room, the lighting is horrible and the room spells bad. No dog wash. Stayed 3 days with no room service the 1st day. Was told by owner that you get a change of linens (bed and towels) your 3rd day. 1 very small trash can in bathroom. Great concept with a real 8 foot fenced area for your pets. $$$$ read more

Beautiful new lodgings in Twisp in the beautiful Methow Valley. Joe is an innkeeper in the old tradition...making a personal connection with each and every guest. This is a fine lodging with every comfort. The public areas are beautiful and very lively. You can join in, or find a quiet corner. The suites & the public areas overlook the lovely Twisp River. Our room (not a suite) is small, but beautifully appointed and thoughtfully laid out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND...wish we could stay longer. We will be coming back to Twisp just to stay here again. read more

I don't think there is one thing they didn't think of in terms of comfort. It's a gorgeous spot to rest in the quiet mountains. A swing on the deck. Screens to protect from bugs. Ear plugs in case, but my gosh I would never need them. Great coffee. Reading glasses, flash lights. I'm actually in awe of every detail and thought that was put into the comfort of those who stay here. The river is so soothing. Just checking in was awesome. I merely asked about an idea for biking nearby and was on the phone in minutes to a nearby rental. I had answers for nearest trails and any options that suited our needs. Even the soap is nice. I will be back. And a serious bonus for those who love the mountains its minutes from a grand drive on forest land to an incredible lookout point. Oh wait not to mention great breakfast option included. My vacation self would take up residence here all summer if I could. read more

Rooms very comfortable and expansive with all the home away from home comforts you would hope for down to reading glasses and flashlights. Breakfast delicious and varied. My husband and I just came back from a long weekend spent with Joe and his crew at Twisp River Suites. This was by far the best experience we've ever had at a hotel. Joe as actually outside when we pulled up and he stopped what he was doing to welcome us "home". We had originally booked a single room, but when Joe showed us the suite and told us we could upgrade, there was no going back. Seriously, the suite is totally worth it. You might not need the washer and dryer or the full kitchen, but it's sure nice to have. We spent most of our time in the suite lounging on the leather sofa in the living room and watching DVDs, which they have for you to borrow. We took advantage of their breakfast one morning. Wow. The quiche was amazing! That night, we hit the local grocery store (Joe's recommendation) and picked up a few steaks to grill on their outdoor grills. Fantastic! They also have a fire pit right next to the water and a hot tub, but we didn't use either. There were a lot of local events going on, which Joe and crew were happy to tell us all about. They were so tuned in to what was happening in the community and always had a suggestion on where to eat or what to see. By the end, my husband and Joe were on a first name basis. Joe and the crew at Twisp River Suites are incredible. I've never been so taken care of. It was an amazing experience. We will definitely be back! read more

We have spent our cross-country-skiing weekend here. Great suites with fireplace and a porch to the river site. Breakfast includes vegetarian and non- vegetarian quiche, home made salmon spread, fresh fruit salat and great coffee. The personal is so friendly that they feel like family. We stumbled on to the Twisp River Suites after another hotel fumbled our reservation and are we glad we did! The Owner, Joe, took us on a guided tour of the hotel and this place is a labor of love. No chain hotel shortcuts here! Twisp River Suites is loaded with special little features that go on and on. We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen and right over the river. I sat watching the river before going to bed (in a very comfortable bed). One night we opened a bottle of wine with Joe (the owner) on the back patio and talked about how his hotel could be made better. Came here for a family retreat and that means the dog got to come! There were 9 humans and it was my dog's first experience with a dog door. Our bed was so comfortable and he enjoyed his plush dog couch. Our second night we used the propane grill in our pet suite yard and the adjoining shared pet kitchen. My family had a 2 bedroom suite bigger than many Seattle apartments for an amazing price. The proprietor gave us great advice on pet friendly places (the mexican restaurant was a nice, family business) and the perfect hill to star gaze. He was also very understanding when my dog got separation anxiety and scratched the door while I was at breakfast the first morning (breakfast is A-MAZING BTW) and I paid for the damage without complaint and am invited back! Easy access to the town of Winthrop, many local hikes and having the river right there is a dream come true. Now if only the brew pub next door would reopen... I'd love to come back in the colder months and go snowshoeing! read more

Twisp River Suites has exceeded my expectations so far beyond what I expected I truly request that on your Twisp and or Winthrop travels you MUST stay here. I came expecting just another hotel, indeed I was wrong. The suites are beautiful top to bottom, cozy, clean and I find myself wanting to stay in my room versus exploring purely because of the comfort and excitement I find right here at the Inn. Currently I'm sitting outside on our deck which rests directly above the rushing river below. I can't get enough. I can only imagine what it would be like here in winter! The pictures on the site do not do the awesomeness of this place justice. Joe, the owner has not only made our weekend seamless, but friendly and FUN! You can sit outside after dinner and he'll pour you wine, what's not to absolutely adore right? I want my wedding party to stay here! A++++ All the way! The Twisp River Suites are a very special place. As previous reviews have mentioned the rooms are large, very well appointed and the memory foam beds and pillows are great. Lots of thoughtful extras - iPod dock in the bedroom, reading glasses (just in case you need some and forgot), full kitchen, and the list goes on. But what makes this really outstanding is the love and attention that Joe the owner lavishes on his enterprise and every guest. Every possible need is anticipated and fulfilled. We stayed in the winter and came for a kids ski race at nearby Loup Loup. Joe set up a waxing room for the skis, complete with space heaters, snacks, drinks for adults and kids. After dinner at the nearby Twisp River Pub, he put on a movie for the numerous kids and served desserts and drinks. They are building suites that will be dog friendly, so you can take your four legged friend. If you're going to stay in this area, this is the place to go. Was very nice. Only reason I have out a four was the room I had was grossly over priced for what it was. would barely qualify as a studio it was so small. No room for luggage, had to put the coffee maker in a drawer to use it, and hardly room to turn around the bed almost filled the room. Just needed a place to sleep for a couple nights and it did provide that, but for 90 bucks a night you could do way better in the Methow there are lots of places to choose from. I did have a dinner there which was excellent and a great value. Would stay again as long as I get a suite. read more

I don't often Yelp, as I'm a bartender and I think it can be a bit much but in this case I MUST. This place has exceeded my expectations so far beyond what I imagined it has absolutely MADE our weekend. The suites are beautiful top to bottom, clean, cozy and and somewhere I WANT TO BE. I'm seriously considering having my wedding party stay here. The hospitality has been incredible, Joe the owner made our stay not just seamless but comforting, fun and friendly! Such a special treat. I'm currently sitting outside on our huge deck which overlooks the rushing river. It's terribly exciting. The pictures on the site do not do the beauty of this place justice. It truly sneaks up on you. I can say with absolute certainty that I will stay at Twisp River Suites every time we are in the neighborhood from here on out. You can sit out after dinner and Joe will pour you wine on the lovely ground deck. I wish we were staying the whole week! The reason for the low star rating is the physical layout of the rooms are weird and could be dangerous. A suite room and standard room share a common entrance door and shared hall. You use a key and go through the doorway and you think you're in your room. Not so. Actually, you're in a shared hallway. Straight ahead is the suite(the suite door was wide open) and to the side is the standard room. And unless someone points this out to you, you would not know there are two separate rooms here, a suite and a standard. In our case we were staying in the standard room. Here is the big problem: When a couple came in through the shared front door, they thought they were in their suite room, not the shared hallway. They made a ton of noise, took off clothing and left them and luggage in the hall. I too would have thought I was in my suite, by the layout. The suite door was wide open. I was afraid, if we open up our door and stepped into the hallway, they would think we were in their suite. When they went out, their door to the suite was still wide open. Again, they didn't even realize there were two rooms and they had the door to their suite room wide open. They shut the outside door, thinking this was their suite door, but it wasn't. If we wanted, we could have gone into their room. Very weird and potentially dangerous. Not many choices in Twisp. The standard room was very small (closet size), had no view, the only window in the room-the shades had to be continuously closed for any privacy, there was a lot of road noise, and the ventilation system was not adequate and extremely noisy. I think the suite thermostat-central air system controls both the suite and standard room. So to give the standard room control of air, that is why they put in a plug in unit. The suite rooms are very nice. Negative on the standard room and beware of the weird layout. read more

We just returned from our fourth visit to the Twisp River Suites and we can't wait to go back.The Methow Valley is the perfect place to go to get away from city life and slow down for a few days. So much to do and enjoy... but you will have trouble leaving the comfort of your beautiful suite at the Twisp River Suites! Owner Joe is very friendly and will personally make sure your stay is perfect. He really cares about all his guests, even our poodle. The Pet Suite doesn't have a view of the river, but is clean, modern and comfortable. We enjoy relaxing on our two porches - including gated yard for our dog. After a dusty hike - there is even a dog wash right outside our room with warm water and a shower for the dog! In the winter you can cozy up next to the fire. The bathroom is roomy and the shower is amazing. Love the full kitchen access and delicious Blue Star Coffee. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and the room is so quiet that you forget you have neighbors. We enjoy the homemade breakfast and visit with Joe and staff before starting our day. Even live music and drinks on Friday nights in the lobby! A true local experience. It's hard to stay anywhere else - this is a 5 star experience! We feel like family and look forward to our return. read more

This really is a top notch establishment. It's not cheap, but it shouldn't be. We were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of an upgrade due to an over booking, so we were obviously over-pleased with our experience, however, for any traveller I can say that this place is a class act. The owner cares for his guests and their experience and has fully committed to it in the details. The rooms are just top notch from top to bottom. You WILL NOT find better accommodations anywhere in the area and honestly other than ultra luxury resorts in destination locations I've never stayed anywhere better. Again, lots of small details, clean, and classy. The free breakfast is really quite good, and the whole set-up is inviting and homey. I can't really say it's pricey as it is more than fair for what is offered. Everyone has their priorities, however if you are in the area to have a comfortable and classy stay Twisp River Suites is the only option. read more
