Medium small store hat to the gills with product and very healthy life fishes. Husband and wife store owner know their fishes and temperaments and help me pick out and catch the ones for my tank. Definitely going back. Price is better than Petco. Parking right out front. read more

Great selection and best prices you'll find guaranteed. John is honestly an amazing human and very helpful.

Have been coming here since a kid, and honestly nothing major has changed. The staff is usually straight forward, depends on the day but they can be hit or miss on whether nice/rude. Large selection of fish, reptiles, birds, and amphibians, as well as equipment & food to care for them. Only real con I can say is there are a lot of animals packed into a small area, so living conditions can be better. At the same time I don't know of too many small shops like this where it tends to look any different inside. read more

I went here to get a beta fish and look around at the animals. The store was Super cluttered and messy, and animals are in horrible condition. Many had no food or no water, and I even saw dead animals and fish staying in the aquarium and mold growing in the water. I would NOT go here if you were looking for a healthy animal. read more

The rodents are obviously being NEGLECTED. The tanks they are in have pee smeared on the glass walls and there is multiple Of them in one small tank. Even the birds are packed into a small rabbit cage, not even the full cage either there is a metal screen separating some of the birds there was 4+ on one side of the cage . John helped me set up my first saltwater tank. From water parameters to fish community.

One of my favorite things to do is stroll along the saltwater tanks and admire all the vibrant coral and fish. I currently have a freshwater tank so I can only dream for now. I've gotten many plants and shrimp here, very affordable. They have a huge selection and helpful staff. It feels good to support local fish stores and family establishments. read more

WORST WORST WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They are more worried about filling up the fish with water than helping ppl for 2 min. the wife is RUDE she said shes busy to be helping ppl, she called me rude because i told her i was standing there waiting, Not the first time we walk in and don't get help. Dont waste your time or money here, this place doesnt even deserve 1 star read more

Family owned business we have been coming here for years. We get a lot of our aquarium materials, or food, or fish for a saltwater tank here. Small location, but always pretty neat to go inside and see what different types of reptiles, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, parakeets, or even equipment that they have. It is located within a shopping center that gets a lot of clientele. The family that runs this business seems pretty knowledgeable and honest for the most part which is why we continue to bring our business to them. They have a little bit of everything here for the family to enjoy. read more

A+++++++ recommended! Bought 2 crabs and 1 goby! Best price and customer service! Until next time!

Customer service is rude! I walked in to see about bugs (lizard food) they charge 57c a Nubian roach if you do the math what you get down the way at carters for $10 they are charging $28 and some change. I'm a firm believer of your prices are your prices but when your rude to potential customers as well upon walking in then no point in even owning a business especially if your upselling that much and don't have the proper etiquette to even support a reason why. read more

Twins Aquarium - Most of my peacocks came from twins aquarium loving. It - Pet Stores Near Me - Stockton, California

So I was debating whether to give a 3 or 4 star, I'll explain why. First off, the place itself is not huge, but a decent size. There are LOTS of supplies in there, like lots, and it's relatively cheap compared to even online retailers. I've gone to some of the bigger chain stores locally and there's nothing wrong with them, but price wise Twins Aquarium can't be beat. Not just on the supplies but the animals as well. Sulcata tortoises for $75, where everywhere else they sell for around $169.99. Blue shrimp, 5 for $20, Cherry shrimp $2 each. Just to give some examples...there's a pretty good selection of fish too, depending on what you are looking for. Now because the place is old, and has lots of inventory it is a little run down, but not dirty. I read reviews about the owner and his daughter being rude, I've been there twice now and didn't see it. A little rough maybe...but not rude. All in all, if you know what you want or at least an idea, you shouldn't have a problem. But, it is a small store and if their busy I can see how they won't sit around answering questions. I'll be back, but I know at least what I need, so my experience may not be what others have had. read more

I love coming to twins aquarium, they have everything you need at AFFORDABLE PRICES, I know nowadays that's super important as inflation is hitting everyone. Although his shop maybe a little dated John's quality of fish, reptiles, small animals and birds are sought after nice by his team. I have purchased many things from John including a tortoise, live rock, sand, and fish, and pet care related items. I recommend Twins Aquarium to all here in the San Joaquin Central Valley, it has one of the best selections available to us. If you're considering getting into the aquatics hobby, looking to get a small animal and or needing pet care items twins Aquarium is your place to go! read more

I've been trying to buy and help support local businesses but for over 2 decades I've never, not once, in the dozens of times I've been here had a good experience. I stop by to see what they got every once in a great while but man, it's the same terrible service. It's like they find a way to not make you happy. It's laughable. I still hope them success as I know having a small and local business can have perils. read more

I'd like to start off by saying I do not like to leave a business with a negative review like this but I am inclined to do so after walking in this shop and having seen the conditions of the animals inside. It was the worst pet store I have ever walked into. Their was that typical pet store smell but it was just very packed with little room to walk and their were some flying bugs that flew right into my face. When I left I literally felt disgusted. The majority of fish I saw were sick. The saltwater section was even worse because half the tanks had no lighting so you can't even see the color of the fish or scan to see any visible signs of illness. Now even worse than the fish were the birds. The small cages were packed with so many birds, it made me claustrophobic. At some point one must realize when a habitat is overstocked. Apparently, the store owner has no such ability. If you don't believe me, walk in and take a look for yourself. Look at the conditions the animals are living in (especially the birds). Please do not shop at this establishment. Carters Pet Mart is just down the street (matter of fact its only 8-10 minutes away) and was much more pleasant to walk in to and far more clean. Its similar to a Petco or Petsmart but with a well kept saltwater section housing corals, inverts and saltwater/freshwater fish. As a Bay Area Reefer, there are not enough local stores as is, so the last thing i'd want to do is speak poorly of one, but trust me, this shop needs a major clean up. In conclusion, I went to Stockton in the hopes of finding a new aquarium store, walked out of Twins Aquarium feeling like I needed a shower and went into Carters Pet Mart feeling like the 40 minute trip was not a waste after all. read more

LOVE this place! We're regulars and have been coming here for years. They have the best prices in fish, live aquarium plants, and birds. I haven't bothered to check the prices on reptiles, feeders, hamsters or the other pets. Compared to Randy's Fish Store, the fish here are waaay cheaper. I'm especially fond of guppies. They have a beautiful selection and are only $4 ea for males and $1.50 ea for females. Randy's sells them for $6-8 each!! Live aquarium plants here are huge, healthy, great selection, and again, way cheaper than anywhere else. For a tiny store they're very well stocked. The best part of it is that they treat you like family! They're super kind to my kids and even give them discounts when they're purchasing with their own allowances. Don't get me wrong, they can come off rude if you're the type of customer who's unreasonably demanding. And I don't blame them. Overall, this is our go-to pet stop! read more

I've bought several fish both Fresh water & Saltwater types as well as all their foods. I've never had a issue. Owner is very busy helping others, so if you happen to catch him on a slow day he takes the time to talk to you and help you out a lot more. Ya it's a little messy most of the time and jam packed with stuff, and yes on really hot days it can really smell. I think the owner does the best he can with the space provided. read more

First off when u walk in into this store, it smell of death. It smell so bad it seems like all their animals had died inside the store. Wanting to build a custom fish tank with coral reef and such. Asking a question to the owner and the rude girl up front about plantation and corals. The owner gave me a math equations about it and I can take corals off the sea. Guess if u own ur own pet store u can treat customers like that, instead of making profit read more

They have a variety of fishies to choose from that a typical pet store don't even have. Pretty reasonable prices too.

Though the aquarium may seem like a dirty shack, if you looking beyond the dirty floors and tanks you'll find a large array of fish and other animals. Unlike some other fish stores in Stockton, this fish store is very cheap. For example, the nearby fish store Randy's fish palace (which is also a great fish store) sold cherry shrimp for $6 a pop while this store sold the shrimp at a very cheap $2. Though the quality may be different, this is very cheap from what I have seen. read more

The selection is not bad for a reefer but everything else must be hell for the animals, it's really humid and stinks like and looks like a poorly maintained cattle farm. On the sidenote please change that faded out store sign and clean those tanks properly, it's like the fish are there to either get bought or die. Even those we bought sometimes die within days due to possible stress or disease. Sometimes the owner may be out and in my case longer than usual. (see my photo) read more

Went into the store to look at some fish and possibly purchase a new water filter for my tank. I approached "john" which I presumed to be the owner to ask him what his opinion was on my situation since my tank keeps having nitrite spikes when I clean the filters. He really didn't help at all and acted almost as if he expected me to be an expert already. No patience and very rude. This is the only yelp review I have ever wrote and plan on writing since I won't give business to somebody that treats people like that. I have a love hate relationship with this place. As a hobbiest fish keeper I always love coming in here to see what new fish i can find. I wanted to visit a few of the aquariums in the area and this was on my list. I was really sad at what I saw. The place is very packed with stuff. Dust everywhere, its a very dirty store. I must say this is by far the most fun fish store to visit due to the variety of livestock! Always something different and their prices can't be beat. I believe the gentleman that has helped us each time is the owner but not sure. You can tell the animals adore him. They've had a porcupine puffer the last couple visits and I fell in love with him day one. We finally purchased him and expected him to be netted or something to put in the transport bag but instead the man placed his hand in the tank and he swam right into his hand to be lifted out. This is the sweetest little fish with so much personality! He has had zero issues acclimating and began eating the first day! They have a massive selection of foods, substrates, chemicals, decor, everything! Extremely knowledgeable and take the time to help but also don't hover so you can look around as long as you want without feeling pressured. I see the comments about it being dirty but anyone with a lot of birds knows it's inevitable and all the animals are still healthy. I have yet to see a fish glass surfing from stress or a dead fish in a tank. read more

Store is a bit cluttered, there's just a ton of product in a not very large area. Like most people say, the prices here cannot be beat. My fish were almost half price of what they would have cost at the other store I was checking out. The fish quality seems pretty good as well, which is a relief because I doubt there's any guarantee when you don't even get an itemized receipt. It may take a minute to get attention of an employee to help you but you really can't complain because they are quite busy most of the time. A store like this is more for the somewhat experienced fish keeper, if you want basic fish with 30 day guarantees because you don't know how to take care of your fish, go to Petsmart or Petco. Will definitely be coming back in the future to see different options they get in. read more

I Love this store! I get all my soft corals and fishies here. While a purple tang elsewhere goes for over a hundred bucks, John, the owner will knock off a few and give it to you for a reasonable $80. The prices are crazy good. Seriously, I will walk out the door with tons of goodies for under $200, Where other places you might get a fish and a few frags for that. I am talking full rock covered bright healthy zoanthids for $30. John is cool. hes busy on the weekend. If you can catch him on a weekday, you will get a more personalized experience. He wont just sell the critter to sell it, if you mention you want a big hermit crab, he will tell you that that said crab will eat up your corals. So don't do it. Anyhow, we like this store ALOT. We'll be back again and again. I am sure of this. read more
