I had one of my dogs groomed there and the listened and did what I asked them for. The nail trim was perfect and since my dogs nails were overgrown that's no small feat. The next day we used the self service dog wash on two of my other dogs. While the self service tubs are aged they were clean. They offered to supply the bath condiments and towels. The towel we used was clean if old, the type you would use at home. The staff was consistently friendly and while attentive they were not intrusive. The cost was well worth the visit as the grooming was only 50.00 for my small dog and they gave a free use of the dog wash station for our first time visit. It was a pleasant experience with the business, however my husky and Australian shepherd's behavior left a bit to be desired. read more

So this was our first time ever boarding our dogs. We have two Doberman males about 2 years old, super hyper, good dogs, but lots of work and attention. We had to go on vacation and wanted to make sure our babies were well taken care of, while looking we found this place. Right on the edge of Stockton and Lodi, not too far. The property is large, lots of space. There were two different areas where the dogs exercised. The whole process was easy too...we made the reservations, they explained everything super well, even the day dropping them off we had some anxiety, but the employee made us feel comfortable and assured us that they would be fine. The allowed us to see where they would be kept, they have a half in half outside kennel, inside great A/C so the dogs would be fine. We opted to have them use their own food, we only took snacks. We brought them each a blanket which they were able to keep in their kennels. The second day after leaving them there we received a call from the Resort and they assured us again that the dogs were doing great and no big issues. We were sooooooo relieved, being dog owners we love our dogs like family. When we came back, our babies were washed, and looked amazing. No issues...they were happy to come home of course, but otherwise were great. Highly recommend, place is professional, reasonably priced, and our dogs came home just like we left them. Thank you!!! We moved to the area a little over a year ago, and our daughter always did dog/house sitting for us, when we would go on trips. She hasn't been able to help us out lately due to her busy schedule, so we decided to look into dog boarding for the long Labor Day weekend. When we did a Google search, Allen's Pet Resort came up at the top of the list. I called them to ask questions and decided to make a reservation for our two small dogs. I wasn't able to tour the facility until the day before we were leaving on our trip, as well as drop off their vaccination records. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, and when we brought our dogs in the next day, the dogs took to them quickly. The kennel they were in was perfect for them and they were able to stay together in that kennel. When we picked up our dogs, they were happy to see us and they were not stressed at all. Our dog was severely injured and abused here, our English bulldog suffered a six inch gash on his neck from being tethered to a wall we sued the owner in Lodi smalls claims court for the emergency vet fees and won. I left my dog Bear with them for about 10 days. The staff was nice and friendly. I called to check in on him to make sure he was eating and getting exercise. I was assured he was indeed doing well. Our dogs don't like much of anything outside their home and owners. They are pampered, stuck up and oh so loved. To our amazement they love staying here. They were anxious their first time but now they go without hesitation. We bring their beds, food and favorite treats which Allen's allows. We love Allen's pet resort. After multiple bad experiences at a different boarding facility nearby we switched to Allen's. We have a German Shepard and a Siberian husky. They stay multiple times a year here and we always feel comfortable leaving them here. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. One time we got stuck in the snow coming back from our trip and they even went to the pet food store to buy our dogs more food since we didn't make it back in time. I left 2 of my shepherds at Allen's pet resort for a little over 1 week and can I say it was a great decision. Both of my dogs are a bit high maintenance and they both actually had medication as well as some attentive needs at the time. The staff did not disappoint with all of the needs and asks of them and that truly says something. They always picked up the phone and provided me with updates that I needed. We've had our medium sized dog at Allen's for many years. In the past, we've encountered a few issues, but really just brushed them aside. One issue was picking our pup up, and noticing he was VERY lethargic. I suspected he was DRUGGED... but later the next day seemed okay. Another time, our little guy came back with an eye injury...an issue that was claimed to have happened during a bath. Then the other day, our pup was picked-up, taken home...and just layed on the bed for the entire day. I can't prove it .. but again, I'm suspecting something given to him OTHER than his food we supply.... I'm just sayin' ... We are no longer planning on going here..... Came for our first grooming appointment. We asked for a trim, but all they seemed to do was shave his belly and pluck his ears (his anal glands expressed later that day, so they certainly didn't take care of that/) They have a general drop off time and then you pick them up later in the day, which is a little weird and I was very skeeved out that they didn't ask for any vet records or a rabies certificate - I've never been to a place that doesn't require those things. But the one star is really all of the above, plus the huge fact that our dog ended up with severe razor burn on his belly that he began licking that night and which caused a three-week dramafest of meds and wearing a cone. Went in to check out this place, as we are boarding our animals soon and was shocked to find that this place was anything but a "resort". It had a pet shelter feel to it and it just seemed and felt like a dingy place and unhappy. All of the dogs were barking uncontrollably, adding to the shelter feel. This place is pretty good. I have brought our dog here three different times, she comes out always looking fabulous when she's done. The prices for grooming and other services are very reasonable. This place is way better than going to Petsmart or Petco. I've seen those places operate and I've heard horror stories of dogs getting cut open & needing stitches and end up going to veterinary after the visit to those places. I've actually seen some woman actually hugging a dog for five minutes straight because she loves dogs so much. The hugging calmed the dog down a lot. I use to have to pay $600 at the vet so she can get meds and a one time shave with her shots. As a college student that was too much and I was worried about her heart. So one day Nina's nurse recommended APR and I was hesitant because nothing has ever worked, everyone gave up on her. LET ME TELL YOU THE BEST HANDS DOWN!! They're magicians or angels from God Himself because not only do they shave her down really good and wash her and CUT HER FACE (huge deal) Nina takes less and less relaxation meds! They always make me feel comfortable and comforted that they're the best and they help me with suggestions on how to get Nina more comfortable. The first time I saw Nina I cried! I was so impressed with Jannie's, kennel supervisor, immediate report on the dogs' behaviors from when we left, when they have play time, nap time, and their meals. I was especially grateful that they went out of their way to give Ella the kind of food we feed her when she ran out concerned about her tummy.
