Their pet grooming dept is great! My large, Golden Retriever, gets her bath, brush, nail trim and blow out there. She walks out looking great for under $50! For a 70 lb. dog, that's a great price! The people who work there are always friendly and helpful too. My dog likes going there. read more

I bought my daughter a bird from here. She was a beautiful healthy bird. The staff was not very friendly. There was no one else in the store at the time. The women in the live animal section saw my family and I and didn't greet us or ask if we needed help she walked away. I went to the register and asked for someone and the same women that walked away was called back. It took her forever to catch our bird. She seemed scared of them. We have been here on a few occasions and the store is fairly new so it's clean and organized. The staff have always been nice as well. I was also able to order a very cute Halloween toy that I wanted for my dog here and pick up with no problems. Unfortunately, on our last visit they advised us that they don't carry any prescription dog food at this location, and that you have to drive to the Stockton location 15-20 minutes away to see if they have any in stock. The small size of this PetSmart and the limited selection means we are unlikely to return (unless I find more cute unique toys for online order and pick up) but if you need something in a pinch, it's probably worth a stop. read more

I've been to PetSmart 4 times as it's convenient and affordable for pet grooming services. I did have good experiences on visits 1 and 2. 3rd visit I thought oh maybe it was just that groomer so I thought I'd give another shot and go for the 4th visit. I paid extra for the type of dog I have and I just feel like they don't care. The inspiration vs what really occurred was 100% the opposite. As a groomer, especially if you are keeping the dog for several hours, you would expect that they take the time to groom them properly. It's super uneven, and I feel like to make it easier on their job they just shave them vs actually taking the time to use a scissor to trim them. I will not go back now as I really thought I would have a better experience the 4th time. They have to understand that there are dogs with specific type of fur and some may require more attention. If it was their own pet, they would expect the same treatment. read more

DO NOT GROOM YOUR CAT HERE !!!!! I dropped my cat off he was shedding a bit and I payed for a deshedding service and my cat came out worse ! When we got him out of the carrier the hair was flying and he looked worse then when we took him !!! We lightly pet him and an excessive amount of hair came off he would sit on us left us with an ungodly amount of hair . Not to mention before they put him in his carrier they didn't get him and he had peed in the holding cage they use and he was yellow on his whole backside . My cat is all white so an easy tell ! Please go to a cat specific groom !!!! They will also try to charge you more and say they will only brush for 15 minutes during a deshed . Some full bullshit read more

Super excited to have another choice for pet supplies in Lodi. I appreciate not having to drive to and deal with Elk Grove traffic. The location is very convenient right next to Costco, Sprouts and the carwash, all places I frequent on a weekly basis. The store is clean and new. On the smaller side for all of the Petsmarts I have been to in the Sacramento area. But they do have a Banfield which is nice if you need an easy vet. We used to use the Banfield in Folsom and have no complaints. The plan they offer is reasonable and helps prevent surprise vet bills but we have established with a vet we love in Galt. They have a great selection as to most of the Petsmarts. My only complaint is that they don't carry my dog food in the store, just online. So I will frequent Petsmart on occasion for different pet supplies but will do my food shopping elsewhere to eliminate the need to go to multiple stores. Overall, so far a good store. Nice and convenient for those people living in the area or those of us to who drive to Lodi for shopping. read more

Was excited to see a pet store at this location. Went in to check out their fish and aquarium supplies. I am an experienced aquarium hobbyist with 30 plus years experience. Sadly, their bettas were in the most HORRIFIC state I have ever witnessed. Tiniest cups ever (a lot of stores have gone to the even smaller cups...yikes!). That size container holds up to about 1.5 cups of water--if filled to the max line. None were filled that high. Horrific. Zero swim space. While I do understand those are temporary housing, if they are going to go that small, they need to understand that water needs changing in those TWICE a day and possibly 3x as they are very small. The protocol for a 1 quart jar is 1x daily. Anything smaller is 2x daily. A larger container would require fewer water changes and would also be more humane for the fish--less labor intensive for staff. Guess it's all about the shelf space for PetSmart--which I dare say, is NOT smart at all. I saw a few dead bettas, and several on the verge of death--dying from ammonia poisoning--about 75% of their bettas were probably at the point of no return. I mentioned it to the girl at the counter and told her she needed to tell a manager as the bettas were in really bad shape. She didn't know how to respond and basically ignored me. Had she offered to call a manager over, I would have talked to them about it. Nobody was available in the aquatics area to talk to. If they don't have the staff to handle water changes for those poor bettas, they should stop carrying them. Won't be going there, again. And no, NOT posting photos of dead fish. BUT I will NOT go into another PetSmart after witnessing such neglect of their betta display. Zoologic, scientific studies have been done on bettas and they are smart fish and do experience symptoms of depression. Not to mention the horrors of perishing from ammonia poisoning. Yikes! This review is for their grooming salon. (I've had nothing but good experiences actually shopping here, but the location is half an hour away from home). I began taking my pets to PetSmart for grooming after a few traumatic experiences at another salon. I have followed pet stylist William from location to location because he is just that good. Will is caring, friendly, and so skilled at what he does. He has been grooming my diva Pomeranian for several years and now also bathes my Doberman. The grooming facility and store are also nice and clean, which is also a plus. Don't hesitate to book your fur family member for an appointment with Will-- he's awesome! read more

The people in the Lodi Pet Smart are very friendly . I have an issue with an unsafe dog product sold at Pet Smart. With even a minimal amount of chewing the product comes apart. I recently purchased the 3 pack of Top Paws Boss Bones. My dogs began to vomit plastic burrlike pieces. I immediately took the products (bones)away. My Shih Tzu was vomiting only bile. However, 19/20 hours later my other dog still vomited more pieces. I called the number on the package only to discover it is manufactured by Pet Smart and made in China. I was issued a case number. I phoned the Lodi Pet Smart and they temporarily removed the items from the shelf. I also brought the evidence into the manager of the Lodi store. She examined the chew bones and some of the pieces. She was very sympathetic to the situation. However, I later received phone calls from Pet Smart corporation. I was told it was one of their best sellers. One representative even tried to tell me it is "not" meant as a chew toy. The package says, "Let's chew this". The item description also implies for puppies that get bored should chew these. Only after reading a few product reviews I noticed a similar response was posted 2 years ago. After realizing they wouldn't investigate I turned over my evidence to the Center of Pet Safety. She did an interview and had hoped to feature this unsafe product on their Pet Detective type program. I explained that I don't want other pet owners to have their dogs experience the harmful effects. It says on the package that it could cause serious injury if ingested. I was surprised that Pet Smart Company only cares about the revenue to be made. I just want to warn others of the potential risk. read more

I can not say enough about how grateful I am for this store and the people that work here. They have shown me today exactly how much they care for the pets that come here and their families. I took my 2 dogs in today for a grooming appointment. About 2 hours later I received a call saying that my female dog was ready, but that my Male dog had a seizure toward the end of his appointment. He has had seizures before while at home. So, for those of you ready to accuse PetSmart of doing something to him, DONT. I was told that store manager Monique was taking him to the Banfield hospital over out at Trinity Parkway in Stockton. I went to pick up my female dog first so that I could take her home. Every employee I encountered asked me about my Male dog and hoped he was okay. As I was getting ready to leave, an employee approached me and informed me that Monique had to take my dog to the All Creatures Emergency Vet clinic on West Lane in Stocktom because Banfield could not see him. I arrived at All Creatures and found Monique there waiting for me. She waited there with me and my family the entire time we were there. She and the other employees went above and beyond today to make sure my pet was okay and taken care of. That's something I will never ever forget. Unfortunately, my Male can no longer have grooming appointments because of his official epilepsy diagnosis. But they will continue to receive his sister as a customer and for any other pet related needs I have. Thank you SO SO MUCH Monique and the rest of your team. i am a regular shopper at this location. i came in with my friend about 20 minutes before they closed to grab some last minute cat treats, as i got off work late. while i was shopping, a white woman with dirty blonde hair and snake earrings approached me and my friend and informed us that they were closing soon. normally i am not one to complain like this, but the woman made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. i understand that it can be irritating having customers come in near close, but this seriously was my only time i had to go. i won't be returning to this location unless this employee is reprimanded for her behavior. if anyone in management would like to reach out to gather more details on my encounter id be more than happy to do so. read more

The beta fish were all dead or dying and the water was cloudy in the ones that had died indicating that they had been sitting there cooking under the lights for more than a few days. The fish section has dead fish in the tanks that the others have been eating on. The rodent cages are filthy covered in feces on the toys and food dishes and they're using old broken Tupperware in the reptile enclosure as a hideaway. I've seen some poor animal upkeep, but this is a new low for PetsMart. What a shame, I know that your company is known to throw away live animals, but I would hope that you would try to keep your stock alive while you have them displayed in store. They just opened up a new Carter's pet store that takes really good care of their animals and has better deals, I'll be giving my business to them. read more
