I brought in an injured stray dog on 10/8 and paid $75, hoping he would receive basic triage. Instead, I was quoted over $2,000 just for diagnostics, and offered "free euthanasia as a Good Samaritan discount." While I wasn't pressured, euthanasia was presented as the only realistic option. No pain medication, wound cleaning, or stabilization was provided. Thankfully I found help through the Bradshaw shelter in Sacramento, where the same dog was stabilized, given pain medication, and scheduled for x-rays. He is recovering - proving he was not "hopeless" as I was led to believe here. I wish this clinic had shown more compassion by offering affordable middle-ground options, even just basic pain relief or triage imaging. Pet owners deserve to know their choices without feeling cornered.

One hour after I got the kitten

So to begin the story last year I went to walkers vet for the first time they screwed me and my husband over and then I did end up going back to them to give them a second chance because I don't drive and I live down the street from them anyway when I brought in my sick dog In the manger saw that I was there and saw my review on them I posted she said if I didn't take it down she would not service me and help so I took it down but here I am again I went in last night to get an estimate on how much I would need to my dog to get stitches because she ripped open her spay surgery area the girl working last night was disrespectful to me and got mad at me because I didn't understand what she was saying I have high anxiety when I'm in crowded rooms so the waiting room was full anyway the girl was so rude and yelled at me well I'm trying to understand what she was saying and I hade an appointment to bring in my new 9 week old kitten that I got from someone that is not eating or drinking and he is breathing funny so anyway when I was leaving last night I told the girl un know what I'll take her somewhere else cancel my appointment for my dog and well I was walking out I was upset because she said good dont ever come back so I did say the b word when I went out the door well long story short the manger was hella rude and was telling me that she is no long going to help me or my animals anymore and find somewhere else she is basically saying how her workers treat people with disabilities are ok and that the person that has the disability (me ) is not allow to express their worries and it's ok for there workers to do what they did to me and get away with it but Im the one that was in the wrong never go there they will over charge u and scam u and they with threaten u if u write a review they don't like they won't help u anless u delete it just look at the picture I added that dog is my life line she is my service dog and thanks to another vet she is ok and the kitten is badly sick u can tell I am also taking him to a vet at 2;30 pm today this is why u should not go to walker vet

Eye on the left in the photo is the damaged eye. Dr. Singh and his colleague totally saved Maya's right eye vs. having it removed.

Brought in our husky/rott mix Maya with a hole poked in her eye (probably by my rose bushes). Dr. Singh was gentle, thorough, and came up with a solution that was less expensive than removing the eye, and saved the eye. Not only did the procedure save the eye, she actually has some peripheral vision as far as we can tell. I wouldn't take my sick dog anywhere else. I was so pleased with his care each time, and the time he took to examine her and really figure out a good solution. God bless all of them.

    Memorial Card from Walker Vet.

My 13 year old GSD woke up in horrible shape, I panicked and called numerous vets in my area. Walker Vet made time to get her in within an hour. I knew it was time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. The staff were all really nice. I wish I had gotten the vets name but I was a total wreck. He was absolutely kind and gentle with Zoey in her last moments. He was patient and comforting with me. I walked out in tears, but I knew it was the best thing for her. When it comes to emergencies prices aren't everything but not only were they able to get her in the soonest, they also had the most reasonable price for the service to help her cross. I couldn't afford a special package with the extras but today something showed up in the mail. It was a card from Walker Vet with Zoey's paw and nose print. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture.

LaLa. Few weeks after appointment feeling so much better

But I had found out that the manager, who was always there happened to be on vacation. The week we left our dogs and whatever staff was there. Did not do what they are supposed to do to take care of my dog at the time. But in 2024, we dropped our dogs off and the manager, and another long time the staff member was there and they took excellent care of our 2 dogs as they normally had done in the past several years. Except for that one year when the manager was gone. Her and her son were great.I know the son left and went to another vet office. I feel bad because I cannot remember their names as I write this post. But the regular clientele would know who i'm talking about in this review Anyway, I'm going to miss them. I was sad to find out that the veterinarian, who owned the hotel and the vet office retired. And sold everything to the city of stockton. I hope that the staff does read this post and know that they are going to be dearly missed by us.And i'm sure many others

Absolutely blown away by Pet Magic - Gaby is a grooming superstar!…read moreI brought my dog in for the first time today and had the pleasure of having Gaby as our groomer. From the moment we walked in, she took the time to sit with me, explain every step of the process, and ask questions to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted and, more importantly, what would keep my dog comfortable and happy. You can instantly tell this isn't just a job for her - grooming is her passion and she truly cares about every pet that comes through the door. When I picked my girl up... I honestly almost didn't recognize her (in the best way possible!). Her coat has NEVER been this soft and fluffy. My previous groomer must have only been brushing the surface because Gaby got all the way down to the skin and removed every bit of undercoat. The difference is night and day - she feels like a cloud! They finished her off with the cutest little bows and a sweet feather hair extension that just made her look like an absolute princess. I'm officially a Pet Magic customer for life. Gaby treated my dog like her own and gave us the best grooming experience we've ever had. If you're looking for someone who genuinely loves what they do and delivers stunning results, book with Gaby at Pet Magic. You (and your pup) will thank me later!

That hospital put him under, took out foxtails which was a big part of it, and SAID they removed a molar, but did not do anything about the swelling on his cheek, and that they said it would go down now that they removed the foxtails. His cheek ended up bursting, draining, they did not properly shave his face and it ended up matting his hair with the pus and overall my little guy was miserable for much longer, with any concerns I placed through phone calls or emails being completely brushed off with no empathy. Fast forward to last weekend, and I find his cheek swollen... again, same spot, and I brought him in to FPH, even though they were understaffed at the time, I still got seen within about 20 minutes. Sabrina took my little guy back, and got all his stuff checked, and after looking over his mouth as best she could (my dog was very nervous from the last visit going so bad) the vet made me aware that the tooth that the other hospital said they removed, they did not. Although it was a bit expensive, they made sure that my dog was actually fully taken care of, Sabrina and Justine removed any teeth that he needed to, Dr. Wu actually went into his swollen cheek and found the one singular foxtail was SUPER dug in, his face has been properly shaved, he is MUCH happier now than he was after the other vet visit, both visibly and with his behavior, and I feel much more confident in his recovery than I did with the other hospital.

I arrived early for my dog's appointment to find that the neighborhood was rougher than expected…read more There was road construction in front of the business blocking what appeared to be the one and only spot for street parking. As I headed down the side street of auto shops and junkyards mixed in with rundown late 20th century homes I began to brood. I found a spot to park and waited a few minutes until it was closer to my appointment time. Just as I exited my car, I saw a huge, loose German Shepherd walking near the back of my car. I stood and watched as he sauntered westward down Worth Street causing the myriad of dogs along the way, chained in yards and in cages and running loose in yards, to explode in barking, growling, jumping aggression towards him. Think of the Fresh Fish scene in Shawshank redemption. The shepherd was completely unphased. I waited for him to reach California before taking my 15lb dog out of the car. We walked very quickly down the middle of the street to our own chorus of maniacal barking and rushed inside the California Cat and Dog Hospital. When the door closed behind me, I attempted a deep breath of relief but the smell of ammonia, and other unknown and unpleasant odors, began immediately burning my nostrils. My disillusionment was growing rapidly as I walked up to the front counter and gave my name an appointment time. I looked to my left and saw a bulletin board with a photo of Dr. Kim that had a quote from him saying "Every pet that comes into the clinic is my pet!" and I immediately started to feel better. After a few minutes, his son Dr. John brought us back and I explained why we were there and what we needed. I noticed immediately that he was very kind and attentive. He actually physically examined my dog and listened to her chest and back with his stethoscope. He walked us through our options and was instead of presenting us with an estimate listing every fee, he advised us the approximate cost and was willing to be flexible with blood tests and some exams that weren't absolutely necessary at the moment because he understands they can be costly. We decided to to everything he advised regardless of cost and he was able to take our pup in and take care of her. When she started to come out of anesthesia, the staff called us and we were able to get there right away to pick her up. We were very surprised at the affordable cost, even with all the of things that were done. We also asked for pain medication for her and were given a little to take home at no extra cost. We could not have been happier with the care we received at California Dog & Cat Hospital! This place is so great that it was suggested we keep it to ourselves, but there can be no gatekeeping, especially with care like this so I had to write this review. I realize it is lengthy and possibly overly descriptive, but I think it was important because if you are willing to endure the location and the smells, you will be rewarded with gentle, affordable care for your fur babies. P.S. I logged in to write this on Feb 12 and they have updated/notified yelp that they will be closed (Lunar New Year). Most businesses can't even be bothered to put in their correct regular hours on the site so it's just another reminder of the thoughtfulness of the doctors here. I am so happy we found this place.
