She managed to fit me in and was so kind about it. From the moment I walked in, the salon felt clean, spacious, and welcoming. Chi did my pedicure, and she was amazing. Super friendly, funny, and very detail-oriented. She took her time, especially with the corners of my toes (which are always tricky for me), and finished with a relaxing massage. Ann did my Gel-X set, and she was just as wonderful. She really listened to the shape I wanted and took her time to make sure everything looked perfect. While checking out, I met one of the owners, Alex. He was so genuine and truly cared about my experience. He shared that they built the business from the ground up and are celebrating their third anniversary in August. You can really feel the pride he has in the shop. I rarely write reviews, but this place is a hidden gem in Pasadena. I wasn't planning on switching salons, but they definitely gained a new customer!

Crystal is very detail oriented, efficient and offers color recommendations, which I appreciate. I've been going to Crystal for about 6 months and I'm obsessed. My hard gel lasts about 4-5 weeks without chipping. I schedule appts about 4 weeks apart, so I have yet to see a nail chip. I love that my appts don't take forever and that I've never had to wait longer than 5 mins to be seated for a service. I get gel pedicures with Mandy, she is so gentle and friendly. There's nothing worse than experiencing pain or cringing during a pedicure bc it hurts, that won't happen with Mandy! I love that I can book through Vagaro! The atmosphere is peaceful, clean and classy. I do believe you can truly unwind here! Parking is also a plus. When you're done with your appt, pop into Dots & get a cupcake for a full on self care day. I will continue going to Lumi & will report back. PS. My pedicure was really poorly done - it seemed like it was her first time ever doing nails. The nails were cut unevenly, she didn't do any sort of cuticle care, barely even took all the previous paint off that I had, then painted sooooo poorly... it looked like I could've done better. My manicure was ok... but felt really upcharged for a gel builder ($60???!) The ladies were super sweet but I think they need some more skilled technicians in here. And frankly, the customer service varies depending on whether the one of the owners is present or not. I went in this past Friday, walked in at 6:40 pm, told the 2 girls at the counter that I wanted a pedicure and gel ex removal. The hostess said ok, so I proceeded to pick out a color. I sat and waited about 10 min, no one was saying anything, not even the guy who normally does my gelx, or the older lady who's usually in charge. Everyone was giving me side eye looks and rushing out the back door. I got the feeling of "she'll figure it out we're closing." It was a bit humiliating. Amy came and said she'd do my pedicure once she got free. I appreciated her so much for taking me on. When I asked her if anyone would be able to do my nails, she wasn't sure. I disclosed that I was having a surgical procedure the next morning and would appreciate if someone could take them off (per drs request). She took immediate action and went to the 2 young girls at the front desk. When she told them that it was an urgent request bc of my procedure, one of the girls replied with, "Well she should have came sooner." That was kinda hurtful bc little did she know that my procedure was emergency stat. And regardless of my procedure, if they weren't going to have time for me, they should have told me when I checked in, instead of having me wait, and I could have gone down the street to one of the other nail salons. Amy turned to another nail tech who was helping another client. Asked if she could accommodate, and yes she asked Vilan if he would be able to take them off and he did. I appreciated him for it. After my services were done, I left within the hour and would have taken 35 min overall had I been seen right away. I've been a loyal customer to Nailtique since they opened but that girls comment and their lack of communication upon check in was disappointing.
