That's been said, if you have a typical Asian guy with hair traits like mine (thick & straight), I highly recommend you give it a try at this hidden gem in Monrovia. I cut my hair every 3-4 weeks, and I get a perm once a 3-4 months at Yumi's place. Yes, you read it right, I get a perm. I know getting men's perm is not common in the U.S, but the truth is it's such an undervalued thing here because permed hair is incredibly easy to manage, which is usually not the case for a typical thick straight Asian guy hair. Additionally, Yumi's place has very low covid risk as it's an individually owned salon, and the only person you meet in person is Yumi. She is very careful about maintaining covid sanitization and I feel safe each time I go there.
