The person who did my daughter's nails did a nice job on her nails but she wasn't very personable. My person was a little more friendly and did a lovely job as well. My daughter really liked the vibe of the place in the photos and is one of the reasons we picked it. It's got a very cool look but in terms of comfort I prefer the massage chairs at other places. It's in Old Town Pasadena so parking can be tricky.

The day OF less than an hour before my new appt time and pushed it an hour. Ok fine whatever Lisa is (I'm assuming) the owner and the receptionist interrupted three times to ask what they should tell customers throughout my appointment. She immediately told me we couldn't do builder gel because my nails were too short. Okay, I'll keep being flexible. I had chosen a design and showed.explained it to Lisa. She expressed that one of the colors I chose might be too sheer for the intended purpose, which was correct. I asked her to help me find an alternative that was lighter than the example picture. She brought me a few colors that were continuously darker. I decided to go with a solid color instead of the design I came in wanting. One of the other employees made a comment in Vietnamese that I was being difficult with my color selections. I did not engage. This did put me off vibewise though that they were busy enough to push peoples appointments, but that I couldn't ask for what I wanted to pay for. I then canceled my pedicure. Overall, the gel-x nails we did instead look nice and the price ($70) is pretty fair for the surrounding areas. I was just disappointed in the way I kept feeling put off as a paying customer. I fully recognize this is a first world problem, but it was frustrating nonetheless.

They offer a complimentary drink which is very thoughtful. Their prices are on par with the area (so a little bit higher) but it's well worth it for the service and outcome. I paid $50 for a "pamper me" pedicure which included massage, scrub, and callus removal. $30 for a classic manicure. Their massage chairs are strong, love them! They've been very accommodating even when I call last minute and will do their best to squeeze me in if possible (eg: called for mani/pedi, they said they only had a slot for one service, but when I showed up they were able to provide both services). I've been to a lot of salons of varying price points and this one is my favorite in the area.

My partner and I booked Olivia and Evelyn because of their excellent reviews on Vagaro. But upon arrival, my partner was directed to Olivia and I was seated with Sylvia without any acknowledgement of the change. 2. More importantly, I've been working hard to grow out my nails and wanted to make sure I kept a good amount of length. But on her initial pass with the drill, Sylvia took so much length off of my thumbnail that it had to be filed below my fingertip. I asked for a round shape but because she took so much length off, I ended up with rounded squares. I'm really upset about the length. I will say my partner's nails look great, and if I decide to return (which is a big "if") I'll be sure to book with Olivia (and hopefully get who I booked with).
