Let me start off by saying that I thought I couldn't grow my nails out! I came to Lumi with the hope of switching from Gel X to Hard Gel to grow out my natural nails. I was exhausted by how long Gel X manís take. I saw all the glowing reviews for Crystal and booked with her. Crystal is very detail oriented, efficient and offers color recommendations, which I appreciate. I've been going to Crystal for about 6 months and I'm obsessed. My hard gel lasts about 4-5 weeks without chipping. I schedule appts about 4 weeks apart, so I have yet to see a nail chip. I love that my appts don't take forever and that I've never had to wait longer than 5 mins to be seated for a service. I get gel pedicures with Mandy, she is so gentle and friendly. There's nothing worse than experiencing pain or cringing during a pedicure bc it hurts, that won't happen with Mandy! I love that I can book through Vagaro! The atmosphere is peaceful, clean and classy. I do believe you can truly unwind here! Parking is also a plus. When you're done with your appt, pop into Dots & get a cupcake for a full on self care day. I will continue going to Lumi & will report back. PS. The injury in my photo with the pink nails was not caused by anyone at Lumi. LOL - I was cutting a lime and it rolled. Ouch! But Crystal was super gentle throughout & was still able to give me a hard gel mani.
I called earlier in the day to request an appointment. Call didn't go through but I received a text instead - HOW NICE!! Requested a mani pedi and secured a 5PM appointment on a Sunday afternoon. What a beautiful minimalist style nail salon! Summer was my nail tech and I couldn't be happier with the service I received! My nails came out beautifully! Total visit was about 1.5 hours and less than $100 - including tip! I highly recommend!
Lumi is my go-to for the monthly nail appointment. I was a nail biter and now my nails are healthy and the longest they've ever been! I always feel so welcomed and love the team. Maple, Rebecca, and Rose have been taking care of my nails the past year and I trust each of them to do amazing jobs. I love the hard gel overlay and the variety of colors! Also the reality shows help me zone out and actually relax!
This was my first time with Summer. She was kind and the overall service was clean and professional. However, I noticed that the gel polish was applied a little too thick, which made the finish look bulkier than I prefer. I also expected a complimentary hand massage, as it's listed on the salon's website as being included with every nail service, but it was not provided during my appointment. Overall, Summer seems attentive, but I hope the polish can be applied a bit thinner and that all of the advertised service inclusions are consistently provided in the future.
Rebecca always does an excellent job she is so talented. Most of the time I tell her do what you think. I'm always suprised!
Congratulations on your second location, Lumi! Their new studio is the new neighbor to Oh Shiny and Dots Cafe, and shares a lot with them! Yay - parking is readily available! From beginning to end, each and every experience with Lumi is a dream. They have an online booking system through Vagaro that is accessible through the link on their Instagram page. It is quick and easy to book any artist or service that you'd like on any given date or time. I typically book back-to-back services (manicure and pedicure), and it's amazing! I have recently leaned towards gel manicures with no designs, but their artists are incredibly creative, so please out their Instagram page for their work and/or inspo! Whether I book with Crystal, Rebecca or Maple, the service is spectacular - in fact, above and beyond. I tend to have dry skin (due to excessive hand washing), and am appreciative with how mindfully they work to ensure that I am taken care of. It totally eases my anxiety, and I'd highly recommend any of Lumi's highly skilled artists. Tip: if you pay with cash, there's a stamp card option! :)
I've been a regular since I found out this nail salon! I have had multiple appointments but just gel manicures. I wanted something cute for my upcoming birthday so I booked with Crystal and omg I love my nails. They are sooo pretty and whimsical which I love. I showed her an inspo and told her she could base on that and freestyle. She drew like an artist on my nails, super fast and efficient. She understood my vision! The shape she did for me was so pretty too, I wanted short oval. I will always come back here! Pedicures were nice too :) Thanks so much Crystal. Oh she also did my friend's wedding nails, super super pretty!
I've visited their location off Lake a few times but was a bit far and parking is terrible. Since they opened the second location (closer to my house) I'm definitely going to visit more often! Plus side this location has way better parking. Showed a nail inspo and Mandy hit it out the park! Love my manicure!! Book w/them you won't regret it!
TL;DR: Lumi Nail Salon is the best in LA -- Crystal and the team are true artists who never miss. I always leave obsessed with my nails! Lumi Nail Salon is truly the best! Crystal is an absolute artist -- she can make almost anything I dream up come to life on my nails. I've never once left disappointed; every set she's done has been beyond beautiful. The attention to detail, creativity, and care she puts into her work are unmatched. The whole team at Lumi is so talented -- everyone there is an artist in their own way. Whether I'm going for something minimalist or super intricate, they always deliver perfectly. I always walk out loving my nails and already excited for my next appointment!
I love this place! It's clean, the nail techs are really nice and they do a great job! So happy that I found a place in Pasadena that delivers consistently great service and amazing nails each and every time! Maple is so sweet and also somehow remembered not inly my preferred color and shape etc but everything we'd talked about and asked follow ups at my next appointments. Kinda want to gatekeep so she doesn't get too busy to see me, but also, she is awesome and deserves ALL the praise!
I've been a Lumi Loyalist for 4 years now (!!) and honestly Crystal never misses. So glad she opened a second location- the whole vibe is so cute, clean, and calm. It's one of those places where you instantly feel like you're treating yourself just by walking in. Crystal always kills it with my nails, she's super precise, gentle, and just gets it. Even if I don't know what design I want, she somehow reads my mind and it always turns out perfect. They offer such a wide range of cateye colors and the nail charms are endless. All the Lumi girls at this location are talented too, you can literally sit with anyone and walk out feeling refreshed and put together.

One of the best nail salons I've ever been to!! I booked an appointment for my sister and myself last week at this nail studio, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well our nails came out!! I got the cat eye gel manicure and my sister got the cat eye gel manicure with design. In total, it was about $65 for mine and my sisters was about $75. In total we paid about $140 before tip, which I think is a great deal. They did such an amazing job on our nails!! At other nail salons, they are really rough when they prep the nail for the manicure. I usually bleed when nail techs clear my cuticles. But not at Lumi!! They expertly prepped my nail and made them look so nice with no blood or pain involved. I selected Han Han for my manicure and Maple did my sisters design manicure. Both nail techs were so kind, patient, and caring when doing our nails. Han Han helped me pick out my color too!! 10/10 great service and I am making this my new nail salon! Oh and be careful, they have 2 locations!! Don't be a dummy like me and show up to the Lake location when your appointment is at the Colorado location! read more

LUMI CONTINUES TO SPARK JOY almost 4 years later....I have been going to Lumi, specifically Crystal, every month like clockwork since January 2022. I live in the IE and the drive out is worth every single dollar (although this new location is a few exits closer!). Crystal has always been meticulous when it comes to the quality of her work, and that has not changed despite both studios being consistently booked and busy. She's not only discerning when it comes to nail art and what would look good, but also when it comes to handpicking all the talented and skilled artists at her studios as well. I always get Japanese gel with designs (with the occasional gel x extensions for special events) and the way my nails are sooooo healthy and strong and unbreakable shocks all of my friends who get their nails done at other places. I will let my photos speak for themselves, but I know every time I go to Crystal it's not just about getting the design on the nails...she also does such an amazing job taking care of removal, filing them down, and maintaining the integrity and quality of your nails and making sure its at its best before getting to the designs. She's also very detail-oriented, never rushes you even if she's running behind, and you can tell she loves her craft because her work has only gotten more deft over the years, like she practices and keeps up to date on all the new techniques / products. Plus, she's always very sweet and patient with my crazy requests / ideas, is accommodating, and always communicative. Even when my nails grow out or there's a long time between appts the my nails / designs don't chip and they still look brand new! I can never go anywhere else, & I'd follow Crystal & Lumi anywhere and everywhere! read more
New location! Super bright space with ample parking. It's easy to book an appointment and most of the techs are very talented. Crystal, the owner, does super amazing work. I get Gel X manicures from her and she never disappoints. She executes your desired designs and the nails last. Highly recommend. read more

First time at Lumi and it was so great! The salon is beautiful and peaceful. I absolutely loved my Japanese gel from Mandy! She was so detail oriented and patient with me despite not having a super clear idea of what I wanted. She totally nailed it, pun intended. Plus is that parking was easy and next to the cutest gift shop and cafe! read more

I've been going to Lumi Nails for about a year with Crystal and I swear everyone there including herself is so talented. I spent a long time searching for a nail studio that specialized in nail art and Asian nail designs and I've finally found them! They are reasonably priced and always replicate whatever design I show them, the proof is in the pictures! All of the ladies are so welcoming and the tv entertainment is chefs kiss. I've recommended my coworkers to this place and they make great gift card options! Love love this place, finally found my forever nail place read more

I've had only amazing experiences here only! I was looking for a new nail studio after moving back from college in 2022 and found Crystal through Instagram! I haven't stopped going since! She does the best nails! I mean, just look at some of the nails she's done! My mom even comes with me and she's gotten her nails done from the other ladies before as well. They've always turned out amazing. Everything is top quality and all of the employees know what they're doing. They all have a good sense of style as well and can offer good advice should you be an indecisive person like me! Despite the salon being in Pasadena and me having to drive 1.5 hrs in traffic to get there usually, it's 100% worth it. And that says a lot since I hate driving with a passion. The shows that they put on while doing nails are also so entertaining! Vibes are awesome! 10/10 recommend! read more

I highly recommend Lumi Nail Studio to everyone; I look forward to all my appointments here. The salon is very clean and comfortable and Lumi staff are kind and welcoming. I like intricate nails with lots of details and 3D design and my go-to artist is Crystal; she is an amazing nail artist who ALWAYS understands my ideas, knows what I like, and adds her own touch to make all my nails unique and breathtaking. My nails always came out better than I envisioned them- Crystal executes them flawlessly, I'd say even better than the inspo photos! Crystal is incredibly professional, detailed, and talented. I am lucky to have found my go-to nail place and artist. read more

I've been going to see Crystal since around December of 2022 and I am COMMITTED (like 1 hour drive one way committed yalls)!! She always is so detail oriented and understands the vibe I am going for. Now that I've been seeing her for so long she also gets my aesthetic and what I like! Every set she works on never chips and lasts for weeks. I do hard gel (with design) on my natural nails and they always stay strong! Everyone who works at Lumi is also so kind and sweet. I've referred MANY friends here who also love Lumi. I've attached some of my favorite sets from the year Hopefully this review convinces at least one person to visit Lumi and get their nails done You won't regret it!! read more

Been coming to Crystal every month for almost 2-3 years now! She's talented, professional and creative- sometimes when I don't know what design I'd like to do, she'd always discuss her ideas and create for me. The salon space and their bathroom are always clean, organized and bright! All staffs and technicians there are nice! Highly recommend to anyone who has high standard when it comes to creative and quality nails :) read more

I've been seeing Crystal at Lumi Nail Studio for almost two years now and she never misses! I originally started going to her at their Lake Ave location, but she recently moved to the new Colorado spot. I love 3D art and funky designs, and she always nails the inspo every time. I've been going to Crystal for over six years now, and I truly can't imagine trusting anyone else with my nails. She's incredibly kind, patient, and somehow remembers every single conversation we've ever had -- even with her busy schedule and all her clients. It honestly feels like catching up with a friend every time I sit in her chair. I usually get Gel X, and she's super creative, quick, and precise. My nails always come out flawless -- the shape, the designs, everything. And the best part? They never break or chip. Ever. I get so many compliments on my nails, and it's all thanks to her magic. Both salons are always spotless with great vibes. Even though I stick with Crystal, I've been around long enough to know the other ladies are just as talented and friendly. It's just an all-around great team. If you're looking for a someone who's consistent, creative, and genuinely cares about her clients, Crystal is the one. I'd give her 10 stars if I could! read more

I've been going to Crystal for a little over 5 years and each time I've seen her, my nails turn out so pretty! Crystal always does an amazing job - my gel manicures last for weeks, and I always get compliments on them. So happy that Lumi Nail Studio has this second location! The parking is really convenient. There's a parking lot right in front of the nail studio and street parking is also available. The Lumi team is always so kind and professional. It's the only place I trust with my nails. Made an appointment cause I was referred by a colleague. My nails have been sensitive with manicure. The last 2 manicure's I had at a different salon wasn't great and made the experience traumatic. I am really hopeful that this place could revive my love for mani-pedi. So far Evelyn has been great. I told her my story and she took good care of my nails. Even though I had made a mistake of cutting my nails too short the night before my appointment. She worked on it like a pro and managed to redeem my nails. Will update my review in a few weeks to see how long it lasts or if it damage my nails after taking off. I am keeping my hopes up that this will be the place I go to from now on. read more

Before I started going to a Crystal, my nails were always so brittle and a gel mani would last me only 2 weeks or so. Four years later, and now my nails have never been healthier! Best nail salon EVER!! I've been a loyal customer of crystals for almost I think over 2 years now and have been coming back regularly to get my nails done by her.
