Sophie does amazing work. She's a one-person business and she'll give your nails the attention they deserve. You're not getting a rushed job even if it's a classic mani-pedi with Sophie. She's incredibly detail oriented. Whether it's normal polish or Japanese gel, she's so exact with her work. Sophie introduced me to Japanese gel. It is so hard to apply right, but Sophie always gets it perfect. I end up with a very thin layers, with perfect coverage, that lasts so long. It takes a different technique to apply. The first time I had it, it really lasted 4 weeks. It grew out before any came off. No wonder Sophie stands by it. She really knows her stuff! Recently, I tried nail extensions for the first time with Sophie. It was incredible! Being the newbie to nail extensions, Sophie was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the whole process. I wanted them to make my hotdog fingers seem longer and thinner, and as natural looking as possible. I asked to "Make them thin"--whatever that means. Sophie took it a step further to go over care, length, shape, design ideas, pros/cons over different nail extensions, and figuring out what would make me most comfortable. I ended up with Gelip, in a short-medium length, with almond shape tip. My hands looked instantly healthier and more beautiful. She sent me sooo many design ideas fhat I went with a style inspired by a pic she shared. I loved how they came out and it was such an easy experience. I kept them for 3 weeks and then had them removed because I was about to travel and I knew I'd be handling my heavy luggage alone through NYC transit. My nails were still looking amazing until the end. No chips, no cracks, no wear&tear, secure & sturdy, and comfortable! It was a shame to take them off. They could have gone on a few weeks longer if I wanted. Sophie is my go-to when I want flawless gel nails. She's no different when it comes to nail extensions--acrylic, gelX, and gelip. She's highly critical of her own work and has a high level of attention to detail. But what I really appreciate about her is how she takes EXTRA STEPS and MORE TIME to make sure your nail work lasts. A friend recommended me to Sophie because of her attention to detail and excellent nail designs. I rarely get my nails done so trying to figure out what I wanted for my wedding was definitely a challenge for me. She worked with me sending inspo photos on Instagram back and forth.
