This is similar to other reviews about the Twin Wok. This place would be out of business in Seattle, SF, etc., and would warrant two-stars. However, for Ely, NV, this is A-OK. We ordered two dishes to be extra-extra-spicy. It was pretty good. Tender meat too. Rice was Meh, but a large quantity that we did not come close to finishing. BTW, a very friendly, and receptive staff. They get 4-stars. When passing through Ely, stop here. read more

I have stopped here several times when passing through. The food is very good and the service is great. The kung pao is nice and hot and the veggies are crisp and not overcooked. A nice place to stop when heading down highway 93. read more

The LUNCH buffet is small but has all the essentials and very delicious. The food is great and quality for your typical fast Chinese food joint. By far the best Chinese food on Ely Nevada. I would not hesitate eating here and quite often so for there lunch box take out special or for dinner ever now and then. It's unlikely for us to travel this way again but if we do, Twin Wok can expect to see us! We had the General's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, and the Combo Fried Rice. A LARGE complimentary side of steamed rice was also served with our meal. We were served quickly and, regrettably, had to leave leftovers as we were hitting the road. We fed 2 adults and 4 kids ranging from ages 5-12. As mentioned by others, the atmosphere is the only area lacking. read more

If you are trying to escape the heat in Las Vegas, Ely, NV at 6,500 ' is a good alternative with a temperature 30 degrees lower. The Twin Wok restaurant on Hwy 93 is a good fast and inexpensive stop. Family run it excels in service. The food was excellent with very fresh and crunchy vegetables. Next time I'm escaping the heat I'll stop. read more

We were in Ely just for one night and wanted to find a place to eat. We decided to try Twin Wok, since it was a short walk (no pun intended) from our motel. It definitely met our expectations based on what we read on Yelp. The service was quick and courteous. Once we ordered our food came quickly and was delicious. Stopped here for lunch based on yelp reviews. This place was packed! A small buffet but constantly restocking with fresh hot food. Everything I tried was good. The staff was as responsive as needed for a buffet. Bathroom was a little odd with shower curtain stall but overall this was a solid Chinese buffet. read more

Better than average Chinese food. We had Orange Chicken, Kung Pow Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice. All three dishes were fresh and very flavorful. My dish, Spicy Chicken was a little spicier than usual which I loved. read more

I live in Vegas and am always surprised at how hard it is to find decent Chinese food there. Now, here I find myself in Ely, and the food at Twin Wok is better than all but two of the Chinese restaurants I have eaten at in Las Vegas over the decades I have lived there. I had the beef and string beans. The dish was stir fried to perfection. I especially liked how they cut the beef into very small pieces for MAXIMUM FLAVOR. I came at dinner, when their buffet is closed, but I look forward to coming back for the lunch buffet and more items to try out. read more

we are locals and love Chinese food. have gone to twin wok a few times now but will not go again. the lunch buffet had a fair assortment but the food is always cold. the soup is the only thing hot! The health dept. should check the steam table. luckily there is another Chinese place in town. read more

We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and tried this place. I'll say this easily competes with the better Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. The fried rice was perfect, as was the orange chicken. The food was not too oily as many Chinese restaurants can be. I've been here about 4 times in 3 years....... good chinese food..........good,fresh egg rols and the chicken chow mein is nice also. Sweet and sour chicken is good.......nice clean place...... We were there near closing and watched the workers cleaning all over and when we walked by the mop bucket you could really smell the bleach which to me means it's a safe/clean place to eat. Im here on business staying down at the La Quinta. The food is excellent and authentic. They serve beer too so that's a plus. The only downside is the environment. There's mud on the floor and place feels a bit run down. I had the orange chicken and I would definately recommend giving it a shot. If you dont mind an older atmosphere, this place is probably for you. The service was also good, the food was good, and the staff was friendly. read more

Food was good! Very surprised that there would be good Chinese food in the middle of Nevada. We had the general chicken which was good, chicken broccoli which was the best I've ever had, and sweet and sour pork which was good. The hot and sour soup and egg rolls were on par. They had really good chicken wings! They came with the meal and were fried to golden perfection! Service was ok, as the waitress spent time looking at her phone when we needed refills on water, but I would definitely go again. read more

Where to begin. Me and my companion came here because we weren't happy with another restaurant but let me tell you how fortuitous for us because we happened upon this little gem. First off this place is super clean. Even the metal on the buffet table shined. The server was super nice and very courteous and prompt. We both ordered the same thing the server suggested we ordered separate things, but we were set. We should have listened because when our food was delivered they set before us a serving dish full of fried rice and our entrees were massive. We could have easily order two different things and both be completely satisfied with variety. The food was fresh and tasty. For only 12 dollars and change it was a steal for sure. They do have a lunch buffet from 11am to 3pm for 11.99 which we will also sample before we leave town. If you come to Ely stop by this place with a friend or 3 order a variety and be amazed. As another review stated, had this Chinese restaurant been located within civilization, it would have been out of buisness long ago. But being in the wilds of eastern Nevada, its good for what we got. Skip the lunch buffet of soggy stuff sitting on a steam table, and order one of the lunch specials. $6 or so for a good portion of your choice of about 25 items, fried rice, egg roll (more like a fried spring roll with a hint of meat), and soup. read more

Found this nice restaurant on yelp. We both tried the general chicken and found it to be very nice. We were very promptly greeted and seated. Our meal was served very quickly. They recently changed ownership. It really isn't the same. Just ho-hum. Service is ho-hum, the whole vibe is just ho-hum. I notice the parking lot isn't nearly as full as it used to be when I drive by, Other locals must think the same. It used to be hard to get in the place at noon. Most disgusting place I've ever been. Filthy, horrible service. I've been to Mexico for 18 years on a small island I've been in bad eating establishments there but this was worse. Place hadn't been cleaned in years. Had the buffet, walked out, paid but couldn't eat anything. Smelled bad and the buffet cart was nasty. Only gave it one star because I had to. read more
