Contrary to what others have said, I have eaten their "five star" Chinese in the big cities and wasn't impressed. The food here is top notch (they have won awards for it and have them for people to see), and the service is excellent. There is wheel chair accessibility contrary to what the page says. The spicy food is actually spicy and they will prepare without MSG if requested, and have an all you can eat lunch buffet (order the buffet not the entrees at lunch they will just get your food off the buffet for the Ala carte) They even have children's meals for the less adventurous kid (not reccommended...American food in a Chinese food place? You tell me!) Portions are huge and prices are acceptable. A must for a good meal! Highly recommended. read more

Asked the hotel clerk at La Quinta Inn for a recommendation and he gave me this place. I ordered the BBQ Pork, Egg Rolls and the Chicken Fried Rice, my typical Chinese food order at a new place. The BBQ Pork was ok, it came bathed in a soy sauce, sauce, which I wasn't expecting, but it tasted ok. The egg rolls were good, flakey outside, crisp cabbage inside and not too greasy. The chicken fried rice was excellent. Not sure what they did with the chicken, but it was in strips about the size of wonton noodles, looks like they may have seared it before adding it to the rice. It was good though! The staff were very attentive and quick to deliver the food and refill drinks. Bottom line, I would eat here again when next in Ely. read more

The food wasn't that bad considering you're out in nowhere. The people there were pretty cool. Had Mandarin chicken, Kung pao chicken, Mongolian Beef and it tasted good.. considering where you're at once again, lol. They always came around to refill your drinks when they were low. read more

Yelp came through, this place is legit. I was by myself, so only had one dish... Mongolian Beef, but I cleared the plate. Definitely ask for a side of the chili sauce. read more

Whenever we come home for a visit, we always go to Twin Wok for their lunch buffet. The food isn't spectacular but it's pretty good and the price is all right. Don't expect a huge selection, but for a small town this a pretty good lunch. The staff is efficient, although sometimes there are issues with the language barrier. I think the best part is they have the best fortunes in their fortune cookies:) And for those who don't know-you must eat the cookie for your fortune to come true, you must wait until after your meal is finished to eat your cookie and it has to be given to you (you can't grab one). These are three main rules for fortune cookies. read more

Had garlic beef here amazing taste. Well made sauce and good cuts of meat. I would take this place over any of the Chinese food in SF or LA Chinatowns. read more

This is similar to other reviews about the Twin Wok. This place would be out of business in Seattle, SF, etc., and would warrant two-stars. However, for Ely, NV, this is A-OK. We ordered two dishes to be extra-extra-spicy. It was pretty good. Tender meat too. Rice was Meh, but a large quantity that we did not come close to finishing. BTW, a very friendly, and receptive staff. They get 4-stars. When passing through Ely, stop here. read more

I have stopped here several times when passing through. The food is very good and the service is great. The kung pao is nice and hot and the veggies are crisp and not overcooked. A nice place to stop when heading down highway 93. read more

The LUNCH buffet is small but has all the essentials and very delicious. The food is great and quality for your typical fast Chinese food joint. By far the best Chinese food on Ely Nevada. I would not hesitate eating here and quite often so for there lunch box take out special or for dinner ever now and then. Service is great as well tables cleaned and drinks kept full what more could you ask for? read more

Service was great and the food was even better. Large portions and they honored the lunch special after the time advertised. Great place to eat in Ely! read more

It's unlikely for us to travel this way again but if we do, Twin Wok can expect to see us! We had the General's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, and the Combo Fried Rice. A LARGE complimentary side of steamed rice was also served with our meal. We were served quickly and, regrettably, had to leave leftovers as we were hitting the road. We fed 2 adults and 4 kids ranging from ages 5-12. As mentioned by others, the atmosphere is the only area lacking. read more

If you are trying to escape the heat in Las Vegas, Ely, NV at 6,500 ' is a good alternative with a temperature 30 degrees lower. The Twin Wok restaurant on Hwy 93 is a good fast and inexpensive stop. Family run it excels in service. The food was excellent with very fresh and crunchy vegetables. Next time I'm escaping the heat I'll stop. read more

We were in Ely just for one night and wanted to find a place to eat. We decided to try Twin Wok, since it was a short walk (no pun intended) from our motel. It definitely met our expectations based on what we read on Yelp. The service was quick and courteous. Once we ordered our food came quickly and was delicious. We had the garlic chicken and cashew shrimp. Very yummy! We would eat there again. read more

Stopped here for lunch based on yelp reviews. This place was packed! A small buffet but constantly restocking with fresh hot food. Everything I tried was good. The staff was as responsive as needed for a buffet. Bathroom was a little odd with shower curtain stall but overall this was a solid Chinese buffet. read more

If I was home, this place would suck. But I'm not home, and I've been to other "Chinese" food in middle America. They give you a descent amount of food, and it was filling. I would recommend it, if you're tired of American food. read more

Great food; right up there with the best Chinese food I have eaten. Lemon chicken, egg rolls, wonton soup and Kung pao combo. we're are delicious. Only four stars as the dining room needed a thorough cleaning. read more

Better than average Chinese food. We had Orange Chicken, Kung Pow Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice. All three dishes were fresh and very flavorful. My dish, Spicy Chicken was a little spicier than usual which I loved. read more

As others have mentioned--given the location, this restaurant is a good choice for Chinese food. The portions are large, the staff attentive, and the food is pretty good. We will stop here to eat again when we get tired of the standard fare around town. read more

This is one of the best chinese restaurants I've ever eaten at. Egg foo young was amazing. Pleasant surprise. Maybe I was really hungry or stoned or something but, I haven't stopped thinking about that dish since. In my humble opinion it's the only place to eat in Ely. read more

I love this place. The food is always good and always fast. As far as privacy (booths) it lacks but it is always a good place for dinner. To go is always fast as well. read more

Best chinese food in ely well the only chinese food here all I can say is food wasn't that good and im being nice good service though

Im here on business staying down at the La Quinta. The food is excellent and authentic. They serve beer too so that's a plus. The only downside is the environment. There's mud on the floor and place feels a bit run down. I had the orange chicken and I would definately recommend giving it a shot. If you dont mind an older atmosphere, this place is probably for you. The service was also good, the food was good, and the staff was friendly. read more

The restaurant isn't much to look at but the food is great!! I will definitely be coming again on our way back through town.

I live in Vegas and am always surprised at how hard it is to find decent Chinese food there. Now, here I find myself in Ely, and the food at Twin Wok is better than all but two of the Chinese restaurants I have eaten at in Las Vegas over the decades I have lived there. I had the beef and string beans. The dish was stir fried to perfection. I especially liked how they cut the beef into very small pieces for MAXIMUM FLAVOR. I came at dinner, when their buffet is closed, but I look forward to coming back for the lunch buffet and more items to try out. read more

we are locals and love Chinese food. have gone to twin wok a few times now but will not go again. the lunch buffet had a fair assortment but the food is always cold. the soup is the only thing hot! The health dept. should check the steam table. luckily there is another Chinese place in town. read more

We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and tried this place. I'll say this easily competes with the better Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. The fried rice was perfect, as was the orange chicken. The food was not too oily as many Chinese restaurants can be. Hope our travels bring us around to Ely again, can't wait to get the fried rice again. read more

Great lunch buffet, always good, friendly service, reasonable prices.

Best place to get food in Ely. I've been in town for 3weeks and I think I've ate from here almost everyday!

I eat here every chance I get and had another great dinner. Egg rolls, won ton soup and Kung pao chicken were all fresh and delicious. I've been coming here off and on for two or three years and have never been disappointed. There's a buffet for lunch too. read more

Fastest service I've ever had in a non-fast food restaurant. Great chicken with green beans; good orange chicken.

Great food.. Service was good.. Fried food (wings/egg rolls) were not greasy. Nice surprise!

Food was good! Very surprised that there would be good Chinese food in the middle of Nevada. We had the general chicken which was good, chicken broccoli which was the best I've ever had, and sweet and sour pork which was good. The hot and sour soup and egg rolls were on par. They had really good chicken wings! They came with the meal and were fried to golden perfection! Service was ok, as the waitress spent time looking at her phone when we needed refills on water, but I would definitely go again. read more

As another review stated, had this Chinese restaurant been located within civilization, it would have been out of buisness long ago. But being in the wilds of eastern Nevada, its good for what we got. Skip the lunch buffet of soggy stuff sitting on a steam table, and order one of the lunch specials. $6 or so for a good portion of your choice of about 25 items, fried rice, egg roll (more like a fried spring roll with a hint of meat), and soup. read more

Where to begin. Me and my companion came here because we weren't happy with another restaurant but let me tell you how fortuitous for us because we happened upon this little gem. First off this place is super clean. Even the metal on the buffet table shined. The server was super nice and very courteous and prompt. We both ordered the same thing the server suggested we ordered separate things, but we were set. We should have listened because when our food was delivered they set before us a serving dish full of fried rice and our entrees were massive. We could have easily order two different things and both be completely satisfied with variety. The food was fresh and tasty. For only 12 dollars and change it was a steal for sure. They do have a lunch buffet from 11am to 3pm for 11.99 which we will also sample before we leave town. If you come to Ely stop by this place with a friend or 3 order a variety and be amazed. If I ever come back through I will definitely stop by again. read more

Good food and quick service! Potstickers were nice and crispy. Great tasting Shrimp Lo Mein. Was a great find on our way thru Nevada!

A group of six friends had supper there and everyone was pleased with their orders. The service was good and efficient also. My favorite sweet and sour pork was very good. I'd recommend this place for good Chinese food! read more

Lunch buffet was a nice change from hamburgers while on our road trip. Atmosphere is dated, service was moderately friendly - with low expectations and a hungry belly, you'll be satisfied. read more

5 stars. As a Chinese, I think their food are nicely made and well priced. Highly recommend.

Went for the lunch buffet. Good offering, great price, and food was pretty good. Service was fast and new food was being brought out right after it ran out. Overall great experience. read more
