VALENTINE'S DAY DINNER DISASTER - TWIN TREES RESTAURANT Twin Trees Restaurant, Avery Ave. 4 pm ,wife ordered steak special. Dinners come, my Braciole fine, but small, ok.Waitress comes back ,hadn't checked the steak yet. She leaves - restaurant filling up. Now my wife cuts into the steak, fights with dull steak knife, Steak full of fat and grizzle Waitress came back after wife gave up on her steak, big pile of fat chucks. Wife told her about it, she said manager might take few dollars off..they should of taken whole price off. Only took off $5, $25 steak . Not happy but the night ended nice, we left, went to MATTYDALE TOWN TAVERN, listened to 1 man guitar player with a couple...should have gone to the tavern and had chicken wings right from the start. ANOTHER SITE WOULD NOT POST THIS ! read more

Twin Trees on Avery Ave is the original Twin Trees restaurant and is known for the best pizza around town and it is. Their antipasto is also the best. They also have other Italian dishes of course and or an open steak is a favorite. Always crowded because the food is good along with the service. There's plenty of parking at the restaurant or across the street. So if you haven't tried it and you like pizza you're missing out on one of the best places in Syracuse. read more

Delicious gluten free pizza. The guy who took our order was super friendly. I love how they cut the pizza, easiest way to eat it! My dad loves the old school ambiance of the actual restaurant. Only reason I gave them four stars was because they said they don't deliver... often times when you order pizza it's for the convenience. But certainly worth the drive to the restaurant! Best order: garlic pizza, add spinach and ricotta. read more

The good: you'll never have to wait for a table here The bad: the food. Sometimes the times just catch up with you and blow by you. This is considered a west side staple. And because of that, you can see why the food scene in Syracuse is so shitty. Pizza sucks. It was the only game in town forever. Now it isn't Decent at best read more

I've tried and tried to like the food but it's not even close to good. I had the steak sandwich. It's on the menu as served with onion petals. That should read onion petal, singular. I got one rather small soggy piece. The steak which I had ordered medium was well done and dry. Couldn't taste much seasoning either. All in all, a pretty poor effort. Had I been dining in the restaurant, I would have sent it back but when you've got home with it, you really don't want to go out again. As I've said before, I really don't like to have to write negatively but maybe I can save a few people from this institution that is clearly resting on long gone laurels. Last time for me. read more

First and foremost, the servers are great!!!!! Been coming here for years. Lately pizza is inconsistent in taste unlike the old days. Ordered a pizza today and it barely has any cheese on it and the bottom was over cooked. Just wish it was consistent like it was in the past. read more

Great food and service, will definitely order from there again. I ordered two large pizzas and they were so good. Front staff was nice.

IMITATED BUT NEVER EQUALLED!! Whether long ago after a night out with college buddies or, as now, to satisfy insatiable adult craving for the best pizza anywhere, Twin Trees has been my "Go To Place", The quality of the fare and of the staff has never been compromised, even when business was severely challenged, during two plus years of the COVID 19 pandemic. A key element of the Twin Trees long record of success is Don Ross, the "on site" and involved owner who both cooks in the kitchen and mixes it up with the customers every day. A rarity for restaurants in modern times. Others have tried to copy the name and even tag lines of the "original "Twin Trees, but they will never equal the quality. In my book, there is only ONE genuine Twin Trees Restaurant! read more

After skiing at Song Mountain all day my parents took me to Twin Tree's Restaurant. There are several Twin Trees in the Syracuse. I have both order pizza and ate at the Twin Trees II location on Milton Ave but this is the first time I have been to the Avery Ave location. In the Syracuse area Twin Trees is considered the best pizza. I actually think that this is some of the best pizza I have ever had. There is just something about pizza in Syracuse. People come to Twin Trees for the pizza but it also has a full menu. I would describe the menu as Italian Diner fair. Lots of home pasta as well as meat, chicken and fish items prepared either Italian or Americana style. The atmosphere is neighborhood sports bar with full service restaurant. We ordered two small pizzas (one garlic and one cheese with pepperoni). We almost ordered 1 small and 1 large but we changed our mind and made them both smalls. This was the right thing to do since we had plenty to eat and still had lots leftover for the next day lunch. Since the pizzas were coming later than usual the server offered to bring out bread. This contributed to a carb over load that we probably did not need. I also order the small chef salad with crumbled bleu cheese dressing (a Syracuse standard) which is home made italian dressing mixed with crumbled bleu cheese. In the end it turned into a great night out with my parents. Not a bad way to close out a full day of skiing. Twin Trees is always crowded so expect a wait on Friday and Saturday evenings. Especially the early dining hours. read more

Great tasting food and service at a fantastic price! Took the grandkids there after Disney and they enjoyed it.

In went there tonight with my boyfriend for a late dinner and it was just okay. Our food was good however our service left something to be desired. Our server was good when we first sat down but ended up flying past us most of the night. I had a question about an dish when he brought our drinks but he just put the drinks down and basically ran away from us. It took awhile between our salads and meals came and they were just warm and not hot. Hopefully it was just an off night ‍ read more

Haven't been to this location in a long time but it's exactly what I remembered. A small, family friendly, delicious Italian restaurant. Brought friends for their first Twin Trees experience and did they love it! The chicken riggies and eggplant parm are my favorite dishes. This last time though, the eggplant was a bit overcooked. Will have to get their famous pizza next time!! read more

We asked for the basketball game to be put on in the bar, we were the only patrons in the whole bar, yet they could only put the game on the smallest, and blurriest TV. The other 6 TVs had the weather channel, golf, a press conference, spectrum news, and a repeat Indy race, but we got a simple 'no' when asked to put it on a different tv. Rude and no conversation in an empty bar. Felt weird and found a different place. So strange. read more

Normally, this place is pretty awesome. Last time we ordered form here though, it was TERRIBLE. We ordered a large pizza with half cheese, and half olive and onions. Somehow, we got a pizza with pineapple and bacon all over it. Without that bad experience, I would give this place 3-4 stars, but it's just annoying. read more

Overrated and over priced. They left out two items in our takeout order and failed to offer any suitable reimbursement or credit. The best they could offer was for us to come and pick up the forgotten items (and then return home to eat cold pizza). I'm not sure how this could be the answer offered by a business that consistently forgets things but they have failed to recognize this on each and every occasion. We have let this slide in the past, but last night was the third and final strike. All they had to do was: a) apologize, b) offer credit for future purchase or an additional pizza or salad. We will never give them another cent. The pizza is overrated and over priced. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This place has been around for over 60 years and the quality of food and service here is always outstanding; Katie is the best waitresses! I've been all over the country and Twin Trees is still my favorite pizza place! Their crust is light, fluffy and is a little crispy on the edges. The toppings, cheese and their sauce is always yummy. Every other place around has soggy oily pizza or wings that are either to dry from over frying or overly oily. They also make the Italian classics well, huge portions here! Great family place and environment, they get packed on the weekends so make reservations! This is the original restaurant also, every other Twin Trees restursnt around is still owned by the same family :) read more

Whenever I'm in Syracuse all I need to hear are 2 special words to make it a good trip... Twin trees. There a few different locations and I always order pizza from them. This location is a full restaurant that also has a party space in the back. I always get pizza here even though they offer more because how could you not! I love the way it is cut. The little rectangles are perfect for helping you not overeat although not over eating here is hard. I love the garlic pizza and pepperoni and bacon pizza. The staff is always friendly and helpful whether you are in the party space or dining on your own. The decor is a bit outdated and the bathrooms are really small but honestly you go there for the amazing pizza not the decor. I love it here and will always love it here. It will continue to be my go to place for pizza on Syracuse. read more

Apparently this place wins "best pizza in Syracuse" yearly. I don't know what that says about the quality of food in Syracuse. Like so many restaurants in Syracuse this place also had faded green cloth napkins and decor from 1983. I think it's supposed to feel homely. The pizza was okay. Nothing special. And the rest of the portions of food were gigantic. My friend ordered a side of gnocchi and we were pretty certain that the dish contained at least a week's worth of calories. Everything was pretty heavy and greasy. On the positive side, the staff were exceptionally friendly and pleasant and in a very genuine way. I felt like I was being served by a real person. We had a large party and some pretty complicated (ie, exceedingly fussy) orders and our waitress was in great spirits about it--she joked around with us, seemed to really enjoy what she was doing. It was nice! After dinner I wanted to give her a big hug to say thanks! read more

This is my favorite pizza place in Syracuse by far. Although they don't sell slices, when you're in the mood for pizza, I highly recommend Twin Trees. The one we go to is on Route 57 in Liverpool, but I've been to a few of the others and they never disappoint. In fact, even when we lived almost a half hour away we would travel to TT to pick up pizza at least once a month. Give them a try! read more

I've always heard great things about Twin Trees so I decided to stop in the original location. I got in close to closing so the only thing i was able to get was the pizza. But thats okay because its the pizza that i often hear great things about. So, how did reality compare with the hype? Pretty darn close. I got a sausage and pepperoni pie and it didn't disappoint. The crust is thin and there was a nice combination of cheese on a flavorful sauce. The toppings were just the right amount and blended in well with the crust, cheese and sauce. Next time, I will get there earlier so I can try some of the other menu items. We got there so close to closing, our poor waitress zipped right to her car as soon as she provided us our check. read more

Twin Trees is highly known for its "Syracuse Style" pizza, which is pizza is somewhere between Chicago-style and NY-style, cut into strips lengthwise, and served with a signature garlic-tomato sauce. Plenty of other local joints have duplicated it either in taste or appearance over the decades (Daniella's Steak House in Geddes at one time claimed to have the original sauce and pizza recipe). Personally, I'm not totally in love with Syracuse Style pizza, if there is such a thing, but do seek it out on occasion. Anyway, I came here with my family of 6. Drank lots of wine and ate lots of pizza; one with extra cheese and one with sausage, peppers, and onions. The pizza was a tad on the greasy side, but had a nice, sweet-garlicy sauce, thin dough with a decent amount of "give", and really great crust that was not at all dry. The pizza is worth a try if you haven't had it before. Not my main choice as far as local pie goes - still hard to top Gianni's, Pavone's, or even Flame - but Twin Trees is a worthy mention; if only for the tradition aspect. Also I should give a nod to the stuffed cherry peppers appetizer I had as well - red and green cherry peppers filled with delicious ground beef and topped with lots of mozz and a sweet marinara sauce. Very spicy and vinegary if you're into that. read more

IMHO, best location is in East Syracuse. This is one of the better local pizzerias in general. Pros: Fantastic NY Style pizza, great subs, very reasonable/competitive prices. Cons: Their slices are square! As a pizza lover, this offended me, but I bounce back pretty quickly. The building(s) at most locations are slightly dumpy. read more

The pizza is great but everything else there is just ok. The slices are in between a Chicago slice and and a New York style pizza, not too thick and not too thin. Prices are good though. read more

One of my most favorite pizza places and great Italian food. Many places are either good at just pizza and not Italian dishes or good ITalian dishes and not pizza. This place does both really well! Go on a weeknight and get the awesome pizza, wing, pitcher of beer deal. Can't beat it! I also love their antipasto - great homemade dressing. Definitely a thrown back to the past when you walk in, but in a good way! I like the pizza with extra sauce (not quite enough for my liking) and they make a delicious "Gourmet" Pizza. It's the type of place you can't wait to visit when you have moved out of town and you come back home. Great local joint. read more

This is in regards to the North Syracuse location.... So many people rant & rave about how awesome twin trees is. About 2 years ago my husband and I finally tried it out by ordering pizza & wings to go. The verdict - meh. The pizza was okay. I know slicing their pizza in strips is their 'thing', but I think it's silly. If I wanted strips of pizza I would go to Pizza Hut and get cheezy bread or whatever it is on their commercials (I haven't had pizza hut since I was about 8 years old since they are crap too). Definitely points lost for the cut of their pizza. Moving on to the wings - they were HUGE. Couldn't complain about the size of the jumbo wings, but the flavor and texture on the other hand wasn't good. We ordered hot wings and they were more like mild/medium. Also, I dont know if we just got a bad batch, but they were rubbery! We dont ever order crispy wings, but I think you have to at this place just to get them to be sortof cooked properly. Fast forward to about 6 months ago. We decided to give them another try and dine in this time to order their Italian food. Boy was this a mistake! I ordered the chicken franciase and my husband ordered the lasagna. The chicken was a fried chicken cutlet that they slapped some lemon sauce on top. It was gross and practically inedible. The lasagna was also very bad. My husband ate about 1/4 of it and we didn't bother taking our leftovers home. Our waitress was very nice, and I can't say anything bad about the staff we encountered. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back to twin trees again. Way to many other great Italian/pizza places in Syracuse than here. read more

I've been a customer since 1978. My patronage ended yesterday when I called with a pizza order. The man who answered asked if my order was for delivery or pickup. I asked for delivery to Lakeland. He responded, "we don't deliver to Lakeland during the State Fair!", and then hung up the phone. He never gave me the option to pick up my order, which I was willing to do. My business went to Johnny Mac's of Lakeland. Service was great and pizza delicious. Johnny Mac's is now my pizza go to place. Sorry Twin Trees, you missed out on a $100 pizza order. You need to retrain your staff to be polite and thorough on the phone. read more

when i came here last month, it was good. the pizza my bf and i got were half Hawaiian pizza and i forgot what we got for the other half. regardless, the pizza overall was super tasty and great. the server were super nice and so was the bartender. i highly recommend if you're in syracuse! visiting from nyc, this place was really good! just as food as nyc pizza :) this is family/kids friendly place & good for couples as well! read more

Best pizza in Syracuse hands down. Look on the walls over the kitchen, awards everywhere. The pizzas are cut into strips unless you ask for the state fair slices, if it's your first time.. stick to the slices. Completely different style of pizza. The best next day cold pizza you will have. That's a promise. The wings are also just as good. If you are looking for sit down Italian, there are always specials and the Italian is a very good option. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed read more
