Yet despite such a low bar for beating the competition, Peoples Storage still goes above and beyond to provide great security, facilities, and customer service. Accessing the unit is easy, the bay is huge, the elevators are large, and I've never had to wait on someone else to access my unit. They have a bunch of dollies on site and their shop is very fairly priced if you need a lock, boxes or packing material. The building is gated making it even more secure. I highly recommend this place especially if your items are valuable or would benefit from temperate control.

First of all, the facility is very secure and I feel very comfortable storing my things there and being on the property even at night. Each renter has their own individual entrance code to get beyond the gate and to take the elevator. The elevator will only take the renter to their individual floor, adding another layer of security. Another cool thing is that on many of their units the door is on the wide side of the unit (e.g., for a 10 x 5, the door is on the 10' side) which makes it really easy to access your stuff without having to take a bunch of stuff out. When I first started storing there I worked mostly with Tiffany, the manager. She provided great customer service and was always willing to go the extra mile to answer questions and provide me with additional information. On top of that she is very friendly and positive and it makes for great interactions with her. I recently began working with Scott, the assistant manager, when I needed to upgrade to a bigger storage space. I wasn't sure what size I needed and I was in a time crunch, so I was frazzled and indecisive but was so grateful that Scott was so patient and helpful. He was very understanding and worked to make the transition go smoothly even with all my indecisiveness. He really went the extra mile to find me a solution to my expanded storage needs that was close to my current storage space and without incurring a lot of extra costs. I am really grateful for his help during this stressful time. I also had the pleasure of working with Colby, who was in training when I met him. Everyone is hurting in today's economy, but these guys have no qualms about raising your rent time after time after time. We have paid our rent diligently for several years (at least five, but I'm unsure of the exact number). We pay on time every time and we've never been late. That doesn't matter to them. I don't know the exact measurements of our unit, but it's not a big one. I think it's 7x10. The advertised price for a 7.5 x 10 unit is $82 right now. It feels like a grift to me! The benefits of this place (security and cleanliness) are not worth the price. If you are going to get a storage unit, don't get one here unless you want to be faced with unending rent increases.

Then at my new address they put everything where I asked, and reassembled everything. They were taking some small breaks every 2h (which is totally legal and legitimate: I think some other reviewers misunderstood this) - The move took basically the time that had been estimated. Today at approximately 3:10 p.m. on 21st St. NE in Lake Stevens, WA, a Bekins Northwest moving truck pulled into our alley while helping a new neighbor move in. At 5:26 p.m., my fiancé came home and sent me a picture showing their truck blocking both our driveway and the neighbor's driveway across the alley. He spoke with one of the workers and explained that I would be home shortly. The worker replied, "No problem. When she gets here, we'll move the truck." When I arrived home at 6:39 p.m., the truck was still blocking my driveway. I got out of my car and politely asked if they could move it so I could pull into my driveway. One of the workers responded, "Can't you wait 20 minutes?" I explained that there was nowhere else to park. He pointed to the middle of the road, I told him, "No, I'm already stopped in the middle of the road." Parking there would have continued blocking through traffic (something their truck had already been doing for hours) and could have prevented other neighbors from getting home. I again asked them to move their truck so I could access my own driveway. So let me get this straight you wanted me to wait another 20 minutes after my driveway had already been blocked for hours and while your truck continued blocking the alley and preventing residents from easily accessing their homes? My issue is not that they were working. I understand people have to move. My issue is how the situation was handled. Blocking someone's driveway for nearly four hours without even the courtesy of knocking on the door to let us know or simply saying, "If you need in or out, just let us know and we'll move the truck," is unacceptable. Then, after being asked politely to move it, I was told to wait another 20 minutes instead of them taking a minute to relocate the truck. The truck finally left around 7:00 p.m., meaning our driveway was blocked for approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes. Better communication, respect for the surrounding neighbors, and basic courtesy would have gone a long way in preventing this frustrating experience.

The staff has always been friendly and always helpful. The the unit was secure, low priced and the facility clean. All the years we stored there, and we had two units, there were never any issues. They even offered us cold bottled water when we were sorting our stuff on a hot summer day. We loved that the staff were responsive and security minded. It makes a big difference compared to a few places we tried before. We will tell our friends and when we need storage again, we will return. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
