Very cute ice cream shop with a lot going on! We came after dinner for a sweet treat, I can't help it! I had their rocky road and cookie dough on a cone, kept it simple. Loved both to be honest. I never see a chocolate based rocky road and it was great. My boyfriend had a coffee ice cream shake he said was good except they didn't give him a lid at first and it spilt all over the place ultimately making more of a mess for the poor girl working, ALONE, on a Saturday night. We lucked out because I could definitely see this place being packed, especially on a weekend. The staff was very nice. We picked out some ice-cream for my Little and let her eat some of it there before heading back to the homestead so she could finish the rest. Dole Whip. That's the review, that's it. Okay, that's not it. There's honestly a lot more to Tweets Ice Cream Café than just one item. Though I'll have to admit, for me, it's mostly just been those first two words. If you're not familiar with Dole Whip, it's a smooth, creamy, sorbet-ish style dessert that comes in several flavors (mostly pineapple), was created by the Dole company, and is predominantly found in the land of the magical mouse (Disney). Luckily, last summer my girlfriend, her family, and myself stumbled upon Tweets when venturing out to the Wading River area. There we learned that Dole Whip does occasionally escape from Lake Buena Vista and can be found on this lengthy island. But really, this isn't a review about Dole Whip. It's about Tweets which is nestled amongst The Shoppes at East Wind...well, the few "shoppes" that are still left. On our most recent visit, many storefronts unfortunately folded due to the past few months and so all the more reason to give them some support. It was a call by phone and pick up at a window kind of deal as this was probably the safest way to ensure no crowds or lines formed inside the café. On previous trips (before Covid-land), we were able to consume our Dole Whip within the interior of Tweets. It's not overly spacious and doesn't resemble anything other than a regular ice cream parlor-type setup, but it does the job of being clean and welcoming enough. The myriad of young girls who tend to frequent as the staff behind the counter offer a range of friendliness, or sometimes lack thereof. We have gone to Tweets with as many as seven of us at one time so I will cut them a small sliver of slack for handling our group quickly and efficiently. On some of those trips, other members of our group have veered away from Dole Whip to try some of Tweets' other ice cream type offerings. They do offer quite the variety of flavors as well as shakes, ices, sundaes, and plenty of other dessert delights. Oh, plus the left portion of their counter space doubles as a Starbucks so you can get a little Frappuccino action, if that's your jam. Overall, Tweets Ice Cream Café encompasses a wide range of sweets making it hard-pressed to not find something you'd like. For me, it'll continuously be Dole Whip because I can't turn down something so satisfying, especially on a hot summer day. As long as Tweets is around and selling it, that'll be reason enough to return, but there's plenty more to try as well, if Dole Whip isn't your thing...but let's face it, it should be. read more

I ordered a cone and a cup of soft serve. The cup was barely filled to the top, and it was swirled so that the center was empty. the cone was perhaps an in above the top rim. I asked the counter helper why, and she stated "we have new owners, and we have to do it this way". I regret that I paid and accepted the ice cream. Additionally, bothe the chocolate and vanilla had a strange after taste. I wonder if the "new owner" changed the ingredients. My husband and I used to go there several times a week. Yesterday I went into the store at around 7pm to buy an ice cream cake that was in the freezer case. I picked up the undisclosed type of cake and was taking a chance it was the generic vanilla and chocolate, which it was and very little crunches in middle. I took the cake in the box to the one and only employee working and asked him to write happy birthday Mom on the cake. I was told it's a special order and the person that writes on the cakes is not in today. I stated then why have the cakes in the freezer buy if this is a real ice cream shop. I was told they keep ice cream cakes in the freezer so "people then know we sell ice cream cakes" I really think that is the most rediculous thing I have heard. Why dont you then just put a sign saying we sell overpriced $43 ice cream cakes. I bought the cake cause I didn't want to loose more time and go to King Kullen. I was already in the plaza and wanted a refreshing dessert to accompany the heat of summer. I ordered the dole whip and chocolate chip cookie dough. The dole whip was very smooth and creamy, not too strong in the pineapple flavor but you can definitely taste the tart-ness. The service was decent. I ordered online and they had it ready in a few minutes. However, when I went back to get another spoon, the employees wouldn't come to the window, despite seeing that I was waiting for their attention. It was freezing cold (20 degree day in January), and they have Starbucks coffee. That's what drew us in. Had a Caramel Spiced Apple something hot & yummy. It was amazing! Prices of coffee and specialty drinks comparable to Starbucks but slightly cheaper. Strong variety of ice cream, ice cream cakes and such. Has a few tables so we stayed to warm up and enjoy our purchase. We live in the next town over and have an ice cream/coffee place closer to home where we go regularly. We happened to be in the East Wind Plaza for something else, so it was somewhere to walk to while waiting for our kids to finish their painting projects. It's cute. Staff are nice. Zero Stars. I was there on July 16, 2024 and the service was very unsanitary! The young man behind the counter handle the cones and received cash without utilizing gloves or washing his hands. I asked him why and his response was "my sign on the wall does not require me to use gloves!" I was FLOORED! I had already paid. Needless to say I promptly gave the cone back and walked out! I ordered two of the brownie crust ice cream pies from here after seeing them featured online. I called ahead, and the staff was super friendly and polite from the get go. On the day of pickup i went to the side window and called telling them I was there, the employees seemed to be wearing all masks and gloves which was fantastic to see that they were taking the safety of their customers seriously. I ordered the cookie dough and Reese's flavored pies. The cookie dough pie has a brownie crust, layer of fudge and vanilla ice cream and was topped with cookie dough pieces and more fudge. The cake was delicious and definitely a step-up from your average ice cream cakes. The Reese's pie though..that was a game changer. I don't think I can ever eat a regular ice cream cake again after this! This pie again had a brownie crust and vanilla ice cream and was topped with peanut butter and chocolate drizzle and Reese's..however what absolutely MADE the pie was the layer of peanut butter between the brownie crust and ice cream. We were driving by this cute plaza, and decided to stop by. The Tweets Ice Cream Cafe caught our eye, and we decided to treat ourselves to a cone. As we walked in, we realized that they also sold Starbucks products, and knew we had to get some drinks! We ordered a delicious strawberry açaí refresher, two coffees, and the Strawberry Dreamscape ice cream. The ice cream was not your normal strawberry flavor, it was filled with yummy strawberry pieces and more. The Starbucks drinks were all made perfectly. Pros- Amicable staff behind the counter. They were attentive, efficient, and not stuck behind their phones. -the place was clean and well maintained. The topping options were decent and the flavors of hard ice cream options was pretty good as well. -they gave us a lot of toppings on our scoops which was nice. -they had Dole Whip available. Cons- the hard ice cream wasn't impressive. I've gone to much better local shops with a better tasting ice cream/ I'd choose store bought over this place personally - I expect high prices when I go to small ice cream shops but usually I get a little more bang for my buck than I did there. -the shakes were so thick my husband couldn't drink it through his straw... although maybe some people prefer that. Okay little ice cream parlor which doubles as a Starbucks in The Shops at Eastwinds in Wading River. They have a good selection of flavors as well as soft serve ice cream. The ice cream itself is good but what they give you for the price is kind of a ripoff. I was given a tiny amount of soft serve on a cone from a grumpy staff that clearly had enough for the day. Very good ice cream that I can highly recommend as a 73 year old ice cream lover. After years of being a Snowflake only ice cream maven, I have to say almost reluctantly that Tweets is just about as good. For me, I happen to love pistachio. Snowflake rarely has regular pistachio flavor, rather serving a fine (but not the same as straight pistachio) pistachio/cherry. If you are in Wading River and not interested in a trip to Snowflake in Riverhead (of course Tweets has nothing like the Snowflake exceptional Peconic River Swamp Thing (my all time favorite) by all means go to Tweets. All around not as good as Snowflake but not a bad substitute, especially if looking for a traditional pistachio. read more

I was helped by an extremely friendly employee (I wish I got her name) and purchased an oreo ice cream pie. We used the ice cream pie for a birthday party which was a complete hit! I come here often because they have Starbucks products and I just want to say that they make the BEST London fog. Better than any other actual Starbucks. The staff are all very sweet and efficient. They are also very generous with their samples! I asked for a dole whip sample and the employee working gave me quite an impressive amount. In their cooler by the front they have ice cream pies that look incredible. They have an excellent variety of products here, there truly is something for everybody! Great ice cream place!! My husband and I have stopped in over the summer a couple times and enjoyed various flavors they have. All very good! The staff is also very friendly and prices are reasonable. We went there tonight and the girl behind the counter let me try their soft serve and it is incredible and put my ice cream in a bigger container to fit my toppings. If I ever had to run a business with people I would hire her to speak with customers. Tonight is the first time I've had soft serve and the toppings. The cookie crunches, hot fudge and whipped cream are all home made and the best I've had. Glad to have this good ice cream place close to home! read more
