Dole Whip! They have it! Pineapple and lemon or get them swirled together. Insanely delicious.
    Josh G.

Dole Whip. That's the review, that's it. Okay, that's not it. There's honestly a lot more to Tweets Ice Cream Café than just one item. Though I'll have to admit, for me, it's mostly just been those first two words. If you're not familiar with Dole Whip, it's a smooth, creamy, sorbet-ish style dessert that comes in several flavors (mostly pineapple), was created by the Dole company, and is predominantly found in the land of the magical mouse (Disney). Luckily, last summer my girlfriend, her family, and myself stumbled upon Tweets when venturing out to the Wading River area. There we learned that Dole Whip does occasionally escape from Lake Buena Vista and can be found on this lengthy island. But really, this isn't a review about Dole Whip. It's about Tweets which is nestled amongst The Shoppes at East Wind...well, the few "shoppes" that are still left. On our most recent visit, many storefronts unfortunately folded due to the past few months and so all the more reason to give them some support. It was a call by phone and pick up at a window kind of deal as this was probably the safest way to ensure no crowds or lines formed inside the café. On previous trips (before Covid-land), we were able to consume our Dole Whip within the interior of Tweets. It's not overly spacious and doesn't resemble anything other than a regular ice cream parlor-type setup, but it does the job of being clean and welcoming enough. The myriad of young girls who tend to frequent as the staff behind the counter offer a range of friendliness, or sometimes lack thereof. We have gone to Tweets with as many as seven of us at one time so I will cut them a small sliver of slack for handling our group quickly and efficiently. On some of those trips, other members of our group have veered away from Dole Whip to try some of Tweets' other ice cream type offerings. They do offer quite the variety of flavors as well as shakes, ices, sundaes, and plenty of other dessert delights. Oh, plus the left portion of their counter space doubles as a Starbucks so you can get a little Frappuccino action, if that's your jam. Overall, Tweets Ice Cream Café encompasses a wide range of sweets making it hard-pressed to not find something you'd like. For me, it'll continuously be Dole Whip because I can't turn down something so satisfying, especially on a hot summer day. As long as Tweets is around and selling it, that'll be reason enough to return, but there's plenty more to try as well, if Dole Whip isn't your thing...but let's face it, it should be.

This was a small cone! Are they kidding?

I had to go in after my daughter came outside. I went back in to complain. The kids were too busy talking to even help us. It's the staff, not the place. Definitely need an adult working there too.

I was already in the plaza and wanted a refreshing dessert to accompany the heat of summer. I ordered the dole whip and chocolate chip cookie dough. The dole whip was very smooth and creamy, not too strong in the pineapple flavor but you can definitely taste the tart-ness. The service was decent. I ordered online and they had it ready in a few minutes. However, when I went back to get another spoon, the employees wouldn't come to the window, despite seeing that I was waiting for their attention. It took about 5-10 minutes before they finally acknowledged me, for me to get a spoon.

Cute place. They serve Starbucks coffee. I didn't go for the ice cream , will try another day. Had a breakfast sandwich there , not much to say about it. It was very dry , including the croissant. The cashier was nice.

It was freezing cold (20 degree day in January), and they have Starbucks coffee. That's what drew us in. Had a Caramel Spiced Apple something hot & yummy. It was amazing! Prices of coffee and specialty drinks comparable to Starbucks but slightly cheaper. Strong variety of ice cream, ice cream cakes and such. Has a few tables so we stayed to warm up and enjoy our purchase. We live in the next town over and have an ice cream/coffee place closer to home where we go regularly. We happened to be in the East Wind Plaza for something else, so it was somewhere to walk to while waiting for our kids to finish their painting projects. It's cute. Staff are nice. But honestly unless I have to be in the area, I would stick to the place closer to home.

Best soft serve and açaí bowls around! Also their coffe is somehow better than Starbucks.

Cookie dough pie - brownie crust pie topped with layers of fudge and vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with fudge and cookie dough

I ordered two of the brownie crust ice cream pies from here after seeing them featured online. I called ahead, and the staff was super friendly and polite from the get go. On the day of pickup i went to the side window and called telling them I was there, the employees seemed to be wearing all masks and gloves which was fantastic to see that they were taking the safety of their customers seriously. I ordered the cookie dough and Reese's flavored pies. The cookie dough pie has a brownie crust, layer of fudge and vanilla ice cream and was topped with cookie dough pieces and more fudge. The cake was delicious and definitely a step-up from your average ice cream cakes. The Reese's pie though..that was a game changer. I don't think I can ever eat a regular ice cream cake again after this! This pie again had a brownie crust and vanilla ice cream and was topped with peanut butter and chocolate drizzle and Reese's..however what absolutely MADE the pie was the layer of peanut butter between the brownie crust and ice cream. I'm salivating just thinking about it again, this is a must try for any peanut butter fanatics out there! Thanks Tweets for the excellent service and even more delicious desserts!

We were driving by this cute plaza, and decided to stop by. The Tweets Ice Cream Cafe caught our eye, and we decided to treat ourselves to a cone. As we walked in, we realized that they also sold Starbucks products, and knew we had to get some drinks! We ordered a delicious strawberry açaí refresher, two coffees, and the Strawberry Dreamscape ice cream. The ice cream was not your normal strawberry flavor, it was filled with yummy strawberry pieces and more. The Starbucks drinks were all made perfectly. We'll be back soon for some more Tweets ice cream and treats!

I am in a committed, long-term emotional relationship with the brownies from this vegan bakery…read more These are not "good for vegan" brownies. These are not "surprisingly good" brownies. These are the best brownies I have ever eaten, period, and I say that as someone who has eaten many brownies in many states of mind. The center is intensely fudgy with tiny chocolate chips like it's showing off, and then layered with two thin sheets of frosting that feel frankly excessive in the best possible way. I have rearranged my month around buying these. I go once a month not to browse, not to "see what's new," but to stock up like a person who has learned something important about survival. Because the brownies have such a gravitational pull, it took me a while to branch out--but every time I do, I'm annoyed at myself for waiting. The double chocolate biscotti is rich, deeply chocolatey, and somehow not dry (which feels like sorcery). The rainbow cookies are absolute perfection. Balanced, almondy, exactly what you want them to be. And the carrot cake? Moist, perfectly spiced, and genuinely excellent in a quiet, confident way that doesn't need to scream for attention because it knows it's right. The staff is warm and friendly. This place doesn't just sell baked goods. It creates fixations. Go here. Eat the brownies. Stock up. Adjust your life accordingly.

Well that's all fine and dandy in the land of basic cheese, but if you're looking to step things up a bit, then come on over to the Cheese And Spice Market! This tiny shop has been a spot I've visited several times now, the last trip coming about a month ago when my girlfriend, her family, and yours truly were interested in checking out the Shoppes at East Wind. Alas, due to these current times, many storefronts have shuttered their doors leaving only a few specialty locations still open. One of them? This cheese market (so get going!). Well, it's not all about cheese here as they also sell an assortment of local goods (pickles, spreads, sauces, oils) as well as some teas and a few other eclectically edible/drinkable options. But the biggest reason to enter is for the cheese. Now it might not be the grandest selection, but even so, CASM collects a pretty wondrous assortment of cheese styles, milk bases, and variations from all over the world. Costs are on par with just about any other place selling speciality cheeses (I matched up a few prices at Uncle Giuseppes for legitimacy), but keep that in mind because this...ain't no basic Swiss (sorry for the rhyme). But honestly, beyond the quaint interior, awesome food items, and stellar cheese selection, the real reason I'm gonna slap some five star love on this spot is due to the staff. Each time we've set foot in the Market they've been extremely welcoming, accommodating, knowledgeable and always quick to offer us a taste of any cheese we had interest in. No cheese snobs around these parts, and better yet, they're brutally honest. Case(s) in point: We were told that a local cheese, which had cost more than a similar style, wasn't worth the difference in price because we'd just be paying for the fact that it's from Long Island; it's not any better than the other, cheaper cheese. Also, I sampled a super stinky/funky cheese called Red Witch that one employee stated how much she loved it while the other said he couldn't stand the stuff, so it's nice to know you're not being taken for a ride when you come in here. Overall, the Cheese And Spice Market is a legit shop that checks off all the cheesy boxes. You'll find a great variety at similar prices to other places along with spectacular customer service which makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable (and tasty). So if you're interested in taking a walk on the wilder side of cheese, check out this spot and give em some business to keep them running. Cheese please!
