My girls love the ice cream and the nice variety of candy by the pound. Sweets N Scoops is very generous to the Shoreham Wading River community. I am not one to blast any of our local businesses on social media, however I cannot let this go. My daughters, who are 8 and 6, worked on the PARP scavenger hunt this afternoon and were very excited to go to SWEET N SCOOPS for their ice cream after they completed the scavenger hunt. Apparently there are limitations to when you can get your ice cream and my daughters were not given ice cream because they came at 7:15 and the window for their scoop of ice cream ended at 6:00. Needless to say, two young girls left very disappointed and my kindergartner was crying. The woman who my husband spoke to could not care less. She was cold, rude and did not care. I will NEVER support that business again and it is such a shame that people could be so heartless. My girls did get their ice cream, but from Carvel because I will never support a business that treats community members and young children the way that women did. read more

They clearly did not read my other review about the LACK OF GLOVES, or they don't care. The practice of handling food WITHOUT GLOVES and then money clearly doesn't seem to concern them. Aside from handling ice cream cones WITHOUT GLOVES and then running the cash register, they also assemble (very beautiful) chocolate arrangements, but were handling individual chocolates WITHOUT GLOVES. Imagine then them handling money, or even checking their cell phones. Millions of germs on your beautiful quality chocolate arrangement, all preventable. I certainly will not be buying any of their chocolate arrangements or any of the chocolates behind the counter. Who knows what has been unsanitarily touched. Also if you get ice cream, just get it in a cup. I am sad to write this update. It's such a unique, sweet little store and I hate to see it continue to run so poorly as far as hygiene. They clearly don't take issue with their uncleanly practices though, as they do it right in front of their customers. They could be making their customers ill. I was searching for hot chocolate bombs and I'm so happy I stopped into this cute little shop. I'm pretty sure the owner was the woman who had helped me.. she was so awesome. I told her I needed 6 hot chocolate bombs and she did all that she could do to accommodate my order during the busiest/most demanding time of the year (Christmas/holiday season) ! I was very pleased with their hospitality and service. Will return. They also had beautiful chocolate Santa sleighs, Santa's, you name it.. it was made out of chocolate! The ice cream and milkshakes here are very good and it is worth a stop in when you want a treat BUT the teens who work here knock it down a star. Last night I had a wonderful experience with the girls that were working but it is not always the case. They consistently close early without warning, and if you come in within an hour of closing they shut down half of the machines. The service is very hit or miss so I only go when its super early (like 6pm) so I know I can get soft-serve! read more

Tried stopping in here one night after dinner, around 8:45pm. Sign on the door said that they close at 9:30pm. As I walked in the two girls behind the counter said "uhm were closing" so i said the sign and facebook, which I checked before stopping by, says "9:30" and they said, "yeah, we're closing so we can't help you" and literally locked the door behind meas I was walking out. Was so happy to see an ice cream/treat store return to the shopping center. They serve Hersey's ice cream which is some of the best. Lots of choices in flavors. Also if you just want candy they pretty much have it all, from sugar to chocolates. Some of the non-bulk candy is a tad pricey but nothing outrageous. read more

I come in with my son about 2-3 times a week and the ladies that work there never fail to put a smile on his face. Whether it's the sweet scoops they provide to him or they themselves. To me, knowing I can come to this shop and have my kid smile is so very heartwarming for any parent. The girl Nicolette working there is truly fantastic her eyes just light up when we walk through the door and gives little Christopher a big hug. She knows exactly what he likes (moose tracks with love) and it never fails. Her sister Makayla is wonderful as well. Always a smile on her face and a pleasure to be around. She actually enjoys scooping the ice cream for me and my son which you don't come around very often and to mention again... always a smile. I'm more of a chocolate peanut butter guy. Once in a while ill throw in some chocolate sprinkles but I just feel like when I come to this place specifically it is made with love in every scoop. I go in and get a cup of ice cream, and i bought a cup of the chocolate cookie crunch topping, so the next day i made a bowl of ice cream and put on some of the crunch, so i take a spoon full and I almost broke as tooth ! Not joking I thought it was really small rocks in my mouth,so i couldn't eat it of course.so the next day i bring the cup back to the store , and i was nice laughing a little about the story, so the woman (pretty sure the owner,i have been there before), she's behind the counter doing something as i'm asking her about this crunch, never came to the front of the counter, so i said Whats the story This is not crunch, So Get this she said Oh yeah the company sent me the wrong one...I said ok, i said well i can't eat this, she says well like i said i got the wrong one..oh then she tells me oh yeah its probably the coated crunch... so i'm like i can't believe for $1,75 she won't just say "don't worry about it I'll give you the right item" , no I just left and that was it...
