Replaced damaged wheel
Frank D.

We have been using a rolling suitcase for about 6 years and we travel a lot so it has been on at least 10 trips since Sept. 2022. On our last trip, one of the wheels must have picked up a stone and jammed because it wore out dragging on the ground. I emailed them a picture and they told me it would be $28.50. When I took the bag in, I mentioned that the zipper pulls had been lost on one of the compartments and they said they could fix them. The actual charge was $48.50 plus tax. That seemed a bit high but they are really the only game in town for expert luggage repairs. The bag was repaired in about a week. As it turned out, all they had to do was drill out the rivet holding the wheel, put on a new wheel and replace the rivet and crimp on a few new pulls. I recently moved into a retirement community and no longer have the tools to do these repairs. Otherwise, they would have been simple DIY fixes, assuming I had the parts. Bottom line is that DIY will be a lot cheaper but these guys know what they are doing and you won't have to round up the parts. The luggage would have cost at least $150 to replace.

PROS - Flat Rate per Day…read more- Convenient - Open from 5:30am-12:30am - Refrigerated Items Accepted - No Size Limit - Pay on Pick Up CONS - Ease of Locating Located in the baggage claim area of SEA-TAC International, alongside the window/exit side between baggage claims 9 and 10 is the convenient Smarte Carte Storage. Be aware that it can easily be missed, but it does have a yellow painted wall similar to that used for their pay-to-rent smarte cartes throughout the arrival and departure areas. My experience was a pleasant one. Given that I hadn't been to Seattle, and it was on my bucket list, it came in handy to have somewhere to drop off my carry-on duffel bag while I explored Seattle on my 8 hour layover. It took some research as this baggage storage area was ran by Ken's Baggage prior to 2016. The price was very convenient, for two overhead sized duffel bags it came out to approximately $18 for whole day storage (this was for 2018/01/04), and Smarte Carte Storage is open almost 24 hours, so you can still access your belongings regardless of when you were to pick them up. However, I do not know if you can add to/access your belongings inbetween drop off and pick up... that would be a good thing to know. The employees were pleasant and patient. Unfortunately, I do not recall the name of the lady who helped store our luggage as we were in a hurry, but Bernard helped us retrieve our luggage.. we also got to see what the storage area looked like in the back, and it is very well organized. They even had a refrigerated area, I'm guessing for any ice boxes carrying any fish/seafood that was caught to be flown out, which was unexpected but I'm sure helpful in many cases. Would I return? Most definitely. I'll be sure to post current pricing as of my visit (2018.01.04) for those that are also searching for a place to store luggage/belongings during a long layover at SEA-TAC. --/ One for ME, YELP for YOU. @sandyexplores

Online shopping just doesn't cut it a lot of the time. However, I haven't been to a Macy's anywhere in the PNW, except maybe Bellevue, that didn't loom like it was going out of business. And just try finding a sales person to answer a question? Good luck with that. I had a few questions. One item on the shelf didn't match the display model. And there was a clearance item that was tied up with a security device so I couldn't examine it. That's two things I didn't buy. That's a missed sales opportunity. And, why wouldn't you post signs on the "up" escalator to warn people that you will be trapped on the 3rd floor unless you want to take the stairs. Both the elevator and down escalator were out of order. Once you've made it to the 3rd floor, it's too late. If you are of a certain age or have mobility issues, this is a big problem going down 3 flights of stairs to the 2nd level where the escalator was actually working, going down. I did hear one sales person tell customers, "it's just one flight down". No, it's THREE flights down to the 2nd floor. A flight is an uninterrupted segment of stairs. I counted 3. It's one "story" or level down. As I made my escape I actually stopped a young person with what looked like a grandparent with a cane and warned them not to go to the 3rd floor unless they were prepared to take the stairs down. I'm sure Macy's lost more customers that it kept because of this fiasco.

Sizing of their clothing has always been super wonky, but with the move to making nearly every product now in China, the sizing is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Price was always high, due to (historically) domestically sourced and manufactured goods, now only one or two remaining items are manufactured in the states (of imported materials)..and yet the prices continue to go up, while the quality goes way down. Their customer service is HORRIFIC. If you have a problem you will be completely screwed!!! Weeks to respond to an e-mail. They have turned off the CC phone lines (you get a recording telling you so, and tough sh*t), the have disabled chat on the site. Local stores are NOT ALLOWED to help if you ordered on-line (they will lose their jobs if they try to help you). RUN, don't walk away. There is NOTHING good left of this once great company!! I am ashamed that I recently purchased an item from here, and also pissed that the sizing is so messed up that i cannot wear it (nor return it because CC simply ignores their customers). Next step is a charge-back on my credit card (sucks, but it is the only recourse with horribly run companies like this).
