When I went back, I was not happy with the length, but she hurried me out and said it was perfect. She charged me a total of $730 for alterations and hemming. After trying it on a few times at home I was still not happy with it, I decided to get a second opinion. I brought it to another tailor in Brick, and they told me Mona ruined the dress. It was not until I went to this second tailor did I realize what a terrible job Mona did for a ton of money, $730. This was a $1500 dress. Mona cut the lace when she was not supposed to. The top of the dress was a botched job. Also, Mona did not take it in correctly around the hip area. Basically, the new tailor must totally re-do the dress again from start. I was so upset but the new tailor is going to do their best to fix it for me for a total of $250. When going back to Mona she was very unprofessional and nasty and would not listen to a word I said. She told me the new tailor was going to ruin the dress on me. Mona just yelled and screamed at me and kicked me out. I would never want anyone else to experience this. I was naive and did not know any better and I got screwed. Please be careful and do not go to Mona's Boutiques and Tailoring. Please do your research.

When my daughter tried the dress on and came out of the dressing room Mona looked at the dress on her and said that it was too much material to take in and told her to order a size smaller. She did not care that it was the smallest size possible. I've come by at different times, and even sent a friend to check while I was away at work. No information on the door except a Help Wanted ad and CLOSED. I've left messages with no response. I'm now leaving for a business trip and desperate to access my clothes. I finally had to call the police to arrange getting my belongings. The police told me the owner assured them he was open every day. I chatted with the neighboring businesses on my visits over the past few days, and they said Blue Ribbon does this all the time and people constantly complain to them. They specifically said "they're basically open whenever it's convenient for them." Stay. Far.Away.

When we got there, a woman (maybe the owner?) greeted us in the front and explained the process. There is a larger selection of dresses than I expected and they are all protected in plastic. There is a card attached to each dress with helpful information such as available colors and the price. You can pick a few dresses and give it to one of the staff who then help you with changing into the dress. I liked their customer service. The young staffers help pick out dresses based on what you're looking for or what you've picked out and they were great with helping to change in and out of dresses multiple times. They do have a no-camera policy unless you've purchased the dress. This makes it hard to compare dresses because after a while I forget what each dress looks like and which looks better. I wish they would organize the dresses by color so that we don't have to go looking for the color we want. Even though the available colors may not be in the store, it's helpful to see the color in the style in person. In the end, we didn't find a dress here but it was a good experience with great service.

Rather than listening respectfully, the CEO, Maurice Payani, responded dismissively when I mentioned that the school follows guidance from an imam. I was told that my concerns didn't matter and that I didn't understand what was being said to me. The interaction felt extremely disrespectful and confrontational. Instead of trying to understand the cultural and religious context I explained, the conversation became tense and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect--especially when discussing modesty standards for a religious school event. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this store to families who expect respectful customer service and sensitivity to religious or cultural concerns.
