Although most all Turtle Jack's offer a premium experience, this is not the location to expect this. Have been a couple of times to this location and while the food is the same as others, the service at this location is very poor. Have been twice: 1. Sat at the bar and must have waited 10 minutes just for an initial greeting. Service for drink refills, keep in mind sitting at the bar right in front of bartenders!, was sloppy at best. 2. Was seated at a table by a hostess and after almost 20 minutes, then a server showed up for the first time. Needless to say, left and went to The Keg and got the standard amazing service one would expect for a premium dining experience. read more

This place promises to serve some fantastic tex-mex stuff like burgers, tacos, ribs, sandwiches and so many other delicacies that will make you crave for more. So did the food tickle my taste buds? Let's find out what all did I try in this food tasting: : It's the sesame seed bun , stuffed w/ fried boneless chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, ranch, choice of sauce, sesame bun. : Tossed it up with 2 flour tortillas stuffed w/ soft blackened pan- seared basa fillets, pineapple mango salsa, guacamole, sweet & spicy aioli. Well, do you need anything else? : These chicken rolls were an absolute treat as starters. They were so crispy that they actually flake apart when you bite into them. In for lunch with a few friends. We are from NY, and have our share of chain restaurants - most of which are to be avoided. So Turtle Jacks was not at all what I expected, being located in a mall - all the surprises were good ones! While this restaurant is part of a franchised chain, at least this location is offering a getaway experience with good food. terrific service and an inviting atmosphere. Turtle Jacks boasts a classy modern and upscale entry, where we were greeted immediately by a hostess, and led to a large booth with comfortable leather seating. There are two dining areas and a tavern area next to the bar. All offer the same comfy leather seating. The bar area was visually appealing and offers large-screen TV viewing for sports enthusiasts. The menu is large and offers choices for vegans, gluten free diners and those looking to pig out. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was really good. I ordered the Blackened chicken on toasted Naan, and other at the table had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Turkey Avocado Club and Bison Meatloaf. All were wonderful. Great spot. Go. read more

Came to the new renno'd Turtle Jack's interior was nice and clean. Just wanted to grab a beer and some food after work. Sat at the bar. Waited a while for anyone to take my drink order. Staff gave the bare minimal attention and was chatting with co-workers mainly. Had the burger which was fine. Only spoken to once for my order and then dropped my bill. They gave us Apothic which required a bottle opener, and the awesome staff sent an opener with the wine! You guys are awesome! My boyfriend and I have made Turtle Jacks our date night restaurant of choice as the service is always stellar and the food is delicious.

**given 3.5 stars** This location is quite nice and inviting and the staff are welcoming. The service is slow and we needed to ask for a refill on our waters after 10 min of waiting for our server to come by. Overall, average service. The food is alright. "The Cuban" hamburger I ordered was found on a separate featured menu. The burger overall was nice and meaty, juicy as well as flavourful (love cumin seasoning!). My only concern of this burger was that the quality of meat was definitely not the greatest. I found a rather large piece of gristle in my burger and was surprised as I would have expected something like this from a lower quality restaurant. I should preface this review by saying I am trained as a French and Italian chef. I grew up in restaurants well before they were chain stores. I am in Burlington for a two year work contract. That is the context. Regarding this restaurant: over the course of a year, I spent close to $8,000 at this location. During the summer of 2018, it was a great place. The staff was super friendly, extremely professional. Very well trained insofar that they were decent young people and were never too informal or overly familiar. A true delight to encounter once or twice a week. Evidently, the management changed in the Fall of 2018. The food was often cold, or poorly prepared. To be extremely specific, several items over several weeks, the food was freezer burnt. Several times the food was cold in the middle. On two occasions I was violently ill from eating very soft chicken strips. Sending items back to the kitchen became a common occurrence. And, there is a new manager that seems to think that scowling, staring and being brusk, rude and curt represents the new efficiency. The question anyone would ask: why return if you hate the place? I loved the place in the summer before the kitchen went downhill. And, I think the staff are some of the best people in Burlington (minus the new manager who needs to remove himself from public life.) It is 100% true that people make a place. There are 3-4 people that work at this location that really make it a special place. One was recently let go, much to the infinite shame of the new manager and owners. The remaining staff are worth the trip. Worth the return visits. How they work so hard and put up with so much is a wonder. I never had that much stamina and professionalism when I was in my 20s. Well done. All that being said, I would seriously warn anyone: be very assertive if the food is bad. Something is going on with the kitchen management. They are not trying anymore. And, fire that manager. It is called hospitality, not hostility. That guy would give the DMV a bad name. read more

This is nothing like the old weird turtle jacks I used to go to as a kid! It has a pretty decent gluten free menu and the items actually have flavour. It is better than earls next door and the quality of the food is great. Not too busy to get a table without reservations most of the time. Pricey but worthwhile. read more

The food was good; on that mark, this restaurant scores high for chains like it. They are also very accommodating of children, unlike the other dine-in option at this mall (Earl's HATES children, and do not provide any accommodations for anyone under the age of fourteen). What made this visit painful was the pace of service -- surprisingly slow, considering our table was one of very few occupied. At one point another server came to our table to ask if we'd like the small amount of food left from our appetizer boxed up. Yes, we waited so long between appetizer and main, other servers thought we were done. Thank goodness our child is patient (but we all have our limits). I certainly wouldn't recommend it if you're in a rush to beat traffic or have more shopping to accomplish. Otherwise, with time to kill, you might enjoy your experience. read more

We have eaten here numerous times. This is a really good place for lunch or dinner with a wide variety of choices. I have been impressed with the service especially if there has been a problem with an order (which has only happened a couple of times). The manager has come to the table and expressed genuine concern, offered a salad or a small item as the re-order is being completed. Then the bill arrives and they have removed the problematic item from the bill. I consider that SUPER service. I recommend friends to Turtle Jacks at Mapleview all the time. The only reason for the 4 stars is bse we have found that sometimes the wait staff, on occasion, can be a bit flat and not as friendly as some may like. read more

I went to turtle jacks for my birthday lunch it was really nice. The waitresses were friendly and we had some wine samplers where they give you 2oz of three different types of red or white which I thought was great. The menu was more upscale than what I had expected for turtle jacks. The food was delicious, I highly recommend turtle jacks for any sort of dining. read more

One of the best experiences I've had in a franchise/chain restaurant! Our server was incredibly attentive, on tops of drinks, napkins, utensils, etc. We went during the week and it wasn't too busy but enough people to keep them in business. Food was great, we did the cheese dip which was superb but lacking on portion size; also ordered burgers and a steak. Burgers were fantastic, steak was a bit peppery but not bad. Didn't expect a dinner and a show - cockroach! Yuck!! So disgusting. First of all, I am going to by pass on reviewing the food and get to the major issues that I found with this restaurant. My friend and I decided to dine at this restaurant this afternoon, and I was sitting across from her, a cockroach scurried across the back of the booth seat. It scurried quickly quickly to the floor. How gross!!!! I alerted my friend to the coachroach to it and she was able to squish it with her boot. I first alerted the waitress who didn't look so suprised when I told her. That was a red flag for me. She then brought the manager over to our table. We told the manager who we saw a cockroach. She then told us how they had the place sprayed recently and couldn't believe they were still having issues. She said that she believed the cockroaches were coming from the ceiling due to the fact that there was a food court above the restauant. She said it was a 'Mall Issue' and that she would do something about it in the morning. Wow poor patrons who had to continue to eat there while we knew the truth! We explained to to her how we were disgusted and how we didn't expect to come to the restaurant to have to see a cockroach. I asked her about her kitchen and then she said, they didn't have cockroaches or had not seen any in the kitchen. Well we said to her, well where's one cockroach then there's more. I can't believe that she would have us think that there were no cockroaches in the kitchen? I guess the cockroach wanted to join us for lunch. We should have brought it a drink too. Which now brings me back to the manager. Not only did she not seem to feel embarassed and spoke candidately about their cockroach problem - she never even discounted our bill. Nothing was done. Unbelievable. Poor managerial skills. We made sure to shake off our clothes as we didn't want to bring any critters home with us. We will not be returning to the restaurant and are also very skeptical about returning to any of the restaurants in that mall since the manager told us that the cockroaches were a 'mall issue.' We felt sorry for the waitress. We still tipped her and paid our bill in full. It wasn't her fault her manager lacked managerial skills. *update. I contacted the head office in writing and called the head office a day after the incident and it's now February and they never contacted. Says a lot about their customer service. read more

Not being a fan of food court dining, it's great to be able to step into Turtle Jack's and grab a quick lunch or dinner when out in Burlington. The balance of space between the bar and the dining room allows for patrons to enjoy a dining experience that is suited to their wants/needs. I've eaten there alone while out shopping, with friends for a girls' night out, and even ordered dinner to go from the wait staff at the bar. I have always had terrific interactions with the staff and they readily address any dietary concerns you have (mine being both a gluten sensitivity and more importantly, a nut allergy). The staff are also more than happy to provide input if you are having difficulty choosing from TJ's menu. It's a terrific spot for a quick lunch or leisurely dinner! read more

We have gone to TJ's a lot. In the day time for a lunch meal, food has been good. However, consistently and every single EVENING attendance has been terrible. Last night I ordered a gluten free burger and what came out was a hard, burnt puck on a stale cold bun, no mayonnaise on the burger (I ordered extra), dried out bacon and stale room temp fries. My husband was almost finished his meal and the waitress had still not come to see how we were so we flagged down a bus boy to go get her. He came back and said she would be with us in a moment. Many minutes later.. no waitress... so we went to find another waitress to make a complaint about the inedible burger. They replaced the burger which took AGES and the exact same thing came out (hot fries this time but they were crappy, not worth eating). I ate the burger, since it was almost 1030pm (we arrived shortly after 9) and I just wanted to get out of there at this point. There was actual gristle in the 2nd dried out burger on a cold crappy dry bun and the manager was a real piece of work. Waitress ignored us and we sat at the table with our finished plates, trying to get her attention whilst she cleaned and set all the other tables around us. The place was almost empty.. there is no reason for the service and the food to have been so crappy. I'm sure this place has it's moments, but it's definitely NOT WORTH GOING TO IN THE EVENING. This has become too long to bother writing shitty reviews about the other evening attempts to have a good experience here. Seriously, I have had phenomenal burgers at TJs for lunch, these two burgers that came out were truly disgusting. How awful the staff was (only our waitress and the manager) simply added insult to injury. read more
