I only have praises for this place!! Not only is it super cute on the inside and the back store is so sweet (look up their website) but the attention to detail with food is drink is 10/10. Service, food and ambiance are always great. It's on a cute little street with street parking and they take Apple Pay. I wish I lived closer I'd be here everyday!

I found myself with a free Sunday afternoon and as looking for a cute coffee spot to chill for a couple hours and landed on Turtle Beans. Interior was cute, coffee was good, and vibes were immaculate. A nice place to hang out for a short while or get some work done.

After walking around this year's Bordentown street fair, we needed a jolt. Lucky for us, we saw Turtle Beans had a table set up, and the store was open too. I'd read about how the owner is from Costa Rica and comes from a coffee growing family. If you think that means they'd have a product that beats the usual Starbucks, Dunkin, or Wawa (let's not even mention 7-11), you'd be right! I ordered an espresso, which is my usual benchmark of a good coffee shop. They nailed it: it was of course strong, but subtly sweet. Not at all like the burnt tasting, sometimes lukewarm sludge they sling at Sbux or DD. It would've been cool if it came with the seltzer on the side as some shops do it, but this was delicious on its own. My boo ordered what I call a "coffee drink" of some sort. I asked her what it was and she just told me "it was some kind of caramel thing." She liked it. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity, probably a bit less than sbux. They also have a rewards program, so sign up while you're here. They had a decent amount of seating including a couple of bar stools, and the bad bunny mix got us almost as hype as the coffee. Turtle beans is an awesome addition to Bordentown! I'm glad we now live close enough to walk here, because we plan to stop by on work days once in a while for a treat. Morning or afternoon, it's a guaranteed delight!

Suuuuper cute environment inside and out. And such fun coffee options! Like horchata, lavender cold foam, pistachio, and Mexican peanut candy (which I got and was delicious). Very unique and the staff was super friendly and helpful

What a great find! I randomly found this place since it's on my way back home from Grounds for Sculpture. The servers were helpful and friendly. The ambiance and vibe there is nice. The raspberry chocolate latte was so pretty and tasty. And I tried their caramel cheese croissant which was really delicious. Totally recommend this spot!

Turtle beans is such a wonderful addition to bordentown city! Their grand opening is this Sunday but I stopped in on their first day soft opening. I had the bordentown latte which was blueberry and vanilla flavored. I love the vibes of this place it's a great spot to get together with friends or just hangout and work. The owners are the most kind people and want you to truly relax and enjoy the coffee. Can't wait to be back!

I came on a dreary weekday, and was greeted by one of the owners. She was friendly while chatting to me as I was selecting a bag of beans and ordering a latte to stay. Im not sure if they used barista milk, as the almond milk was a bit watery. The beans I brought home didn't give many discernable tasting notes but it was still easily drinkable.

I've been to almost all the coffee shops in the area and nothing compares to the Turtle Bean Roasters. Between the coffee, atmosphere and customer service you won't find better! 10/10

The place sits like a warm thought at the corner of Farnsworth and Church, glowing with the small kindnesses that make life bearable. I ordered the RAF latte with chili honey. The barista looked at me the way a chemist might before adding the final, possibly dangerous ingredient. He asked how much heat I could handle. I told him to let it burn. He smiled the smile of someone who knows exactly what that means and drizzled with confidence. The drink was something so familiar yet completely new. Smooth, rich, and somehow gentle despite the fire. The chili honey bit like a memory of something you once loved and lost, but it soothed just as quickly. I was glad I ordered the small, which was not small at all. The cup sat in my hands like a minor planet. The interior is modest in space but large in spirit. A few stools face the street, offering a view of Bordentown's quiet choreography of pedestrians and parked cars. Inside, everything feels intentional and cared for. The staff moved with the calm competence of people who genuinely enjoy what they are doing. I had the sense that if I had stayed an hour or two longer, nobody would have hurried me along. The air smelled of espresso and butter, and the crepes being carried past me looked like edible happiness. Sweet, savory, folded with the precision of small miracles. I will be back to try them. I might even show up early again on purpose. Smachna Kawa is the kind of place that reminds you the world still knows how to nourish beautiful things in small corners.

Decided on under the moon cafe and loved the atmosphere and ambiance when we first walked in. Different mix matched tables, glasses and plates. Loved the ceiling tiles and comfy looking benches. I love duck and when I read duck Mac and cheese with cherries I was lost in wonder of the combination of flavors so of course I had to order it. Surprisingly it was very enjoyable. The Mac and cheese was nicely made cheesy, noodles weren't over cooked and over all had good flavor with pieces of duck and a few cherries mixed in. I also ordered the burger which was cooked as requested medium rare and was topped with bacon and an onion ring. I upgrade to the Parmesan truffle fries.which I was slightly disappointed in. I didn't see or taste the Parmesan but there was a slight truffle flavor. The fish tacos I heard were good but not really blacked and the vodka sauce was just okay according to others at the table.

I will say, even the bathroom was decorated to instill a sense of nostalgia. We went for brunch and started with a duck mac and cheese. As you'd expect it was a bit lighter on the duck than one would like, but was ultimately well worth trying. I'd say this goes even moreso if you're a fan of duck, as that's not the mac and cheese pairing you see most often. Beyond that, I got the fish tacos. I'm typically afraid of ordering tacos out due to portion size, and while you do only get two tacos, they are rather large, and come with a side of truffle fries which were exceptional. The tacos themselves were also fantastic and filled with the flavor you'd want and expect from the dish. While we were too full to engage with a dessert, I will say our server was nothing short of delightful and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is in a great location in downtown Bordentown and we will certainly be revisiting when we are back in the area.

Tried it today and it tasted fruity and sweet. So I went back, and then I realized this could be one of two refresher bases. I am an ex barista so I do know a little bit about what I am talking about. I used to drink the passion tea with dragonfruit base sometimes before I realized I liked just the passion tea taste. I know its not liquid cane either so I was guessing it was the strawberry base. I started to panic because I am indeed allergic to strawberries. So I went back hoping whoever made it wrong would be able to tell me what they put in it so I could have clarity on whether I need urgent care. They made me a new drink and were discussing with their backs turned and no one would admit to messing it up. The guy at the window was just saying "they said they didn't put the fruit base in it." and i was like well can you tell them that I am allergic its pretty important that I know. Still no one would tell me. I understand not remembering, but to just repeatedly insist no I didn't instead of trying to at least attempt to help me calm down because again, I have an allergy... Really disappointed, I am almost positive it was strawberry because I am starting to feel the reaction coming. Extremely careless, you couldn't deal with the lossnof integrity of messing up a drink so you had to repeatedly lie to save face, over a serious medical issue??

Out front, every table was packed shoulder to shoulder with what appeared to be a local running group in post-run celebration. Laughter, sweat, and IPAs filled the air. Inside, however, it was the crowd was sparse, save for two small groups competing in Harry Potter trivia, an event we hadn't realized was happening. After the first round, one of those tables gave up and left. That should have made the place quieter, but the trivia host's amplifier made sure it did not. Even from the far corner, it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation without shouting. It was as though someone had mistaken the volume knob for a test of strength. The bartender, to his great credit, was friendly and quick, the kind of person who makes you feel like maybe the night will work out after all. The beers themselves were fine. I tried the Pineapple Express milkshake IPA and the porter. Both were serviceable, neither was memorable. The brewery allows outside food, which is a small mercy. Being on Farnsworth, there are plenty of good places to bring something in from. They also sell simple snacks like chips and jerky, a practical touch that suits the space. Still, the whole experience left me puzzled. The place seems to want to be a neighborhood hub, but it can't decide whether to be a quiet refuge or a loud event hall. Empty yet loud, welcoming yet difficult to linger in. I wouldn't drive out of my way to return, but if a friend suggested meeting there, I'd go. I'd just hope the trivia host had the night off.

In fact, my main reason for coming was that I was curious about those. But after a meal in Btown the pale, medium sized specimens that had likely sat in their warming case for hours did not beckon me. So I checked out the 8 or so "artisan" options and decided on chocolate. All of the flavors appeared to be closer to gelato, but maybe because they were displayed in metal tubs as gelato places often do. It was dark looking and appeared to be dense, but the flavor was not dark. It was dense but not creamy. The best thing I can say about it is that it was not overly sweetened. My friend had the coconut flavor, and she was not wowed either. It's a cute shop that has housed other ice cream businesses in the past. I liked those more. But there are interesting items for sale such as candy, teas and gifts. The website states that they are affiliated with the Candy Jar in Collingswood, of which I have had occasion to visit in a previous life. Customer service was 4 stars, maybe I'll get back to try the empanadas......

I adored their original location, as it was super quaint, quirky and cozy. When they first moved to this new spot, it felt a bit more clinical and commercial but they've done a great job of personalizing it, and I'm happy they kept a lot of the original furniture. My favorite item on their menu is the Whitefish Toast -- it comes on a fresh, thick, hearty piece of seeded toast, and the whitefish salad is dressed with pickled carrots and micro greens. It's a pretty generous portion at a reasonable price. I also love their seasonal Campfire latte, which is a rich, creamy delight with a touch of sweetness. On this visit, they had run out of the marshmallow topping but they kindly offered a partial refund to make up for it. The only downside is that this place gets packed early; by 8:45am, the only seat available was in the window. People seem to post up for the day with their laptops, and while everyone loves a good coffee shop work sesh, it seems ownership may need to institute a time limit so others can enjoy the atmosphere as well. If you're dreaming of stellar coffee, tasty locally-sourced food, and nearby access to the river, this place answers all your prayers.
