This is a great place to grab a cup of coffee! A few of my friends and I make this a halfway point to meet for coffee breaks during a busy day. It's a great spot to sit down and sip on a coffee before going back on to our busy day of zoom calls. The outdoor seating is quite nice, and the staff is very friendly. The coffee beans are slightly expensive but 100% worth it. I don't think you can find higher quality and freshly roasted coffee beans anywhere in this area. read more

We've tried them in almost all the flavors (except maple which we're saving for a chilly fall day!) and caramel and vanilla are our most loved! Whenever I'm in the area, I always make time to come to Little Key. Sometimes I even make excuses to come here even though it's out of my way. I primarily do take out. This is one of the only places that make it convenient to grab and go after ordering online. I literally order on the Square site, drive 10-15 minutes, and it's there by the door ready for me without fail. The drink is usually done 5 minutes after I order too. They are efficient. Taste wise I like it. I'm a coffee-hating coffee drinker. By that I mean I only order lattes. They make a damn fine one. You get the flavor of espresso but it's smooth, sweet and not overpowering. That doesn't sound like a hard task with milk but it is! I've been to other highly rated places where the lattes taste like expired jet fuel. Now that I've been pulling espressos at home, I've started using their freshly roasted whole beans. The owner was very nice and helped me pick a varietal. And while I haven't dialed it in just right, the lattes I make taste great. Great beans in, great drinks out. TLDR; this is one of my favorite coffee spots in central Jersey. read more

A 10 oz coffee (see pic) is considered a large?? At $2.75 for this size I can get a larger cup of coffee at Starbucks, and it will be far less bitter. A black coffee from here is almost undrinkable. Original Review: I'm sorry, but I wanted so badly for this to be a great little new find in Hightstown, so I was very excited when I saw the "coming soon" sign for a specialty coffee shop right near my house. Unfortunately this establishment has a ways to go before they will get my business again. To start off with the espresso was EXTREMELY bitter, almost undrinkable. There's also nothing to the decor that's inviting in any way. There's very little si, and what there is of seating is not comfortable in any way. There's also misc. cleaning supplies and such in the main seating area and just randomly out and about. Perhaps they are still in "soft launch" mode, so I will keep an eye out to see if things change as I drive by. The other difficulty is parking, as there is no real place to park aside from fighting with the bank and post office for street parking. read more

Adorable spot downtown. Their espresso coffee roast is very yummy to make at home. Iced coffee only $2.75 -- decent size and pretty smooth, taste profile seems to vary each time. Thumbprint cookies are phenomenal (soft and powdery), but pricy for how tiny they are. Could expand menu with latte and speciality tea drink options. Little Key must hold the key to my coffee heart because I am in love. This local coffee shop has been in the works for quite some time and it was worth the wait. My go to drinks are the iced coffee with mocha or an iced oat milk latte. They roast their own coffee and ship if you are a coffee maker at home. I appreciate their walk up service during the heig ht of the pandemic. It made me feel safe getting that coffee I enjoy. Food items are locally sourced and include some cookies, scones, croissants etc. I really enjoyed the buttery texture of the cranberry scone and want to try the other pastries. Great small roaster / coffee shop in downtown Heightstown that is worth seeking out (just off Rt 130). The shop is clean, bright, and open. We ordered two cappuccinos that were made that day with a blend of Tanzania/Columbia beans. Very nice light roasted flavor. The barista was super friendly and delivered some nice latte art, which we often find equates to a good cup of coffee. Can get all types of espresso drinks and some baked goods as well. I was worried that this cafe would disappoint, based on early reviews but I wanted to try a new roastery out so I came on a very rainy day. I like how they offer pickup, so you don't have to interact much with people, and our order was ready in half the time they estimated. I was a little wary because they don't really differentiate from a cappuccino and a latte, except for size, and my small didn't really taste like a cappuccino, but it still tasted good. I bought a bag of beans as well, so I can't wait to try! Service was also friendly, even though I didn't really have to interact with them, they still said a friendly hello. read more

What a treat to have a coffee roaster right here in town! Whenever I drive by or have time for a stroll, I get something. There is ample parking right across the street in front of the post office (huge spaces too, no need for parallel parking expertise!) and around the corner. My favorite on a cool day is an oat milk latte. On a hot day, I enjoy getting an iced cafe americano. I have also purchased their freshly roasted coffee beans and luckily my BIL has a coffee grinder and can make the good stuff fresh for us when we go to his house. As painful as this is, it has to be said. I've been going to Little Key for some time now and would like to think of myself as a regular (picture for some validity). After 9 months of frequent visits I could barely get a word out of the owner/barista. Unfortunately he didn't see me as a valued customer. I can't say I was treated like one, quite honestly I don't think this place meets basic customer service standards. That's a shame coming from a quaint coffee shop that roasts its own beans and make a decent latte. Their customer service is akin to their latte art, nonexistent. This place is absolutely amazing. I was really hoping to come when I first saw it being set up, and I finally got the chance to today. I like the decor; it's sort of minimalistic, and comforting. The menu was easy to read and had good options! I got the iced masala chai. The masala taste was strong and bold, but not bitter. It had just enough sweetener, just like I wanted. It was very good! I really hope they do well, as they have great service. They also offer decaf for most drinks, as well as oat milk, if you need any alternatives. The customer service was great and understanding. Very chill and inviting. I will be hoping to go there again as soon as possible; hopefully make a habit out of it. Best experience I've had in a long time with any sort of cafe. Nope. Never again. As much as I have been excited about new coffee place in town I see this one going out of business very soon. Why? Very unpleasant stuff, unfriendly, nearly rude. I'm in my 30's and I felt like being treated as a child. In fact I have exchanged my experience with locals in town, to my surprise, their experience was identical. Customer service is the key. Delicious coffee with very fast service. First day opening so maybe they will have a few more small snacks to purchase in the future such as small cakes or cookies.
