Friendly Staff, great coffee with option of selecting the beans/roast for your coffee, pastries/few breakfast options, clean and bright interior with lot of space to sit, work, chit-chat with friends. They have a dedicated book area and quiet lounge at the back that makes it an ideal for relax either reading or get some work done. Saw someone post this on their story last week and had to give it a try. Let's just say QCC Roasters DID NOT DISAPPOINT! First, ordering online was quick and easy. You can order it immediately, or list a specific pick up time. Also, because parking in the area is rough, they offer curbside pickup, which I completely took advantage of! When you pull up; you can text them "HERE" or call the store and they will send someone out. Finally the toast was amazing. My friend and I came here after going to a local farmers market and absolutely loved it! There's even a super cute book store attached to the cafe and I think it's a perfect place to work remotely. Our drinks and food came out quickly and all of the staff were super nice! We got the egg breakfast sandwiches which were delicioussss but definitely fell apart as we ate them. Been coming here for a few months. A very nice, surprisingly large space. Friendly staff, quality coffee & espresso. Service is as to be expected as far as wait time. There's a quiet comfort to this place. You kinda get taken in and wanna relax and chill out, which you can do between the table seating, bar style seating, & couches. Very cute! Ordered a pistachio latte, honey oat latte, and an almond croissant. The iced coffee was just sweet enough not to over the top and also not bitter. I first came here during the pandemic and only grabbed coffee to go. This week I was finally able to revisit, and wow--what a difference. They renovated the interior and added a bookstore, which makes the space feel really cozy and inviting. The service was great and the coffee was excellent. I had two lattes: a specialty latte that was perfectly sweet, and a regular oat latte that was fantastic too. For food, I got an egg sandwich with a hash brown inside--so good. The egg was super fluffy and I loved it. My partner had the salmon toast, which was delicious as well. Definitely coming back! read more

What a great addition to Plainfield. It seems like it should be in a more uppity area but maybe it will help out the city a little bit. It's so cute when you walk inside with comfy seating on a couch, large table , and even stools at the window. Beautiful interior. Great concept with it being attached to a bookstore which has great seating as well. Onto my beverage and food now, lol. I ordered an iced mocha mint latte as it is winter and I'm still in the mood for mint. Got the last of the blueberry cheese danishes which was so yummy. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't offer skim milk but you can't have everything, can you? I opened for oat which I am just getting into now. It is very tasty and smooth. For those of you looking for good quality coffee and espresso, add this place to your list! Hands down one of the best (if not the best) iced lattes I have had. The espresso is so smooth that you don't even need any sweetener (though their honey oat is literally perfection). Their seasonal drinks are also unique and delicious. The staff is so nice and friendly and it has the perfect coffee shop ambiance. I had Turkish eggs in pita the last time I was there as well as their autumn latte but I've had other lattes and it is yum and it hit the spot. This was by far one of the best coffee experiences I have had in a while. We went in not really knowing what to order or what to expect. I am going to guess that the woman taking our order was the owner and if she was she was so pleasant and helpful. I found Queen City on social media and was excited to unlock a new cafe in New Jersey! I admit that the surrounding area is not the nicest, but Queen City Coffee Roasters was truly a gem. The interior is bright and welcoming... complete with an exposed brick wall. Mellow coffee shop music plays in the background. First, the coffee is legit. Very well roasted. Smooth. Bursting with flavor. I got an iced Spanish latte during my first visit. It's made with condensed milk and cinnamon.... I loved it. During my second visit I got a regular cup of drip coffee with a cinnamon roll. The coffee is smooth and has some fruity undertones. Yum! Oh, and the cinnamon roll was perfectly flaky. I have been visiting this coffee shop since it opened in 2019, though less frequently now that I live further away. Unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. The baristas were friendly and kind, though new to me. However, the manager (or owner) entered wearing a keffiyeh and soon after began a conversation with a group of students sitting in the lounge area. She asked about their classes and then, unsolicited, started discussing her political views. She explained that she wears the keffiyeh because she is Christian and her husband is Muslim, and since October 2023, she has chosen to represent her perspective through the business--selling Palestinian artwork, books, and merchandise. While businesses have the right to express their values, the conversation felt one-sided, lacking acknowledgment of the complexity of the issue or the devastating loss of life on all sides. Given the surge in global antisemitism since October 7, it was unsettling to witness this level of political messaging in a space that should feel welcoming to all patrons. As someone directly impacted by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I felt uncomfortable and out of place. Conversations about global crises should be approached with nuance, mutual respect, and an awareness of different perspectives--especially in a business setting, and especially when engaging with young people who did not seek out this discussion. For those who value balanced dialogue and inclusivity, I would caution that this café actively promotes a specific viewpoint. While I respect the right of any business to operate as they choose, I also have the right to take my business elsewhere, and I will. read more

Right in the heart of Plainfield, near the train station is Queen City Roasters. A small coffee shop with seating both inside and out. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Lots of open seating and metered parking on the street. The barista greeted me as soon as I came in and made a couple suggestions. I opted for a hot chai with their banana bread. The chai was delicious and felt like a fall day... warm and cozy. I ventured in because of Yelp reviews (thanks fellow yelpers!) and to try something new since my favorite coffee spot is 25 minutes from my house. GPS directions were precise and I found street parking with ease. The banana bread was moist and fresh, albeit a bit pricey at $5. Now for the downside - I ordered a medium sized, medium roast hot coffee with hazelnut syrup, cream and sugar. It's the most watery coffee I've had in my life (well, at least in recent memory) and therefore, I did not finish it, although I had high hopes that I would love it! read more

What a lovely spot for coffee! It was love at first sight as soon as I walked in. The interior was just so fresh, open and beautiful. Obviously i took a ton of pics! Lol To start the day, hubster got a latte and I opted to get a cortado for a change. I always get flavored latte so I thought I'd try something different. I'm glad I did, the cortado was bold in flavor but delicious. Good ratio of milk and espresso for sure! The latte art (or cortado art) is of course a big bonus. We love latte arts after all! Queens City roasters also have beans by the bag but unfortunately we needed our beans grounded for espresso and their grinder machine didnt have that option today for some reason. I'm a regular here bc the staff is friendly, professional and makes great coffee. They also care about the community. Their beans are roasted fresh daily and they have rotating beans to purchase. The interior is relaxing and the clientele is diverse and friendly. My go-to drinks: Ethiopian pourover, Spanish Latte (cinnamon, condensed milk), standard drip coffee is excellent, Horchata (if it's on the menu), cold brew. Free wifi. Street parking. We decided to venture out a bit for our weekend beverages. I saw the beautiful photos of the drinks from this location and knew I had to visit. This place has such a sweet store front and vibe inside. It is modern and clean with simple details that make the space inviting and enjoyable. We visited on a Saturday (8/21/21), a little before 11AM. We got street parking right away. The barista that took our order was very nice. What we ordered: - Cold Brew - Iced London Fog (Earl Grey Tea steeped and blended with steamed milk and vanilla) - Lavender Breeze (coconut water, in-house lavender syrup, butterfly pea flower tea and lemonade) - Chocolate Flaky Pastry (Balthazar Bakery) - Vegan Cookies & Cream cake jar (@_cakejars_) Honestly that highlight of the trip was the cake jar, I've had plenty of vegan desserts they can sometimes lack in several department but this one is just to die for. All the drinks were ok, nothing special but also not bad. I probably wouldn't order the Lavender Breeze again seeing how the small size is $6.50 and although it is very beautiful unless you like all of the ingredients individually you might not enjoy it. read more

This is a really cute place, with amazing ambiance, and potential. The staff are friendly. I would however, recommend a few opportunities to make it even better. I was interested in drip coffee. They had only two varietals, which are not dripped to order, but rather reside in a thermos. They were also not single origin, but a blend. I think it is harder to make an amazing blend, vs just have really good single sourced, freshly roasted, dripped to order coffee. I think this idea is worth exploring. Secondly, the price point. The price of a cup of coffee was very reasonable, at under $4 per small cup. However, if one wanted to purchase beans, it was something to the effect of $50+ something dollars per 2 lbs. La colombe by comparison is $32-37 per 2lbs. I think there is room in the market for coffee which is perhaps more expensive, but then it has to be substantially better than the competition. The blend, I tried was okay, but not something I would invest a premium into. read more
