A tiny space carved out behind an indoor golf simulator? Huh. OK. Inside, it's possibly half the size of the original A.W. Wander (which I dubbed a beer closet), so please don't bring your volleyball team, or your book club, or whatever. Yes, the whiskey list does seem to be exhaustive. My friend picked a scotch. I selected a pils from Lower Lake (huge shoutout to this brewery -go there! Buy their beer!) and my other friend grabbed an IPA. We sat at one of two tables outside, and there appears to be more seating wrapped around the side (at least, I assume that's where the cute young couple migrated two with their espresso martinis after enduring our old guy banter for only so long). Didn't explore the food menu, but it seems satisfying, and the servers shuttle back and forth from the bar to the enclosed food trailer that serves as the kitchen. Great, welcoming staff, a very enjoyable live music set going on. All around, a chill spot and welcome change of pace.

Locating Thompson Road Tavern online, it looked like a good place to go... and we weren't wrong! The tavern is small, featuring a bar with several tables in 2 separate rooms. There is a jukebox and a lottery machine. Locals gather to shoot the breeze, drink, & laugh together. The bartender was accommodating & brought our food & drinks after we ordered at the bar. I wasn't thrilled with my salad, but the dirty fries more than made up for it. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger and beer. Should we return to Syracuse, we'll be back!

It is not this way at other bars as the entertainment is an afterthought for people to listen to as they socialize and drink spending money. They want the money but cater to ones not spending it and then try to bleed the ones coming for the entertainment by forcing minimums even on those that bought a ticket and never showed up. RESPONSE to Owner: Then it is best to change all your Misguiding information on your website and Facebook pages. How doe one "SOCIALIZE" with people and "LOUNGE" around doing so as in your own descriptions on your website and Social Media? How can you charge people that don't show on a ticket for a table set-up on your minimum purchase, when those that did attend went way beyond the minimum purchase on those that attended INCLUDING the ticket that was a NO SHOW? Price Gouging or a Venue that is desperate for money trying to fleece those that "attend" and don't attend for your Shows? Where does it state that policy as to NO-SHOWS and what makes it Legal? You may feel certain ways about your Venue, but it doesn't pay the bills as you have basically asked to nickel and dime members yet won't do anything to improve your bottom line or approach? Hobbys are great but having a "Alligator" as a hobby will eat you out of house and home.
