Not a big casino guy, but when you have a good meal someplace, it's good to give kudos. A colleague of mine and I prepare for a tradeshow here and were looking for a restaurant with a casual atmosphere. We found it. There are a lot of restaurant choices on the complex as you may know, and a variety of cuisines to pick from. Here you get a variety of menu options from salads to sandwiches to full on entrées. We both went with the haddock dinner. I chose mine to be broiled. Food came out pretty quick from a very friendly staff. The broiled fish was OK in size and not fishy tasting. It was accompanied with coleslaw and you had choices to add to it. I went with the brussels sprouts. They were quite good as was the coleslaw. Easiest place to go in the turning stone. It's a little pricey but it's worth it in my opinion. Also note that if you are going during an event they have it will be busy and you will be waiting to sit. My mom and I like to go here whenever we come up for an event and that's what we did after a day full of shopping at their annual craft show. The wait to sit down was 2 hours but we opted to wait and find seats at the bar. Took us about 15 min. Once we sat the bartenders were all great and very prompt, always checking on us. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings and honestly they were so good! Crispy a d the onion didn't slide right out when taking a bite. We were honestly almost full just from that. We also got a burger to split and they were great about it they even played it separately no extra charge. The burger was perfectly cooked to medium. The maple glaze and Gorgonzola cheese were put on the side just like we asked. We're typically not picking a burger to eat, but this one was delicious! Had a really good late lunch at The Upstate Tavern after donating some money at the casino. We all truly enjoyed our food, it came out hot and you could see how fresh everything was. Man o' man this dinner was amazing. Service was fantastic ( I wish I remember the waiters name) and the food was beyond delicious. This is my favorite food at Turning Stone Casino, I haven't yet eaten at all 26 of the restaurants, but I've been to a number of them and the Upstate Tavern stands out both for the delicious, homestyle food and the laid-back convenient location. I've loved all of the dishes that I've had here but stand outs include the Poutine, Mac and Cheese bites, and corn chowder appetizers and the signature burger, Philly cheesesteak, and meatloaf. There is a bar at the entrance overlooking the Casino entrance with a great beer list and terrific drinks and the staff is always friendly and helpful. There tends to be a wait on weekends during the lunch and dinner hours so it helps to get there a little early and they also have a late night menu. There are not a lot of options for lunch at the Turning Stone and I'm not a huge fan of the buffet. This is a good alternative. Had the beef on weck which was quite satisfying albeit pricey. It was really the only thing open when we went to the casino. Service was good, food was good and the atmosphere was ok. Overall good

We visited the bar during happy hours and tried a couple of local distillery's gin and vodka. They were pretty good and thanks to the happy hour, quite inexpensive. They also have a decent appetizer menu with happy hour prices. We tried the truffle fries too and they were alright. I would give it 3/5. The upside down bourbon pecan cake was exquisite. It definitely needs to be shared as it is too sweet to finish it alone. Also, the happy hour does not apply when you sit for dining. It's only at the bar and that was disappointing, though you can order food at the bar. Lastly, the waiters and bartenders were friendly, the ambience just like any other pub. This is typically the first place I recommend when asked where to eat at the casino, and the main reason is I love their burgers. I'm super picky about burgers but they always seem to be cooked perfectly. Get the truffle fries instead of regular fries and you will not regret it. Check out the cocktails (or one of the boozy milkshakes!), too. It's a big place and the decor is nice, with some historical touches. I've never had to wait too long for the food, either. The Upstate Tavern at Turning Stone Resort has something for everyone. I eat here every time I visit. The Tavern everything melt is probably my favorite sandwich on the menu. Recently brought my son and nephew for the first time. My nephew is a notorious eater. He commented that not many restaurant sandwiches can fill him up but the Everything Melt did just that. The staff are always friendly and service is quick. Price is a little high but you are in a casino. The layout of the restaurant is very relaxed. TV's playing sports but not as many as a typical sports bar so you aren't overwhelmed with noise. This place is always reliable. I definitely recommend a visit. read more

All things considered, the prices were reasonable. Good thing, as we "donated" a certain portion of our funds back to the business downstairs. You're Welcome! I've eaten here many times and it's always consistently good. The only drawback is that they do not take reservations at all. On a night when they have a concert at the turning stone it's impossible to get in. We had a party of 8 on a Thursday night (no concert that night) and we had no trouble at 6:00. Our server was excellent! He amazed me because he did not write anything down but got our drink orders and food orders 100% correct! I like the theme of the menu because it's upstate New York foods. They have chicken riggies on the menu and Hoffman hot dog and salt potatoes. For the appetizers we had: onion rings, bread sticks and fried Mac and cheese bites. All were very good. For my dinner I had the burger with fries. It was cooked perfectly at medium rare and the fries were not greasy and not overly salted. Food was decent and server was very nice, but slow and forgetful. The kid sliders were supposed to be well done, but came out medium with a lot of pink in it. Our friend's chicken riggies was forgotten, so he received his meal when the rest of us were finished eating and there was no compensation to him. We had to request refills on all drinks, and the bills even after we were sitting there for awhile with our plates pushed away. Friday night dinner post golf to kick off a golf weekend. Expected a wait and was told 45 minutes but found a spot at the bar to chill. Best beer selection in the casino bar none. Friendly bartenders. And their house lager is outstanding! Wait turned out to be only 20 mins. Promptly seated. Here is a sign of a great staff: Our first server came over to tell us that shifts are switched and Tiffany would eventually take care of us but she wanted to be sure we got drinks and appetizers done. She actually stayed with us longer than expected as Tiffany was delayed. That's great partnership. Appetizers were the star of the show: Poutine. Mac and cheese bites. Pretzels. All outstanding. All worth it. I got the Binghamton Spedie Sandwich for dinner. Really well done and definitely worth it. Again, if you know what you're in for (loud casino restaurant) this place is a great stop. We have never been here although many times have eaten at Turning Stone Casino's other food places. I saw a photo of beef on a weck which my dining partner loves so we decided to try it. I ordered the Tavern blue cheese burger with carmelized onions, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato on a brioche with russet fries. Cooked as ordered pretty good burger and fries had good flavor. Internet access near impossible so no check in and I was hungry so no pics either. Beef on a weck only served medium rare which is how he likes it so good there. Also served with russet fries. Beef was not flavorful by itself but horseradish was good. Service was friendly and quick. Our check change was dropped at the table by the manager without receipt and waitress was nowhere in sight. This restaurant has terrible customer service skills and poor business manners!!! While in the turning stone casino this past Saturday for their craft fair, my cousins and I visited for lunch. Since I have allergies to many foods, i asked the waitress(Marsha) if she could order me a simple salad, just lettuce, cucumbers and pieces steak instead of chicken. That is all. She said she would. And then came out at the end with a bill of $45 and change for just that little simple salad. I called over a gentleman that looked like he may be a manager, (Gary) and asked him if that charge was right, and explained, that I didn't think it was right to charge me for a 'full steak dinner' when I only had a little lettuce and cucumbers with it. He proceeded to tell me, he's not the restaurant manager, (Dave is) and Dane wasn't working, but just a supervisor filling in. He went back to talk to the chef, (Yolanda) and she said that steak dinners are $45, and because she cut up a full piece of steak for the salad, she was charging that price. After talking to him for several minutes, I was disgusted and payed the bill, but I'll never return to their restaurant again!! That was so wrong of them! And the waitress for not coming over and explaining that to me before serving me that little skimpy salad! That is very bad business! This is the second time I had been here and the first time I was not impressed. This time around it was pretty satisfying. It was a busy event day at the casino and you could tell when we first showed up they were a little frazzled. My friend ordered a pretzel app to share and they were delicious. Warm and chewy like a pretzel should be. Mustard is super spicy in the best way. Really clears your sinuses. My friends all got the boozy milkshakes just to say they did. They didn't want the vanilla bean but it was the only one without vodka and they would not allow you to change the liquor in them bc of the "flavor profile" allegedly. They said they were still very good and very boozy. The pecan financier cake was delicious and fluffy but super sweet so if you order this make sure you have a sweet tooth or have someone to share with. Two of my friends ordered salads. $7 to add chicken to already very expensive salads. Salads were not bad but not worth the hefty price and the small amount of chicken added. Chucks tavern burger was phenomenal. Flavorful, perfectly cooked and toppings were fresh. Fries won the afternoon. The fries were amazing. Although there is an option to sit down and dine, this place is perfect if you just want a quick bite to eat and don't feel like grabbing something out of the "cafeteria" ( which is currently closed for reconstruction). Especially on a Friday or Saturday night where all the restaurants are booked for reservations you can come here and sit at the bar and get a great meal. I suggest the tavern Burger and adding a fried egg to it. The grilled cheese and tomato soup combo is also excellent. The grilled cheese has a variety of cheese is on it and topped with caramelized onions. My boyfriend raves about their chicken wings and their pecan salad with fruit in it. I dislike that their french fries are not always fresh and look like they have been sitting there for hours.
