Turkish flat bread

Lovely spot in Roscoe village. They have plenty of outdoor seating. The bread they have out was very good! Really like the spread they provided. The mixed platter was perfect to share. Highly recommend the flatbread as well, it came with fresh vegetables and was packed with flavor

Turquoise salad with beef kabob

Better for a smaller affair. A friend had a party of almost 30. Surprisingly this place had the space for it, which doesn't initially seem possible from looking in, but there is a second wing of the restaurant. However, they did not properly staff for our party. We had a single server for nearly 30 people. There were several assistants running food, but there was only one server who could answer questions or take orders. She did her best and she was awesome but it just felt they were under prepared for a group of our size, which would have been forgivable had their marketing not been pushing the "great for events and groups" message. The prices here are a bit daunting and there is really only one option for food specific to group dining, the meat platter that serves 4. But they should really develop more plated seating options for large groups if they're going to market themselves as a group dining venue. Instead, everything here is a la carte. For me, the more expensive something is, the more it has to wow me. Although I enjoyed the food, it wasn't proportionate to the cost. I originally budgeted to spent about $85, however all the dishes I was excited about had scallops, which they were out of, as it is very popular. I do appreciate the fact that their food is fresh and probably purchased in small batches to maintain quality. But it's always a sad day when missing out on scallops. So instead I went the more economical route and had the turquoise salad with beef kabob. It was bright, vibrant and flavorful. Very fresh tasting. Arugula, candied walnuts, spiced pears. Delightful. I asked for medium rare and was concerned at first that it was closer to rare, but it was tender and well seasoned so I didn't mind. Another guest at the table asked for well done and had to send it back to cook more. (But thats their fault for ruining gold meat by wanting it well done!) While I felt a bit lacking that I didn't have rice, I think the arugula was a good choice. I originally ordered the saganaki but they brought it out very fast and not aflame, with a burnt spot on top...which is not typical of saganaki. I asked if they were going to light it and they took it away as if they made a mistake. Then brought another one already on fire instead of lighting it tableside...but it looked like the same one they brought the first time. Nothing was sizzling, despite the flame and it was dry and crumbly and not melty at all. I hate sending food back but I couldn't eat it. It came with a sort of spiced peach side (though the menu said pepper jelly?) that was nice, but I didn't understand the relation to pepper jelly. I had mentioned a couple times that I wanted dessert and Turkish coffee when I placed my order because others at the table were trying to figure out how we would be paying. A nightmare, and God bless the waitress for putting up with us, honestly. But I had my order and my math all ready to go. But despite telling me she'd take my dessert order when the time came, it never happened, they brought checks without revisiting dessert. So despite budgeting for $85 I ended up spending $45. So I honestly can't really complain (though I know I just did, I must be honest). I might come back for a fancy date, or perhaps on someone else's dime, but I likely would not book a party here again. If I ever have a taste for a tender steak, though, I probably would come back for the beef kabob because it really was the highlight of the meal.

The food was absolutely delicious! Came here with a group and we decided to try a few dishes and liked everything. Forgot to take a picture of it but my favorite would have to be the Turkish pizza, not as heavy as you would think. The restaurant was very empty when we got there so I was a little worried about how it would be but everything turned out well. And the bread that came with the meal was super fresh and tasty.

I also came here for brunch & their all you can eat brunch menu is amazing! Everything was very fresh and the flavors were on point. The server was also very friendly. Can't recommend this place enough!

I've been to many Turkish spots around Chicagoland but none of them had mantı. Turquoise however did, and it was delicious! Also tried their mercimek çorba (lentil soup). Finished off with some Turkish tea. The service was good. Was there around a quiet time maybe 4pm. What I didn't care for was the country/Christian music that was playing. Didn't fit or match the restaurant at all. Definitely will come back though!

Sunday Brunch
Natalie G.

I made reservations for my friends and I on a Sunday morning. We did their brunch menu. I believe brunch is only on Sunday from 10am-2pm. For $28/person you get soooo much! The pic is what you get and there still were 2 more dishes coming out as I took the pic! Everything was delicious! I like how tea or coffee is included as well. The staff were nice and our waitress Ada was great! She answered all my questions and even told me some interesting fun facts about Turkey ;). There's free street parking. I'll come back to try their other dishes.

Hunkar Begendi (Sultan's Delight)
Ruby P.

My boyfriend and I came here back in February for Valentine's Day dinner. We enjoyed it here! There were heart-shaped balloons all over the ceiling and candlelight on the table - very nice Valentine's Day atmosphere. I got Hunkar Begendi (Sultan's Delight) and my boyfriend got Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta. Both were good! The Hunkar Begendi was essentially mashed eggplants topped with lamb. It was very flavorful. Though it was a small portion for the price and I wish it had some greens at least. They served us their complimentary homemade bread and sauce which made up for it. The bread and sauce tasted fresh, delicious!

We went as big group of 14. Made a Reservation. We all got the brunch. It was so good !! All the food came out family style and was more than enough to fill us up! It also comes with coffee and tea. Or server was very nice and they made sure to keep our drinks and plates full.

Delicious food and great outdoor area. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush.

The restaurant had such a nice ambience. They have a nice patio seating. Everything was delicious and made with quality ingredients. They have plenty of vegetarian options as well including traditional dishes and drinks. I got to try this red carrot juice which paired nice with the meats.

Adana Kebab

went for lunch with an old friend there on Friday right at opening and had a lovely meal. the service was very nice from our server, Miné, and the all the items of food were very tasty. the only downside was the rice, which felt a bit overcooked/dry, but the rest of the food made up for it! i had Turkish tea throughout the meal, and we ordered the falafels as a starter. the food came with carrot spread and bread which was tasty and the falafels were flavourful and the cabbage salad that came with it was great. i had the adana kebab plate which was excellent! just slightly spicy (i could have used more!) and my friend had the chicken kebabs which also looked tasty. the space was cute and cozy and would definitely be back for a dinner vibe after dark. we were also offered some baklava on the house at the end of the meal which were truly delicious. but i will be back because i saw a kazandibi on the menu and those are one of my favs!

This drink pictured was sooo good! Never had a cocktail like it and it was amazing. All the food here is good and the servers are so nice! Love the live music too

Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday night and the food was amazing! My husband and I ordered drinks and then the spring rolls and falafel for appetizers... So delicious! We both ordered the mixed grill kabobs platter and everything tasted fresh...and we both enjoyed it very much! Will definitely be coming back here!

The atmosphere is lively yet intimate, perfect for a date night or a special dinner without feeling stuffy or overly formal. Service was great - attentive without being intrusive, and our server checked in just enough to make sure everything was going well. Hummus: 9/10 Not much to say other than it was incredible. Smooth and flavourful Falafel: 9/10 Perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was paired with pickled ginger and carrots, which complemented the saltiness of the falafel beautifully and added a nice brightness. Lamb Kofta: 9/10 So much depth of flavor with a great texture. Somewhat firm but not dry with a nice bounciness that made it really enjoyable to eat. Pistachio Ravioli: 10/10 my favourite dish of the night. The ravioli was cooked al dente with just the right amount of filling and paired with an orange blossom sauce that surprisingly worked perfectly with the nuttiness of the pistachio. Steak Skewers: 8.5/10 Cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. The beans served alongside were amazing as well. My only complaint is that the steak was slightly lacking in flavour, it could have used a sauce to elevate it but it was still excellent on its own. Lamb Chops: 9/10 Perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. Came with a lamb sausage spanakopita that was delicious. My only disappointment was that there were just two small chops. Rice Pudding Brulee: 7/10 Not bad. I'm not a big dessert person in general, but this was decent. Not too sweet, and the texture of the rice was really well done. Salted Tahini Ice Cream: 7.5/10 A mild, nutty flavor that was unique and interesting.

We ordered the Crispy Falafel with garlic yogurt, seasonal pickles, and lemon oil, and I was actually obsessed with it. I've never had falafel before, so I didn't totally know what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. The garlic yogurt added such a good flavor to everything and tied it all together perfectly. My only tiny complaint is that I wish there had been a little more of the yogurt because it was that good. For drinks, I got the Tequila Sunset with tequila, saffron liqueur, orange, grenadine, and lime, plus a mimosa, and both were amazing. Super refreshing and perfect for a brunch into afternoon drinks kind of day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that the service towards the end wasn't the best, but honestly, it still didn't ruin the experience for us. The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere still made it a really fun spot, and somewhere I'd definitely go back to again.

I might suggest cutting back on overall size of the salad but not on the ratios of the recipe. The soup was flavorful and they provided me with gluten-free bread. And my friend absolutely loved the cous cous - generous portions, flavorful spices. My husband had had the lamb shank last time which he found a bit dry. We are lucky to have a wide range of cuisine options near our place in Andersonville, and now we can add Turkish-Georgian fusion to our regular rotation. We had a wonderful meal there--I took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu and ordered cioppino. Half the time I order seafood in a restaurant, I end up with rubbery shrimp and tasteless fish. Not at Oda. Their seafood stew was filled with great stuff. My wife had tokat chicken, which she also enjoyed. The humus, Khachapuri, salad and dessert flight were also excellent. It would be fun to go there with a group. It's an ideal place for a shared-plate night out with friends. But there is one thing--like most restaurants in the city, the tables are close together, which is totally fine. We're not looking for Applebee's-type table separation when we go out. Even when you get a table a few inches between two others, it takes about 30 seconds to isolate your own conversation and enjoy your meal, unless you're next to a table where the diners are essentially yelling at each other. I'm not talking about a couple fighting about money or a bunch of 30-somethings getting rowdy on Moscow mules and umami burgers during a night out without their kids. I'm talking about two people yelling--in a friendly way--about the most mundane subject of all: their coworkers. We noticed as soon as we sat down but by the time we considered asking to be moved, the three tables nearby were filled. No big deal. It was kind of entertaining, in an eardrum-splitting way. Their conversation was shockingly loud. And not just the statements, like "SHE THINKS SHE'S IN LINE FOR HIS JOB," but also the brief conversational acknowledgements, like "YEAH! FOR SURE!" It was like sitting next to dueling car alarms. If you're familiar with Pee-Wee's Playhouse, picture the obnoxious salesman who loudly blah-blah-blahs his way to a quickly slammed door, courtesy of Mr. Herman, but two of them whose faces are two feet apart. And we had no door to slam. All that being said, this isn't a knock on the restaurant at all. And since Oda is so close and so good, we'll be back. And hopefully by then, Josh from accounting figures out how to use Smartsheet--"RIGHT? IT'S RIDICULOUS!"--so if we do end up next to the Decibel Duo, we'll have a new workplace dilemma to listen to.
