We had a fantastic breakfast at Turning Point! It was my first visit and I was truly impressed. The restaurant has a modern, inviting vibe with plenty of seating, but it does get very busy. Our server, Brianna, was amazing--super attentive and incredibly helpful when it came to navigating the menu. She really made the experience even better. I'm a big fan of Kona coffee, and Turning Point offers it French pressed, which was a huge win for me. It easily serves two, maybe even three cups, and the flavor is outstanding. They also offer other French press flavor options, which is a nice touch. While Kona isn't available by the cup, they do have a house blend, other brews, and a great selection of specialty drinks. The menu is extensive, and honestly, everything sounded delicious--it was hard to choose! I have to say, the entire staff here were great. From the moment we got here, they were super attentive and just really nice. Our waitress just made my day. It took me an hour plus to drive here and I was already stressed from sitting in traffic. However, she consistently had a smile on her face. Just putting things into perspective and that stress went away. I ordered the vanilla chai latte which is one of my favorites, a cup of the chili and a non yolk omelet. As a fan of the Turning Point, I had to come try the new location in Old Bridge. I have to say, this place totally lives up to the standards of the other locations. I always get half of a seaside jersey club and half of the chop chop salad as part of the create your own combo. The ingredients are always fresh, and I love how crispy the chicken and bacon are on the salad. Even the ranch for the salad has a nice, thick texture with a strong peppercorn flavor. The cannoli cold brew was also a delicious treat with a generous amount of cold foam and a cannoli on the side! Huge shout out to our server Samantha! She was so friendly and accommodating to our party. While this restaurant gets busy, they do an excellent job at managing the waitlist and serving customers with great care and speed. This spot just recently opened. We got there right before the place was closing. We were lucky enough to be seated right away. The place was nice and cozy. Everything was new. Our food came in promptly. I had the Tuscany Omelette. My wife had the Western Omelette, my son had the Shakshuka. They were delicious. The servings were just right. Not too big, not too small. If you compare their food to Cozi (formerly known as Comfi) on RT. 516, also in Old Bridge, Cozi's servings are larger, more food coma-inducing and a bit greasier (not too much). The Turning Point's food is a bit more posh. My only complaint was that our server seemed confused that time and mixed up or missed some items in our orders. He also forgot about our water refill. I love turning point locations as a whole and this one is no different. I love their skillets and the coffee is always good. French toast is delicious! It's a great place to either sit and work or hang with some friends and family for breakfast. Their servers are always polite and attentive no matter how busy it gets. Just opened a month ago... We are somewhat familiar with Turning Point. Having visited their location a few years ago in Holmdel. They are located in a new strip mall in the Glenwood Green neighborhood of Old Bridge. When we first arrived around 11:00 there was a line for tables. Which was a 40 minute wait on a Sunday morning. Don't be deterred. Ended up at a communal table instead of that wait. For our caffeine fix, she had a Hotchata and I chose the Cannoli cold brew. Our entrees were a Goat omelet and Lemon/Blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Service was good. Believe me, she was pretty busy. This is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. read more

I've been wanting to try this place ever since they opened. We were immediately seated after arriving. We got a French Press Jersey Devil to share and we thought the coffee was nice and strong. Hubs ordered the Key West shrimp omelet, which has shrimp avocado, bacon, tomato, cilantro and jack cheese. He said that the omelet was fluffy and had plenty of shrimp. It's what you would expect in an omelet. There was nothing special about it. I had the Seaside Toast, which is thick multigrain toast topped with smashed Hass avocados, large chunks of snow crab, pickled onion, lemon zest and everything bagel seasoning. It's served with 2 eggs your way and citrus dressed mixed greens. I ordered my eggs over easy and Hubs liked my entree better than his. There was plenty of snow crab and it tasted fresh. The crab paired really well with the avocados. We were squeezed into a table for two by the windows by the bus boy station and didn't understand why. There were other tables available. Meanwhile, they gave this guy a whole booth. He barely ordered anything but he stayed there working on his laptop. That's our biggest bugaboo. Service was quick, though. I looove this franchise! The cannoli cold brew's foam is so decadent and it comes with a cute little cannoli. Loved it! I added milk to mine because I prefer lattes and it was perfect! Had the big easy benedict as well for the first time. I was very impressed! The cornbread was so soft, the onions and peppers went so well with the creole seasonings. This particular location opened earlier this week, I believe - so this was likely their big first weekend opening. I ordered my meal to go, so my review will be based off of that. My favorite meal at the Turning Point is the big easy Benedict. I've ordered this dish dozens of times at other locations. However my takeout meal was sadly mediocre. The vegetables were overcooked and the avocado had started to turn brown. There were only very small pieces of thinly sliced sausage. The flavor was okay but it could have been so much better. I wonder if it would have been better as a dine in meal today. I will still return because I know this restaurant can be excellent. Maybe my meal suffered as a result of their opening weekend rush. I view turning point as one of the more "affordable" brunch options, with each entree costing roughly $10-12. Each location has a modern, "by the boardwalk" vibe with neutral colors and plenty of sunlight via the large windows throughout the restaurant. On the menu, I appreciated there was a calorie count for each item -- for the customers trying to healthily hit their diet goals, I thought it was a nice touch. In terms of service, after the 30min wait our server was pretty attentive with regular checkins throughout our meal to see if we wanted anything else. Food also came decently fast after about 30min. For my drink, I got Annie's lemonade (lemonade and black tea). I was pleasantly surprised by the lemonade, as the gradient was aesthetically pleasing and wasn't too sweet. The lemonade had similar texture to margarita mix and the flavor combination with the ice tea was very refreshing on a hot day like today. Worth the few extra bucks. For my entree, I got the Nashville hot chicken wrap. It was a good fried chicken wrap, but I think the dish was named based on trendiness and buzzwords that would catch a customer's eye. It was a well-made wrap with crispy chicken, fresh veggies, and an equal distribution of sauce. But it is not "Nashville hot chicken". The leafy greens were fresh, but the dressing was not evenly distributed and I barely got any citrus dressing. I wish the kitchen was more attentive to this even when the side salad is just some leafy greens. For my friend, they got the power up bowl, which consisted of greens, beans, lentils, and some vegan eggs. I was surprised by how similar the vegan eggs were to the texture of scrambled eggs! My husband and I Were very disappointed after Turning Point was highly recommended. The waitress was training and was very sweet along with the girl trying her, it was the food, we both had the 2 eggs 2pancakes, breakfast potatoes, English Muffin, wheat toast and Bacon, specified well well well done bacon. Everything came out separately, the potatoes looked like they were just thrown on the dish, scrambled eggs were dry, (pancakes were perfect) never got the bacon till we were half way through, bacon was NOT crispy, had to again wait, which wasent long, but by this we were annoyed, then came the toast. They were very apologetic and kind but I just feel they knew we were not happy, no Manager approached us to maybe "fix" the problem or make me feel at least they were concerned, Nothing, absolutely Nothing..we did not like the feeling we got when we left. I know the place is still considered new so I am not leaving a horrible review as I know there is room to improve and this place has potential. This isn't my first time at this location, I've been here before and it's just not great- very hit or miss. I came here about two weeks ago and the food was salty, coffee mug was dirty and the shrimp for the omelette was raw. The server was good, very polite- her name is Nora. She was very pleasant so I can't complain about service. The biggest pain point is the food which needs to improve as the purpose of coming here is to eat. Prices are fair. I honestly don't get how people like Turning Point. To me, it feels like a glorified, decent breakfast buffet at best. The omelette had tiny bacon bits instead of the hearty pieces you'd get at a diner, which was disappointing. The chicken and waffles weren't much better, basically just chicken fingers on top of waffles, and the hot honey sauce was terrible. Overall, not worth the hype. Terrible! Waited over an hour for our food for it to only come wrong! Sent it back and it still came wrong. The server was quite a comedian and came over to the table before we got our food and want to know how we enjoyed. Everything didn't find it funny but I'm sitting with children and waiting over an hour for food. And the coffee was terrible. read more

Have had great breakfast meals many times at the Manalapan location but just had very mediocre lunch at the new Old Brisge location. I ordered the Cosmopolitan salad and it was terrible--not sure if it was the candied walnuts or the vinaigrette dressing but something was so sugary that it tasted liked kid's candy. Not what I want in a salad! I'll try a breakfast meal again, but steer clear of other items. read more

I Called in to put my name in the waiting list today at turning point. The lady on the phone stated it was not a reservation (point noted). On arrival I gave my name and was checked in. 5 mins later another lady walked in and put her name in the list. After waiting 35 mins, the lady walks up to the hostess and asks how much longer. The girl states oh I can seat you right now. How inappropriate with us sitting right there. Do you not look at list? I will never return here again, nor will I recommend this restaurant. There are other Turning points or go to Toast in route 9 instead. Unless you like to wait and be passed up, by the hostess that does even bother to look at the list. read more

My first visit a few months ago was a 4+, today for breakfast it is a 1.5, rounded to two stars. Why did I give it so high a mark ? Well my power egg white omelette with mushrooms and onion and squash was really good. The $4.00 coffee was worse than used engine oil. So so so so bitter and my wife agreed. It tasted bitter and peppery. My wife ordered avocado toast with eggs. The eggs were cold. Yes, they remade the eggs, but it was inedible. My wife thinks it was liquid eggs, but that is just conjecture. I paid over $40.00 for two breakfasts and we did not enjoy. Service was great and they had no problem remaking the eggs. Unfortunately, the horrible coffee had such a negative effect on us, that perhaps it made the food taste awful, at least for my wife. As I said my omelette was very good. I picked a low calorie dish, I couldn't believe the calorie content on most items. Will not return. read more
