The panini ciabatta bread was harder than most other panini sandwiches at other places. Grilled chicken was bland and a tad dry. The Turkey Brie was overpowered by the mustard. I use to love this place and come every single week. The last two times I came I received the same salad I ordered every single week for three years and now it's only half the size at the same price. It barely had any goat cheese, walnuts, or cranberries either. Today I came in and not only was the salad half the portion size, but the bread they gave me was stale as a rock! It was extremely disappointing since they always served fresh delicious bread and made one of the best salads. Somewhere down the line I'll give it another shot, but no time soon. Panini Bistro is a decent spot for a sandwich but the bar is high with the saturated market for sandwiches in the area. Their fries are delicious but the prosciutto they used in the chicken, mozzarella, and prosciutto sandwich was almost not edible. The sandwich itself minus the prosciutto was delicious. Can't understand the many one and two star reviews because Panini Bistro has been consistently good since I began going to the Spotswood location a few years ago. I now go to the Matawan location because it's closer to home. I've tried a few of the paninis and liked them all but my go to is the P23, steak, goat cheese, arugula, and caramelized onions. Always good. Always filling. If you want one of those ridiculously overstuffed sandwiches don't come here. If you want a sandwich where all the ingredients are balanced perfectly and complement each other then come here and be satisfied. Extremely rude, unprofessional, & unpleasant owner. Called to inform them they got one of our sandwiches wrong & that we would like a new one the way we ordered it. Instead of simply apologizing and getting one cooked the owner called my mother a liar and continued to argue with her because he refused to be anything other than right. What kind of behavior is that? Egotistical and narcissistic behavior. So uncalled for when you're supposed to serving the customer. I had their classic pastrami on rye (P28) which was really delicious as well as we opted in for some Cajun fries which were crispy and well seasoned,definitely enough for two of us Service was great, friendly. I was going to my friends & he bought me a sandwich & asked for me to pick up food here. Free food is always good & I was very impressed with this place. The restaurant was very clean & the staff was really friendly. I had a vegetable panini and it was fantastic! My friend got a soppressa & prusciutto panini. Of course he's eating dead pig and risking a heart attack but I appreciate the selection. They also used aluminum & paper 2go containers instead of plastic which I also appreciate. Decided to give this place a try for lunch. I'm so glad we did! I had a delicious Turkey, Brie panini (P7). The Brie and Alice of apple make this sandwich! The bread was fresh and crispy. It was a substantial sandwich-I was going to take half home but it was just too good! We also got the Cajun fries which were a bit too salty for me but they were excellent. Fresh and crispy. Not only did the food sound delicious on the menu but it also looked delicious and tasted amazing! We got the mango habanero wings which were spicy but flavorful and the sweet potato and Cajun fries which were both very good, and the Cajun fries had a nice kick! Upon entering, there were about 6 other individuals waiting for their orders. No one greeted me or even looked my way until I spoke up. My girlfriend and I went here today for the first time. She got the eggplant and mozzarella panini and I got a 8"classic Italian hero. The panini was good. It was on a good quality bread and was very flavorful. It's not by any means big but it was quality. I think I took a gamble on getting a hero from a panini place but they tricked me into it with the beautiful Italian bread for Sale visible. That was my first mistake. That is not the bread they used for my sandwich. Instead I got the typical less than desirable Jersey hero bread. As for the sandwich, it was a ham and cheese sandwich. I didn't see any capicola and maybe two pieces of salami. Probably the worst Italian hero I ever got. I was expecting the owner to ask how my meal was when I was paying but obviously he didn't care. Last night my wife picked up a good sandwiches from the Matawan store. A Bistro pastrami $10 and a steak with goat cheese and onions $11 with a side of Bistro sauce. But issues it was crazy in the store bunch of customers fight how was picking on, orders not ready who is ordering next, They need a better system . They should hang a sign order here and another sign pick up here. As for the sandwiches both were Just good , Just a bit lite on the meat and goat cheese.. To charge a premium price $11 and $10 you should add more. and make sure of that as a new store you want customer to be impressed and feel that they got there monies worth. It fell short, also never got the extra sauce. Also their menu and they don't let any one know your being charged almost 4% for the credit card use, that felt dishonest, and secretive. They need to post that. Some store charge for credit, some put in the price of the food. But to charge a premium price and charge for credit and be cheep on the fillings , not cool. Like I said just a good sandwich. They need to do better. read more

This place has great sandwiches - the bread is good, they give a decent amount of meat. However, if you get a sandwich, you need to have it on their semolina - it is so good. Their fresh mozzarella is tasty too (especially in their mozzarella sticks) - they also have very good fries. read more

Listen, I get that mistakes happen and no one is perfect, but...Ordered online and picked up. Was impressed how easy the online site was to use and how quickly I was texted when the order was ready. Walked in and found some bags waiting on the counter, found the bag with my name and took it. I let them kid at the counter know I was taking it and he nodded to me but said nothing. I got all the way home to find that the Cobb Salad I ordered with the EXTRA grilled chicken had ZERO chicken in it. Again, mistakes happen so I was annoyed but took the order back to get it corrected. Walked in and told the same kid at the counter that I ordered extra grilled chicken and got none at all. I showed him my receipt so he could see I was telling the truth. Being that he is a teenager, I didnt really expect him to say much to me but what shocked me was to see the owner standing right next to him, watching and hearing exactly what I said, and not saying so much as an " sorry about that, or give us a few minutes and we will make it right, or here is a free dessert for your trouble", I mean say SOMETHING!. the kid took my salad, went to the back, tossed some cold grilled chicken into a tin and brought it back to me. The owner did tell him to put it in a bag, which he then did. The kid handed the bag to me, looked at me and didnt say one word. I even looked up at the owner;s face again as I was sure he would smile, or say something to me but again, nothing! Again, I get mistakes happen but there is such a thing as customer service and when you make a mistake with a customer, you at the very least, apologize for the error.
