I've been going to a chiropractor before but 2020 was a blur and I moved to town and needed to find a new chiropractor around the area that will work with my schedule. I saw their ad in fb (heavy on my page) so I decided to call them. At first, the lady told me to call my insurance first to make sure its covered so I lost interest right there. Then after a week, I received a text and I told them that I have no time to call my insurance to check and the lady who texted me did it for me by just taking a picture of my insurance card. I have HMSA PPO with $100 deductible. After I reached my deductible (3 visits of paying $60 atfirst) it went down to about $13 per visit. I'm allowed 8 visits (but can be up to 12). Anyway, once it was all figured out, I chose this location, they have a lot of free parking, easy to locate, shared business building. The office is great with decor, and aesthetic is really appealing and modern. I met Dr. Lily and she was amazing. I love how she is engaged and full of energy even if I'm her first patient in the morning. She does TENS first on my muscles, the hypervolt machine, then the adjustments. It's perfect since I go to her clinic after my work-out. I only have about 4 treatments with her but I felt like my back has improved and I became more aware of my posture and proper form when I'm working out. Dr Jessica at the Kaimuki office is the best! She gives the firm and effective adjustments that I've been needing for a number of years. My previous chiropractor at another practice was great, but moved to the mainland, after 6 months. Prior to that, I left a long time chiropractor who's adjustments were getting weaker and less effective. The ladies at the counter are wonderful, and their billing/scheduling/reminder app is secure and reliable! I have been seeing chiropractors for more than 30 years, I know what I need, and I am CLEAR when calling a new chiro to see if I can get what is needed to adjust me. My current chiro is injured, so I went seeking treatment elsewhere and called here. I specifically asked if they do stim and heat treatment and was told yes. Not maybe... not let me check with your insurance...I was told yes. I arrived for my appointment (it was for 10:15),15 minutes early as they requested and sat there. Finally, at about 10:30, I was taken in and asked a bunch of questions...I declined the video. When the chiro, Jessica (?) walked in, they did not greet me smiling. They greeted me as if they hate their job. It was explained to me that I would be examined, to see if I could be adjusted, then they would adjust me. I asked about heat and stim and was told, "your insurance doesn't cover it." Who cares? I will pay out of pocket, just tell me how much, but no. The chiro, who saw me getting agitated, did not say, "hey, it will cost this much" or "let's see what we can do." ZERO bedside manner. And I told them so. If I see ANY charge on my health insurance for this visit, I will dispute it to no end. Such a disappointment. read more

I've always thought going to a chiropractor was scary because the thought of cracking your neck and back just seems painful! Dr. Jessica is who I have been seeing and she is fantastic! From the start, they ask you to answer a bunch of questions about your level of pain and how it affects your daily life. After your assessment, your doctor will put you on a plan. Mine was a visit once a week for 6 weeks, and now I am visiting once a month for the next 12 months. Each time I go, Dr. Jessica always gives me helpful tips in how I can work on better posture or ways I can decrease pain in my upper shoulder and neck area since I stand for work all day. She has a knack for feeling out your back and telling you exactly where all the tension is. Overall, I truly think everyone should consider visiting a chiropractor once you hit your 30's! I've been suffering from back pain that my doc said is due to "getting old." I searched desperately on Yelp for a chiropractor. At first I saw that Turning Point had multiple locations on Oahu and when I was able to get an appointment quickly, I figured they might not be good. Other chiropractic places were either not accepting new patients or were hard to reach. I was wrong. I've been to the Kaimuki location for 5 adjustments. From the first appointment Dr. Joe has been friendly, professional and caring. He takes the time to explain how chiropractic adjustments work. After my first adjustment he called later that day to see how I was doing. He's been great about giving me recommendations to ease my pain. Even though I've only been going for a few weeks, my pain level has gone down and I've been able to stop taking prescription pain medication. The location is super convenient and there's always parking. Just go up the stairs to the second floor and it's the first door. I don't often write reviews but my experience here left a bad taste in my mouth. My regular chiropractor moved, so I had to find a new one. I saw an ad for this place so I thought I'd try it. When I called to make an appointment I was told it was a two week wait for an initial consult. Long, but I thought ok, still worth trying. The day arrives and I'm getting ready to leave when I get a call saying I missed my appointment! They had me scheduled an hour earlier than what I distinctly remember making. I know this because not only did I write it down right away, but I also have a longstanding appointment at the time they had me down to come in. I would never have made the appointment for that time. Frustrating, but ok. I ask when I can reschedule and they say it won't be for another two weeks! No consideration for the mixup. I just have to get back in line. A month to make a chiropractic appointment, without any consideration for these circumstances is not the way to build a clientele. This isn't a one star review because the person I spoke to was polite and, who knows, maybe this chiropractor is the best on the island. Just be prepared to wait a long time to see them. read more

The office is clean and well-cared for. Turning Point cared about my treatment and required completing surveys in regard to my pain to assist with their chiropractic plans. Doctor Jessica did a great job working on specific areas of my body and asking me for feedback on areas that still needed improvement. I was looking for a chiropractor with flexible hours and this place seemed to fit the bill and there were lots of positive reviews. This is my own, honest personal experience. I've had chiropractic treatment in the past, so it's not the first time. The front office staff and Dr. Austin are nice and friendly. It's easy to find parking at this location. I was a little worried when I walked through the door and saw that you can get a Starbucks gift card for your Yelp review. It made me think about the reviews that I had read. I was going in for numbness and tingling in my right arm. I had just received a massage the day before and woke up to no tingling and numbness, but I already had this appt. scheduled and figured getting treated would be helpful. I watched a video about chiropractic treatment in the office, then explained what was wrong with me. Dr. Austin treated me. He mentioned that my elbow is off and needs to be straightened. I had never heard that before. I also mentioned I had another massage scheduled for the next day. After my second massage, I felt a lot better. My arms didn't go numb at night or during the day. Then I went for the suggested chiropractic treatments which consisted of three times a week! I decided to try because he said I wouldnt' be "cured" that quickly. The thing is, after each treatment, my numbness and tingling got worse. I told him and he would do a treatment that lasted less than five minutes. I had started with some numbness and tingling and it escalated into numbness and tingling all the time! I had to go on a trip so I stopped treatment. I went to my regular doctor and mentioned massage and chiropractor. She seemed concerned that I was going so often. She suggested I wear a wrist brace while I slept and continue massage therapy maybe once a month. Well, the wrist brace totally worked! In two days, I had no numbness or tingling while I slept and throughout the day. I canceled the rest of my appointments at Turning Point afterward. This was just my experience, but when it seems like they need to convince you that you need over 20 treatments in the course of two months... I should have just followed my gut instinct when I saw the offer of a gift card for yelp reviews. The two other chiropractors that I had seen in the past would tell me up front how many treatments they estimated it would take and it usually didn't go past six. Again, this was just my experience, if this place works for others, then good for them. read more

The Dr's were nice but it seems like they rotate a lot so I had to explain things over. Also, I want to make other patients aware that the roller table to loosen your muscles before the adjustment is not included in your visit or insurance or co-pay. They didn't mention it, then back bill me! Then when I asked why wasn't I told this they seemed a little attitudinal- Total turn off. Everyone that I have been to since have included it or some other way to relax the back. I feel it an essential part of an adjustment.
