I dislocated my shoulder and Dr. Coleman really helped me get my shoulder back to normal. He also massages and that really helped me. I had hurt my right shoulder but with his treatment, my left shoulder which had been painful for years became better. He does more than my previous chiropractor and has helped me a lot more. Some people are scared to have a chiropractor work on them because they think it hurts and they don't like to hear the crack but after he works on you, you feel so much better. I started going to Dr Anapuni because I was experiencing some really bad pain, headaches, TMJ, neck and back pain. I'd been going to my regular dr for over 6 months trying different treatments nothing was helping. I was at the point i would try anything, if it helped. Even though I was concerned a chiropractor might break my neck and make everything worse. My friend recommended Dr Anapuni, i called the office and luckily they had an opening for next day. At my 1st appointment i was nervous, when i walked in Taysia the office manager was so welcoming!!Checked in then time for the scary neck break. I was referred to Dr ANAPUNI as I call him by my PCP. Don't let his size fool you! He was an athlete in high school and has great strength when adjusting you but will not harm you. Appointments are 15 mins short and after you walk out, your body feels like new! I started seeing him because I was having tightness/pains in my lower back and couldn't walk some days. After seeing Dr ANAPUNI regularly every month, I'm able to control the stiffness in my back, some with age (getting old sucks) and some is just from what I did at my job. Everyone should go see a chiropractor! It feels great to get your back adjusted! I didn't need to see Dr. Coleman because of a sports injury or accident. I graduated from UHM in 2015 and have been working a full time office job for 2 years and I notice it's taking a toll on my posture and lower back. I watched all the YouTube videos of crazy back adjustments online and I was intrigued and wanted to try it out myself! I did a ton of research before finding Dr. Coleman. I gave his office a call and was scheduled for an appointment. The adjustments are not super crazy like the videos and very, very minor (for me anyways). Immediately after the adjustment, my body felt weightless. He gave me instructions to drink lots of water, place a heating pad on my back, and to rest. He mentioned that the first day after the adjustment can be uncomfortable because your body is getting used to the realignment, but it wasn't too bad for me. My back just kept reminding me to sit up straight every so often. He also gave me pointers on how to adjust my desk to reduce back pain. I have a follow up in a couple of weeks. Easy to find, plenty of parking. It was busy in the office yet I did not feel rushed. I did not wait long either. This man runs a smooth ship. Dr. Coleman took the time to assess my issues and was able to correct them easily and without me tightening up. I'm a big chicken when somebody wants to crack my neck. Dr. Coleman was very gentle and effective. He seems kind, honest and very knowledgeable. He's not your average Chiropractor. He won't do those weird fake tests that are suppose to show you how you are weak before alignment and then stronger after. The proof is in the pudding. Everyone these days is now talking about fascia and Dr. Coleman started with fascia release. Very impressive. I really noticed a huge difference when I got into my car and turned my neck around to back up. Wow! My range of motion came back 100%! I was freeeeee!! It's incredible how we will learn to live with pain. Once I started driving I noticed that I was sitting straight in my seat. For months I was sitting crooked. Normally I like to sit weird, with one leg up or something so didn't really think anything of it. I'm just normally a quirky girl. Nope! Initially, it was difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Coleman for neck pain and in the meantime I went to another chiropractor. What a mistake! The other chiropractor had me scheduled 2 times a week. He kept cracking my neck, used a percussion massager and practiced cupping on my upper shoulders. All that made my neck pain far worse. When my appointment date finally arrived, I was surprised at how simple it was to relieve neck pain with one visit. I now visit the office about once a month and am happy that I am virtually pain free without having my neck incessantly cracked or having other useless things done to my neck. I went to visit this back cracker after I had pulled a back muscle about 1 week before I was supposed to hike the Kalalau trail in Kauai's Na Pali coast. 14 miles strenuous hike. DOH!!! With my impossible to get, reschedule or refund permits secured, flights booked and bags packed, I was desperate for a quick fix. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment the same day (scheduling was a breeze) and from the free and ample parking lot downstairs I hobbled up to see him. Dr. Coleman is really nice, down to earth and easy to talk to. He did a back twist that popped my hip back into place and provided me some immediate but temporary relief. He showed me a few stretches and about 15 minutes later I was out of there, $75 poorer. Luckily the Yelp offer helped soften the blow! But I felt like it's a lot to spend for a quick and temporary fix. But I was desperate. He advised me to come back 2 days later for another back pop. By the second visit, I was back to being sore and desperate again. The back crack helped a bit but not as much as the first one. And another $50 was paid. I give points for nice guy, friendly staff, easy to schedule, and free parking. But it didn't really help me in my situation. Probably nothing beyond sweet baby Jeezus would have cured me. I do notice that when I side stretch now, my hip does an extra big pop back into place but I am able to do it for myself. I don't know if somehow my therapy here loosened up that socket or just gave me the confidence to crack my back that hard. Overall I'm not entirely convinced in the healing power of Chiroractor's in general, but Dr. Coleman is one of the better ones if you believe in that kind of therapy. I felt like my acupuncture session with Dr. Au on King street provided better longer lasting relief, but it could have been due to the type of injury I had (muscle spasm). read more

This review is long overdue. First of all, I have always put off seeing someone for my back. It was never really a "priority" for me. But this past school year, my back was seriously killing me. I spend a lot of time hunched over a desk studying and sitting in chairs which is terrible I know :/ Thus, I vowed to see a chiropractor when I returned home. What harm could it do right? If it helps great. If not then oh well. I am so glad that I took initiative to see Dr. Coleman. Not only does my back feel 10x better but also he gives great tips for management of proper spinal alignment, etc. He really listens to you as a patient and your problems. Since I can't really see him regularly, he gave me some tips such as getting a backknobber and taking up yoga/pilates. I think the biggest aspect about his approach is that (as others have mentioned) he gets the knots out of your back, and where there are any areas of pain, he will apply pressure to relieve it. Best feeling in the world walking out of his office with all those knots gone. Another thing I like is that, he doesn't use x-ray machines to assess your alignment. He does everything using his judgement and feeling your back to determine what areas of your back are out of place. Old School sometimes is the best school. I'm all about being as minimalist as possible (aka I'm that annoying person that asks for the pat-down in the TSA line at the airport). Who wants unneeded exposure to radiation that can kill healthy body cells? Not me! I've seen him around 5 times now and my back feels better than ever due to Dr. Coleman. I wish there was someone on the mainland that I could trust as much as I trust Dr. Coleman. His prices are so so so reasonable and he doesn't pressure you to make appointments at all. We were recommended to Dr. Coleman by a family friend. I've never been a fan of chiropractic treatment, but we needed to find migraine relief for our 16-year old athlete. (3 head injuries will do that to an athlete). Dr. Coleman explained to us what he felt was the cause of her headaches and how he was going to help her with spinal adjustments. He also explained that his own kids are athletes and have had similar injuries - they have him treat them, as well! **UPDATE** I figured a year's worth of time is worth an update. I had monthly appointments with Dr. Coleman for standard adjustments and maintenance. I missed an appointment and somehow that turned into missing a month or 2. Over that time, I started to develop a sharp pain in my neck on one side, which would take about a week to go away. Then it would show up on the other side. I thought I had a pinched nerve or something. Called the office to make an appointment as the pain was pretty sharp and limited my range of motion. From the first visit back, Dr. Coleman did all of the usual back adjustments which were great. When he got to my neck he immediately noticed a fairly large build up of interior scar tissue in the area which was causing the pain. He spent the next 5 minutes breaking that down manually which I will admit was pretty painful. After that 5 minutes though, the pain from turning my head was less and my range of motion was better. He said to work on that area similar to what he did and to come back in a week. Came back after one week, same thing. 5 mins of pain, followed by an immediate increase in range of motion and pain reduction. He said to continue working on the area he worked on and I decided to make my next appointment in 2 weeks. Yesterday was my 2 week appointment. My range of motion is practically uninhibited and there is zero sharp pain. This beats taking painkillers all day every day to mask the pain when ultimately the underlying cause will never go away. Once again, feeling back to 100% thanks to Dr. Coleman. ORIGINAL REVIEW I've been going to Dr. Coleman for about 2 months now and I figure it is finally time for the review. A few months ago, I started lifting after a long break but tried to go too fast too soon. Tried a power clean but rushed the 2nd pull and immediately felt a pop in the lower back. The next month was pretty brutal. I couldn't put my shoes on without sharp pain. Nothing seemed to help - NSAID's, ice, heat, nothing. Attempted to make an appointment with another Dr. but the wait was about a month. Went with my gut (after reading these stellar yelp reviews) and called Dr. Coleman's office. I had an appointment scheduled within a week. Never went to a chiropractor to get adjusted before so i didn't know what to expect. Dr. Coleman explained what he was going to do and why he was doing what he was doing. He applied pressure all along my back and worked out all the knots. Then he adjusted my neck and fixed my neck pain from sleeping in a crappy bed/pillow combo. Then he worked out the ab muscles which I completely neglected. He explained that a healthy and strong core is essential to a health spine/body. Then he adjusted my lower back. Absolutely zero pain (apart from the knots, which is a "good" pain) during the process and best news was the lower back pain was cut in half immediately. After the adjustment Dr. Coleman gave me some tips about sleeping positions, types of pillows to use to avoid stiff neck, and told me to schedule an appointment based on how my body felt. He also recommended yoga/pilates which I'm seriously considering. Today was my 4th visit to Dr. Coleman's office and every time I leave, I feel better. Hard to explain how, but I just do. No issues with my back apart from my unhealthy desk job which really wreaks havoc on my back. I go every month now just to keep everything in check since it is so convenient and quick. Big guys need apply. I've seen Dr. Coleman for 5 sessions now and I'm definitely feeling the benefits. I travel every month for work which means my sleeping accommodations are usually subpar and 5 hours flying coach doesn't help either. I'm a big guy, ex linebacker player and I've been through a fair share of injuries. Dr. Coleman is very knowledgeable and he seems to have a sports background. I've seen chiropractors before and few of them were actually physically able to properly adjust me because of my size. Dr. Coleman has got the size and strength to get my stuff cracked! I started seeing Dr. C because my insurance covered a certain amount of chiropractic visits. But his out of pocket costs are very reasonable. I would spend more on an hour massage but honestly his sessions are more beneficial. I usually experience tightness and spasms in my lumbar area and since I've been coming here my pain hasn't returned. Dr. C is very easy to deal with and communication is top notch. DR. COLEMAN IS AWESOME! In a rather short amount of time he fixed my hip rotation and now regularly "unlocks"/"frees up" the stiffness in my lower back . I have been to visit him 15+ times and am planning to keep going regularly. I originally came to him with most of the vertebrae in my lower back "locked up" and the first visit I have never heard so many crack at the same time. It was actually my first visit to a chiropractor in 10 years. I had thought I needed this before but ... wow! As a person who regularly sits for long periods of time at the computer I have found my lower back tends to stiffen up and while I can do a fair amount to keep it in line I am not able to keep the lower vertebrae and surrounding muscles from "locking" up and so I have been glad to work with him to fix this. This is how he works on my back: He starts out with some muscle work / deep tissue massage to release the knots running up and down my spine as well as shoulders and hips. He then "cracks" everything in my upper, mid, and lower back as well as "pops" those hips back in place. Then my neck and shoulders. I would also note I had a problem in my thumb joint which he knew what to do with. (oh the occupational hazards of my blackberry j/k). I found fees to be very reasonable. Also, he accepts flex plan (the tax deferred program for medical expenses I have through work), so I'm glad to be able to use that there are some savings in that. Dr. Coleman is amazing! I was in Hawaii on holiday from Japan and woke up with the worst neck cramp ever. You know the kind where you can't move your neck past a certain point and you end up turning your whole body to look in a certain direction. Didn't want it to spoil my holiday so stopped by Dr. Coleman's and immediately after the adjustment I felt 50% better, the day after I got 80% of my mobility back, and back up to 100% two days later just as he said! DA BESTEST! You know when Batman turns to talk to you, he moves his whole body? Yeah, that was me. Just like Batman. Bottom-line: Dr. Coleman realigned my stiff neck in one session, relieving me of weeks of discomfort. He also found all these other things wrong with me, like out of place ribs and an unaligned hip. I'm not sure if I wanted my hip fixed though, it got rid of my gangster limp and now I've lost all my street cred. Not cool. I'll be returning regularly, as should you. What can I say I went to see him with a slightly dislocated shoulder and he put it back into place. I was prepped, heated, massaged and realigned right around in an hour. I need someone that can really get into the pains that I had and do have with in my back and shoulders. He Can Do a deep tissue massage. Most of the other massage therapists say they can, but most of the time i have to keep asking to press harder on the pressure points that hurt the most and normally they can only hold pressure that I like for around 5seconds. Doctor Coleman can maintain this pressure, if needed, for longer and consistantly on the area of importance. Doctor Coleman can also be very delicate on the injured areas in order to heal them and get things rolling. Excellent and Thank You Dr. Coleman.
