I wanted to share an update to my previous review based on how my experience progressed over time. Unfortunately, the quality of care declined significantly. Appointments were often delayed or running behind, which I can understand to some extent. However, what became more concerning was the change in the sessions themselves. What were once 20-40 minute, attentive treatments shortened to around 10-15 minutes. On multiple occasions, the doctor answered phone calls on his mobile phone during my appointment, and talked during my treatments with the phone in one hand. In one instance, he remained on the phone for nearly the entire session, speaking with what sounded like a repair service, while performing my adjustment distracted and with only one hand. That experience was ultimately a turning point for me. Despite this, I continued going for some time because I was in significant pain and had not found another provider. However, the treatments no longer provided the relief I had previously experienced, while remaining expensive. During one visit, I expressed that I was leaving still in pain, and instead of adjusting further as had been done in the past, I was simply told to schedule another appointment. After eventually seeking care elsewhere, I learned through my insurance company that I had been overcharged consistently. The interaction I had over the phone with the provider felt confrontational and threatening. Although a refund was ultimately issued, I do not feel at ease returning to the office. I'm disappointed that my experience ended this way, especially since my earlier visits had been so positive. I hesitated to update my review, but I feel it's important to share in case it helps others make informed decisions about their care. read more

A good friend referred me to Dr. Jesse a couple years ago. I had been having chronic neck pain and stiffness off and on for years and been managing it with PT and seeing another chiropractor. Not only did Dr. Jesse find the root cause of my neck pain and fix it in two visits, but he has continued to take great care of me and my husband through the typical wear and tear of life, multiple injuries, and now my first pregnancy. I don't think my pregnancy would have been half as comfortable or would I have been able to stay half as active and mobile as I did without his care! Bonus that you get to see Koa the office dog at every visit! read more

Diamond Head Chiropractic - Koa the Dog - Chiropractors Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

5-6 years ago I was recommended by multiple friends, some who live overseas and when they come home or visit Hawaii they go to see Jessie every time they are in Hawaii or visiting. Trust me, this guy does some miracles and prevented some of us from surgical procedures. read more

Dr. Jesse has helped me so much with my adjustments and active release technique. Also his dog Koa is the best!

I had the misfortune of having Jesse work in me. I hate that he ordered all these x-rays and probably did not even know what he was ordering. I ended up having to get exposed by lots of radiation because of his mistake or ignorance. Also he was always late to the appointments. His "treatment " were excruciating and unnecessary. The good news is I never have to go here again. I found someone better. Do not waste your time with this fool. read more

I'm a contractor, and I surf and golf for exercise. Dr. Jesse has helped me with everything from dislocated ribs, sacroiliac pain, locked up wrist and ankle joints, and stiff neck. I have actually been seeing him for many years now, so this review is a long time in coming. Dr. Jesse really knows his profession, understands the human body and its muscles/ligaments, and is very skillful. His A.R.T. method is quite exceptional, basically he works the muscles that are causing the pain and keeping your body from healing. He run specials from time to time allowing you to buy a block of six appointments at a cheaper rate. His office is located in Kaimuki, on the second floor of an office building on Harding. He's got two parking stalls located in the lot. You turn in off of Harding at the sign that says "no public parking", and then you'll see two spots that are designated for Diamond Head Chiropractic patients. Tldr; if you're looking for a chiropractor with skills, doctor Jessie will help you. He really is that amazing! read more

For a week now, so jarred my lower back, I still walk In pain. I went in for tight neck muscles and I told him I was getting a fusion operation on L3, but that didn't stop him from twisting that part of my body vigorously. I could not even get out of bed for a day afterwards. read more

Last October (2011), I was hit by a car in a crosswalk as a pedestrian... (Yeah, ouch.) Dr. Jesse, Dr. Erik and everyone else at DHC (Diamond Head Chiropractic, not Dance Hall Crashers..) have all really helped me recover from this "accident." The staff at Diamond Head Chiropractic is unlike anywhere else; it's a family-friendly business where they treat you like family and friends! I feel so comfortable and at ease going to my appointments bc I know I'm in the hands of professionals who aren't intimidating or condescending. Also, it's more than just a Chiropractic clinic; Diamond Head Chiropractic is a wellness center. I've learned a lot from both Dr. Jesse and Dr. Erik and would recommend their expertise and help to any and everyone. It's nice to actually experience the difference of chiropractic care done right. I feel rejuvenated and a lot less in pain after each session. And most importantly, I feel like I'm progressing! And yes, Dr. Jesse has been known for running a little late... But this is Hawaii. We run on "Hawaiian time." Lol. But on a more serious note, his knowledge and skill are worth the wait. (I'd recommend calling in to find out how far behind he's running, so you're not just waiting in their office..) Dr. Erik runs more on schedule for you timely folk who plan things out. He also has a wealth of information that he is willing and able to share. Either way, both are great. They've both shared with me at least a handful of exercises that I could do at home, to help me progress even further with my recovery. Highly recommended. 31 Yelps Review Challenge - #01/31 read more

Possibly the best chiropractor in hawaii, maybe even the planet. Dr. Jesse and Hannah literally saved my vacation and i will be forever grateful! I've been dealing with back and neck issues from scoliosis, disc herniation and even a fractured vertebrae from a snowboarding accident. I've seen more than 20 chiros over the past 10 years and Dr. Jesse is the best. He's got a natural gift in the way he adjusts with his hands, and he even takes the time to be incredibly thorough! Usually chiros give you a 10 minute adjustment and pass you on to ice or electro therapy. But Dr. Jesse spent almost an hour relieving all the twists and sublaxations that had me in a lot of discomfort. I can't say enough great things about this place, i just wish i lived in hawaii so I could see him once a month! read more

Best active release therapy I've ever had. Had a slap tear in shoulder and with first session I had full movement back in my shoulder. His adjustment were very precise and smooth. Best on the island for sure read more

Five stars for the actual treatment I received, but one star off for lack of punctuality. TREATMENT - Awesome, amazing and effective! Much more thorough than "normal" chiropractic. Dr. Jesse uses ART and other body work techniques to work on the muscles, scar tissue and joints. Then, he gives chiropractic adjustments that rock! PUNCTUALITY - Ok, I admit, I'm not the most punctual person (typically at least 10 minutes late to most things), but Jesse was SO busy and behind with his schedule (there were about 4 people waiting to see him AND the 2 that he was concurrently treating when I was waiting) that I didn't get treated until an hour after my scheduled time. However, once he got his hands on me and began to do the amazing body work, I forgot all about time. The treatment was truly amazing! I will go back, but I will make sure to call the office before my appointment to check on how the appointments are flowing and if he is running behind. I can only play Words with Friends in the waiting room for so long. read more

Oh my Gosh! Thank you so much Dr. Jesse. My injuries from weight lifting were so painful in my shoulders, hips and IT Bands down my leg that just to get in the car and reach to close the door to go to my appointment was exhausting. When I came out from my session, I got in the car, shut the door and realized the pain in all those areas were insignificant! My session was on a Thursday and today is Sunday and the pain significantly less. My sincerest appreciation, Lois read more

So far so good! I have seen many experts in the field and had the fortune to be treated by a group who treat the Dallas Cowboys and these guys know their stuff, are in tuned with the body and can go strait to the root of your body mechanic problems. Time is not a priority but your health and comfort is so if its your first time keep your day open. My visit was about 2.5 hours but i was prepared to wait and Dr. Jesse asked me if I was on a tight schedule as not to interfere with my schedule. I am a very timely and punctual person and would have been livid had I not know what to expect. Update: Yikes, I scheduled the first appointment of the day to be sure Dr. Jesse was not distracted with a waiting room full of clients. He was 20 minutes late so I was waiting outside the office, he arrived and gave his keys to the office staff and after another 30 minutes of waiting I was on fire mad! How someone can be so disrespectful is beyond me! They charge a late fee if you are not on time, Ill be sure to bill you for my hour of wasted time! read more

Dr. Jesse saved my career and I'm proved my overall physical health! Long story short...I injured my back during training for a new career as a first responder. I was on the verge of quitting due to the pain and shocking sensation I would get when walking around. Someone recommended that I see Dr. Jesse, they had had amazing results being treated by him. The doctor I saw just gave me pills and suggested surgery, options that weren't viable for my current situation. Went to see Dr. Jesse with hopes of making my situation just a little better, so I could complete my training. By the time I left, not only did I ditch my back brace. I was able to walk out of the office PAIN FREE, it allowed me to complete my training! Dr. Jesse is a life/career saver! I suggest everyone I know to see him. How much do you value being pain free??? I challenge skeptics to give him a try, but only if you value your health over cost. Btw, he was also able to reverse or relieve pain from previous athletic injuries. I can't thank him enough! Thank you Dr. Jesse!!! read more

Dr.Jesse & staff at Diamond Head Chiropractic are top notch. A pain in my knee during workouts led me to make my first chiropractic appointment. I didn't know what to expect but felt nervous. The thought of an almost-stranger cracking my neck and back and poking around at my spine made me feel a little uneasy, but Dr. Jesse came highly recommended so I let it go. It's a good thing I did. I started relaxing the moment I stepped in the office. The receptionist greeted me by name and very kindly asked me to fill out the obligatory first-time-patient paperwork. The office (and bathroom) were very clean and nicely decorated. The meet n' greet with Dr. Jesse was easy-going and informational. It's awesome working with professionals that are 100% ON THEIR GAME! He looked at the way I walked, my posture, the way I tippie-toed, etc. and could guess my spine condition. Everyone should get checked and adjusted. Even if you feel fine, preventative procedures are the way to go. I feel rejuvenated, like I can breath deeper and fuller. I'm going to sleep sooo well tonight. :D read more

I had never gone to a chiropractor until my sports injuries and years of weightlifting had finally accumulated so much that I tried Diamond Head Chiropractic in mid 40's from a word of mouth referral. In fact, I had felt so good from their treatment that I went 4 years without having to go back. Recently and now in my 50's, however, I had felt some severe back stiffness. As usual, Dr. Jesse used his expertise and professionalism to get me back in alignment. I had actually gone from Christmas until January 10 in constant pain. Dr. Jesse resolved it. It is not only his experience, but his humor during the intense treatment that gets me through it. Dr. Jesse Cracknell is great. read more

Being my first treatment and session with a chiropractor, I was very happy with the service provided. I was taught how realignment works and how it could benefit me. I admit, my posture is bad and I slouch a lot. Dr. Jesse helped me to realize how I could re-train my body to have relatively better posture. On my second visit, I got some work done by Dr. Eric. Again, I was taught what the treatment would consist of and what it will do for my body. Great people to work with to help me better my body. I'm excited to improve! read more

Yes, it is painful, but very worth it. Exactly what I didn't know I needed. Most Chiropractors just give you a few cracks and you are done. Here they find the underlying problem, make you bend in weird ways, and feels all kinds of pain, but the a major problem will go away. If you go somewhere else where they just crack it, it never addresses the reason why the pain keeps coming back. I had a few problems with range of motion and they are already starting to resolve after one visit. read more

Dr Jesse is an amazing chiropractic doctor. He is ART certified and specializes in working with athletes, but don't let that fool you, I would not think twice about sending my grandmother to him. He is professional, funny, listens and always achieves results. I see him on a regular basis due to the many hours I spend at my desk behind a computer. His treatments keep my body aligned and my neck and shoulders pain free. If you're looking for a great chiropractor who can make a difference with just one visit, I highly recommend Dr Jesse. read more

I came into DHC without any real issues & more or less the intention to loosen up my lower back.. my tune-up with Dr. Jesse left me feeling 200% better than before! Absolutely amazing. He was able to find knots & problem areas in my body I wasn't even initially aware of. I sat up from the table with zero pain in my lower back & have been moving through my days following the appt with such ease! I also brought my boyfriend in with me for his first chiropractic visit ever- Dr. Jesse quickly made him feel right at home & was more than patient with answering questions & explaining everything he was doing. He had these crazy back pains & it disappeared INSTANTLY. He has been so stoked with his results, he even told me he used to have this bone he could feel sticking out his back when he bent over & it isn't there at all now. Long story short- Doc totally aligned the sh* out of us, we love it, the sweetest lady working reception was mad welcoming, our spines are 3 inches longer, and we'll be back regularly now. 100 stars! Treat yourself, we recommend it. read more

I have been going to Jesse Cracknell for over 7 years and I can not say enough good things about him! I've been to several chiropractors on the mainland prior to moving here and I thought they were good until I met Jesse. I do have a problem of waiting until I'm in so much pain or can barely walk to go see Jesse so I'm always a wreck when I go in. Jesse does ART, active release technique before your adjustment which I've never had before. I don't know that anyone in pain likes to go to any doctor, but at least going to Jesse I know he can fix me. Jesse is extremely personable and I accommodating. Now I would not trust another chiropractor to adjust me, especially my neck. I highly recommend Jesse to everyone - you won't be disappointed . read more

I've been coming here for several years and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of chiropractic or muscle work. Dr. Jesse always does excellent job. I injured my shoulder years ago and had never taken care of it before I came to Diamond Head Chiropractic. Thanks to Dr. Jesse I've had significant relief and no longer have any lingering pain. I have a high standard for chiropractic care because my father is one and I couldn't recommend this Diamond Head Chiropractic any higher. read more

Long story short Dr. Jesse and Dr. Eric saved my running career. A went in a couple of months before the Honolulu Marathon because I hurt my back. Turned out I had many things wrong with my body. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be in top form in time for the marathon. Well, two months and even a month after the race, I am back to normal! I even finished the race in my goal time. Active Release Technique (ART) hurts like hell, but it is hands down the most effective form of chiropractic care for athletes. Staff is great and personable, office hours are convenient (open till 7p.m.), and a huge plus is one Saturday a month, they offer services via walk-ins for as low as $15, but you pay as much as you like based on an honor code, and a portion of the proceeds from the day go to charity. Quality care, quality peeps. read more

Dr. Erik Shimane has taken over the practice. Compared to older reviews, Dr. Erik seems to be much more punctual. If he is running behind it has been less than 15 minutes, and honestly, I've had appointments start early if anything. Also if you are to complain about time when it comes to someone holistically and physically treating you, stay home with your pain and see how well that works for you. An investment in health is always a worthy investment. Anyway, Dr. Erik is thorough. He will look for dysfunction and treat that first and foremost as treating a body with dysfunction is usually a losing battle. His next step is to treat any pain (aka a symptom) areas. Depending on each case, he may look into your eating habits and take measurements to see if your body is lacking of any nutrients whether macro or micro. As a 27-year-old active Track sprinter, for me to be at my best, working with Dr. Erik is the way to go. As a fitness professional myself, he is extremely knowledgeable and has already been influential in things that I do as an athlete. Give a few visits to see if he is the right person for you. read more

Dr Jesse is cool. I was in a car crash and he helped fix my neck and back. Great job!

DONOT GO HERE! If you want to have unbearable pain in areas that were perfectly fine before, then go. I had a little arm problem and decided to try out chiropractic for the first time. I heard some pretty good reviews about him on yelp and decided to give it a shot. My first visit was so painful i almost cried. He said that i would need to come at least 4-5 times to treat the pain in my arm. For my half an hour session, he spent the first 20 mins cracking me in areas that i didn't have any pain in and kept trying to align my back. After the fourth visit, there was so much pain in my neck and shoulder area, i had to take off school and work for a week. I still went to the chiropractor since he said the pain was part of the treatment process. After the seventh visit, my pain was so unbearable and uncomfortable that I had to go to the emergency room. There the doctor said that my shoulder and neck area were really swollen and recommended me to see a Physical therapist. I completed two treatments with the PT, tried acupuncture, massage therapist and the pain is still there. I had to change my job since I couldn't lift any heavy object now and am still going to the PT. My life has become a living hell!! I get depressed each time I think about it. Please do not go here for anything!! read more

Very personable and got right to fixing my back. I'd recommend him highly, esp when he starts accepting insurance again

I am professional athlete and Dr. Jesse has gone out of his way numerous times to make sure I am at peak performance level. This is a game changer. That being said, if you have a low pain tolerance or a are super sensitive, this probably isn't the spot for you. Dr. Jesse will not just tell you what you want to hear, and it may or may not hurt like heck...but you will be better for it. This is recovery, healing and more than an adjustment. read more

I went to Dr Jesse's from 2006-2010. Early on his adjustment sessions lasted 20-30 minutes and I saw noticeable improvement. Eventually, I ended up having to wait 1 hour or more for sessions because he was so backed up. The tipping point was when my sessions only last 10 minutes and I all that waiting was for a minor adjustment that was not personable. I felt like I was getting whisked out of the adjustment room and extremely rushed. Sorry Dr Jesse but I cannot recommend you. read more

If you have a sport related injury, I would highly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Jesse at Diamond Head Chiropractic. Dr. Jesse is very knowledge and experienced in working with athletes from professionals to regular individuals like myself. I sought Dr. Jesse out from word of mouth recommendations from a number of local athletes I personally know. The bottom line is Dr. Jesse now helps my friends and myself continue to do what we love doing (running, biking, swimming, etc.). I knew I did not want to go the conventional route "see the physician and take a pill". This typically does not fix the injury. After you arrive at his office you might have to wait for your appointment. There is nice air conditioned waiting area to hang out in. Dr. Jesse is in high demand, so the wait is well worth it. He will take the time to answer all your concerns or questions. read more

Not the most professional business While the Active Release seemed to be helpful, I spent a fortune and never really solved the issue. My biggest problem is the unprofessionalism of the staff. One of the chiropractors is judgmental and obnoxious, and never really listened to my explanations. I mostly saw the other chiropractor, who was good. With my busy schedule, I found it annoying my appointments usually always started really late after I endeavored to always get there on time. I decided not to go back after I was stood up by the chiropractor and the staff couldn't tell me when he was returning. When I questioned the staff about his return (and my displeasure over the situation), I was defensively told the policy was to share patients between the chiropractors, which I thought was BS. I have seen the same chiropractor for over a year and a half, and I specifically make all my appointments with him to avoid the rude obnoxious one. Whatever good this office did was outweighed by the poor treatement I received. read more
