The person working at the front counter was very friendly and super helpful. The store has a unique layout and a broad selection of clothing, furniture, and home goods. The process for consigning was a little less inviting than other locations I consign with; maybe they were just having a hard day. I witnessed a consignor asking about an item she thought had been sold. The staff told her it had been broken on the sales floor and she wouldn't be compensated anything at all for it, as stated in the contract she signed, which seems a bit sketchy as a business transaction. I have been coming here for 8 years. I brought my clothing that was washed and thoroughly cleaned. Yes I am a smoker. By all means the clothing I brought in was NOT smelling like cigarettes! Used to be very good place to take nice items. Now they act like they're doing you a favor to take your items and they are very picky. Very sketchy way of keeping track of your items. I've taken numerous pricy items in for consignment - several Kate Spade purses and wallets plus many other things - full luggage set, household items, pricy clothing - so many things in fact that I've gone over their daily limit. I don't live close so I don't go in and check often, but unless they're selling Kate Spade purses for $5 each, I've never been compensated properly. They take appointments only on Thursday or Saturday which are required if you have more than 30 items - the max to consign at one time is 50. 45% commission for cash and 55% for store credit - I think this is a very fair price. They took over half my items!! And to say this place is curated is an understatement. They have everything from trendy to classic and its all great quality, majority designer/recognizable brands, and very organized. I will be back! read more

Had a 10:00 appt to consign today. Arrived at 9:58 and was told they weren't open yet, so I waited outside. I thought the girl would open the door to let me know she was ready to work. At 10:07 I called the store from the parking lot to see if they were open. The girl who answered said, oh, we thought you were on the phone or something .Yes, calling YOU! Because you couldn't be bothered to walk 4 feet out of your way and open the door to tell me you were open. You could see me standing out there if you'd bothered to look. Also, being handicapped , you rude people can't bother to open a door or offer any assistance in keeping with the rude vibe of this damn company! I'm offended, angry, and disgusted at their lack of basic courtesy. And the Mesa location is worse! Be better people! read more

Good concept of a place. However the men's selection is really only work wear. My biggest complaint is the lady who is running the consignment part in the back. The woman is so rude it's unbelievable. As a new seller I didn't know about some of their policies. You must bring clothes on a hangar. Ok, as a full time reseller. I brought clothes in a duffle bag like I do to Buffalo Exchange. She treated them like they were dirty and said they only accept pressed items. Jokes on her they took everything from my bag... Overall: You don't have to love your job but you should be nice to people. Especially new sellers who can bring good inventory. read more

Lots of cocktail dresses and quality business attire are hung separately from the casual/workout/jeans, etc, and a wide variety of barely worn shoes tops each gondola. Purses (designer and basic), swimwear, leather boots and unique items are displayed as well as finer furniture on the opposite side of the store. Sorry fellas, there is plenty here for you as well, but not nearly as much as there is for the women. More than your average thrift store when it comes to price, but the items are carefully curated. Worth it! *note: Selling here is like chewing tin foil. Don't expect great service if you're consigning. read more

I've consigned here about five times and they always take all of my items (which are current and like-new condition, approximately size 10 and 10 petite). The manager who does the buying is not friendly at all, but I'm always very kind and she treats me well! Unfortunately, I don't get much of a return on my items, usually just a dollar or two each even if each item cost $50 to $150+ new (express, white house black market, Stitch Fix, etc). My cash out for 35 items is usually between $50 and $100 (and it takes several months). Also, there was a mixup for my first cash out. I didn't realize I had to tell them at the time I consigned my items that I wanted cash and not trade so I had to get the manager to override for that. And you can't go back-and-forth between cash and trade; they said there is a time limit on making that switch, so that part is unclear. read more

Selection is okay, sometimes I find really great items, most of the time I don't. Was there to consign some items today, left for a couple hours. Sign on the counter says anything not picked up by 6pm will be donated. Okay, seems like it's fine to leave as long as you're back by 6pm. Dropped off items at 1030, came back a little after 2. The clerk met me at the door yelling, "you've been gone over 3 hours!" I didn't understand so she said, "you have to stay in the store or your car, you can't leave!" By now everyone is looking at her yell at me, I'm trying to stay calm and understand, I apologize and she says, "you know the rules, you've done this before! You did this when I first started working here 3 months ago!" I'm pretty sure she has me confused with someone else, but in any case, she really shouldn't be yelling at customers. Checked the receipt when I left and it says, "TurnStyle requests consigners stay in the store during their consignment. Any consigner, who chooses to leave the premises during the consignment, does so at their own risk as TurnStyle is not responsible for any items that are unaccepted or unaccounted. All unaccepted items will be donated at the end of the day without exception." No where does it say that you can't leave and in fact, it actually does say you can leave if you're willing to assume risk for your items. Overall, not a great experience. I'm not sure I'll be back. Maybe she's having a bad day, but really no excuse to raise her voice at a customer over something that's not even a requirement. read more

I'm from out-of-state and a friend that lives in the area told me about this consignment store. I'm so happy she did! I absolutely loved looking through all of the nice clothing, shoes and handbags, and the home decor section was fun as well. I could have spent hours in there looking, but unfortunately I only had about 45 minutes as they were closing. I left there with three shirts and a couple of cute home decor items, for a great price. They told her she couldn't walk in the front door she needed to drive around back where there is hardly any parking, sign up , carry your clothes around or wait in your car. I was shopping there today and overhead and elderly gentleman asking for assistance to carry a $400 chair to his vehicle. She explained to him why couldn't and instead would see if she could get another customer to help. She came to to me and said "I have to pretend I'm asking you a question. This man wants help carrying this chair to his car." Unexpectedly, I agreed to help. She then wanted me to carry the chair all the way from the front of the store to the back. I explained to the man what had been said and suggested he let them carry it all the way to the door. Um, with BR on the corner I like to browse while I eat my cup of one scoop of ice cream. They shoo'd me and my guest out of the store once, person wasn't very polite and there was not a no food/drink sign posted on the door. No one never acknowledge me standing in there another young lady standing on other side to counter she went over to asked her did she want help and the lady pull her out what she's been standing there for a while I asked to speak to the manager the managers never said I'm sorry never came up and try to make anything right and then once I got done explaining everything to her she laughed and went back in the back and told me I was on the wrong side of the counter if I want to pay for something I need to be on the other side of the counter and she explained to me that she usually have a line that's over there that showing the customers that's where you're supposed to be at to purchase anything had a very nasty disposition about herself I would never go there again read more

Turn Style is a local consignment store located in the busy Trader Joe's shopping center. I stopped in looking for a mirror for our front hall. There's a good selection of furniture and home decor. Right now there's very awesome mid-century robin egg upholstery couch ($1100) I had to drag myself away from. I was less impressed with the clothing selection. Granted, I'm a hard core thriftier, but Turn Style is a slightly curated step up from something like Goodwill with prices at about twice what I'd expect to pay there. Banana Republic and White House Black Market we're at the high end of the "brand-name" clothing brands I saw. A few Kate Spade and Coach bags (and one Tory Burch) were in the glass display cases and were the high-end of what they had. My kid found a Vera Bradley bag she wanted for $14. While there were a good array of sizes sorted by color, there were fewer than 10 dresses in my size so the selection was a bit meh in my opinion. Personally, I'd rather go lower end looking for a find or go some place with a funkier aesthetic if I'm going to pay the mark up for curation. read more

I had stopped in the location before heading next door to the TJ's as I had a good feeling about things. I did purchase a nice custom framed hand-painted board for $16. I didn't see much else that I liked but there was a lot of good condition items for sale at a very good price. For the most part the items are in a neat and orderly fashion so its easy to scan though all the things without having to hunt too much. read more

How do you lose 35 items? My receipt clearly shows 35 items however the Scottsdale, AZ store has no clue what happened to them. The Manager, Dawn, says ... 'well there were some items in a tray and we didn't know what they were so we donated them.' Dawn said, 'your receipt shows you are leaving items at your own risk, so we have no responsibility.' If items were sitting in a tray, why didn't Turnstyle attempt to locate the customer they belonged to? The items were all jewelry pieces, a few were silver and the rest were costume (necklaces, bracelets and earrings). Dawn gave me some convoluted calculation and said she would credit my account $28 and change. I declined. At a minimum, Turnstyle should pay me at least $5 per item or a total of $175. And that is a minimum! If Turnstyle accepts no responsibility and the consumer is leaving items at their own risk, I suppose that means ... Turnstyle could take in items and then leave them outside the store. Or an employee could conveniently 'lose' an item. Remember, it's at the consumer's risk! I am completely disgusted and will be escalating this situation. Bottom line ... BEWARE!! read more

Today through Jan 1,2018 Turn Style has all the red tags that are regularly priced - 50% off! Amazing! I could not help myself but to browse through to check out the deal, to my surprise most of the items were red tags! Score! My mom picked up 3 suits for total of 25 bucks! Brand names too and most still with ordinal tags on them. Home goods were extra 20% off the blue tags with items such as vases, pillows, or kitchen items. If you have items to cosign I would check these out as well to shed a few things from your closet. The furniture section has some good deals with variety of items, such as bedroom or dining room tables. - note you have move furniture yourself or pay 60 for delivery. I've been coming here for a few years. I have brought in a lot of clothing and home goods to consign. I've made a decent amount on the goods I've brought in. Sometimes they can be a bit picky, especially when some of the items on the floor are somewhat junky. Sometimes I'll bring items in a second time, if they don't accept them. Second time is often a charm. It's definitely a place you need time to go thru things. Patience is a must. I have gotten some great deals on nearly new clothing. I watch and wait for things to go on sale, unless it's too cool of an item that I 'can't live without'! I've noticed lately that this location seems a bit overloaded with clothes. Plenty of parking. One of the bigger locations. I really liked their layout. I went in here for the first time during their $2 sale. I brought my own cart in because I knew I was going to get a lot of items since I had just came from the Chandler location. I maybe had 10 items in my cart and one of the workers came up to me and started grabbing stuff out of my cart and said they would start a fitting room for me. I told them I didn't need to try anything on. I mean, at that price if it doesnt fit me, it will fit someone in my family. She said that she was then going to just hold it for me up front. I told her I preferred to keep it with me so that no one takes my stuff. I just came from a location where I saw people putting stuff on counters and that was considered being on hold. She said the stuff would be safe and continued to remove stuff from my cart. I REALLY didn't like that, mainly for the fact that she didn't even ask, she just did it without my permission and also for the fear of someone taking my items. Since I'm just grabbing items and putting them in my cart, I'm not gonna remember what I have so if someone did take it, I might not know. I'm assuming she thought I was going to steal. If this is a store policy, I didn't see a sign saying that and NONE of the other locations took items out of my cart when I took it in and filled it up. No one said anything besides "wow, look at the score of deals". Don't bother trying to consign here. I'd been consigning with Turnstyle for more than a decade, but since the pandemic they can't keep a staff are are "closed" to consignment more often than not. In the past month I've tried at least 5 times to take clothes in and they always have the stop sign up. Today I called and asked if they were accepting and was told yes. I guess that old saying is true: BUYER BEWARE! I came in here not 30 minutes ago just to browse. The store is fairly well kept and is clean, and items are easy to find with placards denoting each type of item in each isle. The furniture area seemed pretty well laid out, as well as the home furnishings in the back. I found a couple of cute pants and decided to try them on for S&G's, if you know what I mean. First I tried on a pair of mustard jeans that weren't too bad actually, but when I went to go to try on a pair of black and white polka dot leggings I had to stop myself. First I double checked the size in the back, like I always would. I noticed that there was a small brown stain and I thought, "Oh, could be coffee" but upon further inspection I noticed that the whole inside was BROWN, WITH POOP STAINS!!!! Here's the deal. I understand that this is a thrift shop and you might have an occasional stain on shirts and pants; but an explosive poop stain inside a pair of pants is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! No one wants to wear anyone else's poop in their pants! My first reaction was, "Eww gross, someone gave these to a store" but then I was struck with the thought "THIS STORE IS SELLING SOMEONE'S POOP STAIN!" I can't believe this chain of stores doesn't check the inside of pants, especially pants that usually aren't meant for women to wear underwear in! After all that's said and done I left the store and went to another store in the plaza. A few minutes later I began to itch something terrible, so much so that I had to cut my visit short and rush home for a shower. I won't be returning to this store and I suggest you shouldn't either. I realize that I should have spoken to a customer service rep at the store, but honestly, would they have taken it off the rack? Not if they put it there in the first place, is my guess.. I arrived at the McClintock and Guadalupe Tempe store with two pairs of shoes, a purse, and one top. When I entered the store to check in, I was told to go back to my car get my things and hang my one shirt on the rack next to the desk. I said I did not bring a hanger, may I borrow, one of yours? She said no you cannot. I said are you telling me that you have all those empty hangers sitting there and I can't borrow one and hang it back on your rack? And she said that's correct. I get it if everyone came in there with a ton of clothes and wanted to borrow their hangers that would be a problem. I could have used just a little bit of customer service that would have allowed me to borrow one hanger for the top they most likely would have taken. I let them know that I would take my things elsewhere and the employee just didn't care. So that's what I'm going to do. I will find another consignment store that wants my business. I'm beyond shocked about the treatment I received from the manager/owner that was going through my clothing items. She was rude and disrespectful to me, in front of my daughter, scolding me and warning me that my items need to be on hangers or she won't accept them anymore. My goodness, I had the hangers in my hand and was ready to display everything for her. I like the idea of this store, the concept is helpful but the treatment to customers is uncalled for. I was disappointed in this store. It's in the shopping center with Changing Hands and Trader Joes so I think it is wasting its opportunity. On the positive side, it is a clean store and has room to walk around and look at the items. And if you have items on consignment you get to choose between store credit or cash - store credit is 55%, cash is 45% if the item sells. You have 90 days for the item to sell. Then you need to pick it up or it becomes the property of Turn Style. You need to keep track of the items, they don't call when the 90 days hit. There's two big negatives to me regarding this store: overpriced items and pleasant but not friendly staff. That's too bad because there is allot of traffic in that area due to the other stores. I have a rule not to shop in stores that don't appreciate my business. They can use some training in the customer service area. read more

Every time I go in for a look ,I always find something that is unique and cool. they have so many pieces of great furniture. I have no where to put any furniture, but if you are looking ,they have some seriously great finds. The prices on the furniture are amazing! So beyond reasonable. They also carry all sorts of clothes,Men , Women , and kids. They have shoes, belts, purses. As well as lots of great jewelry. My personal favorite though is the household things. Dishes and knick knacks. Love to just check it all out! Everything is in really nice condition as well. I know that they have a few other locations as well.
