We had lunch at Tulum on a Thursday at Noon. We were the first, and for nearly the entire meal, the only customers. It's a slow time and they staff appropriately. This was fine because the bartender was also our server. She was super sweet and attentive. She also helped us figure out what to order. She mentioned their steak is fantastic. We followed her direction and ordered steak like it was the only thing on the menu. The place is super cute. We started with an order of steak nachos. OMG... this is a meal for the whole table. It was super delicious. Oh... you can have any protein you'd like, but of course we ordered steak. There were a fair number of jalapeños in the mix, but they were nowhere near overly spicy. If you are here for the first time with a group of four or less, you may want to think twice before ordering the nachos because it is a LOT of food. As yummy as it was, it was filling and made eating the rest of our meals a bit of a challenge. Three folks went for one of the lunch specials, which are 1. Burrito (protein of choice) with a small serving of chips and salsa and 2. Two tacos (choice of protein, Birria not included) w/ rice. All three ordered the burrito. I believe everyone got steak. Most could only eat one half. Mark was talking about his burrito hours later. I love Birria and like to try it wherever it is available. I ordered Birria tacos (order of 3). I struggled to eat all three, but I succeeded. Not only were they great, but the star was the taco wrap. It had a slightly salty flavor and tasted freshly made. Mark also commented on the burrito wrap itself. It looked similar to my taco shell/wrap. The taste of the wraps/shell truly elevated the flavor overall. We had to try the Churros for dessert. The serving was much larger than I expected. It can easily be shared by two. It is served warm, which was a treat. Mark didn't love them, but I thought they were a deliciously sweet ending to the meal. If you're feeling full, but still want to try the dessert, go for it but consider sharing. We ordered the enchiladas and shrimp tacos. My son said the enchiladas were good, although they were prepared differently. My tacos had a really good flavor but they were really dry and you have to pay for a tiny ramekin of salsa. It wasn't bad, but with all of the other options I doubt we will be back. read more

What a nice little hidden gem!! If you like Mexican food then you definitely need to try this place out. My advice is to start at the bar and then figure out what you want to eat. You order when you walk in and then find your table. We went to the bar first and looked over the menu while have an adult beverage. The spicy margarita is outstanding!! You also get to speak with the staff and ask their suggestions on what to eat. Staff is amazing and offered plenty of suggestions. Nice little vibe in this hidden gem! We had loaded nachos as an appetizer and had everything from asada burritos to quesadillas between the 6 of us. Prices are as expected and affordable for what you get. My husband and I stopped in for the 1st time based on favorable reviews by locals. Only looking to grab an afternoon margarita on a hot Saturday afternoon. Atmosphere is inviting, clean, and fits an authentic Mexican theme with decor. We sat down at the bar, my husband ordered a classic margarita with a salt rim & I ordered their spicy margarita with a tajin rim. (My go-to drink) I excused myself to the bathroom and returned to our freshly made margaritas. The spicy margarita had a real kick to it (as it should) but with a funny aftertaste & color. I asked my husband if the bartender put HOT SAUCE in my margarita??? He was not paying attention while she made it and didn't know. I then observed the bartender making more spicy margaritas for other patrons. I was horrified to see her middle PICKLED JALAPEÑOS and yes, she in fact also added Valentines Hot Sauce to the drink. Yuck! Bartender was sweet. Not at all her fault for pouring a horrible drink based on Tulum's recipe. 100% take pickled jalapeños out of your bar & replace with fresh! And never ever pour hot sauce into a margarita again. read more

Went here for lunch today based on the reviews we have read. We absolutely loved it! Normally, you order from the window, get your drinks from the bar, and have a seat. It wasn't busy, so the bartender waited on us. He was very helpful in explaining the menu. We ordered the birria tacos and ramen birria. The food has a different taste than other Mexican restaurants, but is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is festive and the staff is friendly. Love this fun location with a great patio that will be wonderful in warmer months. There is a $10 lunch special (1 burrito or 2 tacos with a side of rice) that is a great bargain. Great addition to Bellevue. The interior is beautifully decorated and there are more tables than I expected. Plus a bar, with quite a few seats. It was very busy on the Tuesday we were there, and a plus was 20% off food as a "taco Tuesday" promo. The crowds did result in it being pretty loud inside though. When you walk in, there's a window to the kitchen where you order and pay for food, and they'll give you a number for your table. If you want drinks (including water), those are ordered/paid for at the bar. We ordered the birria tacos (order of 3), a shrimp taco, 2 steak tacos, chips and guacamole, and a large stuffed churro to split for dessert. This was a good amount of food for 2 people, and came to $38 (before tip) with the 20% discount. Simple and well-executed. Small menu. I had the steak quesadilla and a shrimp taco. My parents had a chicken burrito, chicken tacos, and a side of elote. A lot of American quesadillas are over-cheesed, and this one was not at all. Over-steaked, if anything -- which never happens. I especially loved how thin and crispy the tortilla was. The shrimp taco was recommended at the counter and rightly so: fresh, juicy, really nice with a splash of salsa verde. I didn't try my parents' dishes, but they looked tasty and they were enjoyed. This new Mexican place is solid. If you haven't been to try it out, you need to... Mañana! I grew up in Los Angeles and Mexican is my favorite quisine. Good Mexican in NKY / Cincinnati is hard to come by. This place is solid and will be in our regular restaurant rotation. We had the chips and trio of salsa/guac/queso, enchiladas and Birria tacos. All excellent (though I do like spicier chips and salsa). My picky eating daughter ordered the hot dog (plain) and ate it all (win). My other daughter had the burrito with chicken (well wrapped and a little crispy on the outside). Churro for desert. All really good, but then I was talked into trying the quesadilla... Best I've ever had. It is not your basic cheese and tortilla, there are some amazing spices going on. Everything is homemade fresh daily and it shows. No strange neon margarita mix, just fresh squeezed lime juice and simple syrup (or skinny if you like it that way). The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
