Had Tulcingo take out for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp chimichanga and I'll definitely get it again and yes again. It's just has all the right flavors. Came with beans and rice which were also so good. Not to mention the portions were generous. Had some of the green and red sauce also very good and easy to mild spice. I was in mood for lunch so i tried here. My ilder sister had great time in there; now know why. Going inside i noyiced first the bright colored chairs , clay/ porcelain painted, southwestern decor tasteful but not over the top. I ordered the enchilada mosquerda and guac small . The guac was very good fresh smooth, salsa was overly with the onion and cilantro. Enchiladas were very good not overly spicy, very cheesey and spicy green tomatillo sauce. This is a cute little spot tucked on the corner of a strip of stores in Monroe, NY. I met a couple friends for an after work dinner and it was a very cute dining area, beautifully decorated in the culture, music playing, just an all around good time. Our server was nice, she came back just enough to keep us happy and made sure we were taken care of. I asked her about the meal I chose and she gave me a honest description, so I tried it. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for it. I normally choose a chicken quesadilla, but I decided to"try something new" and that was my bad. I chose the Mexican quesadilla, it's a deep fried corn tortilla, and it's a puffy stuffed tortilla. It may just be too different for me personally. I will go back another day to try something I'm more familiar with. I also had the fresh guacamole and chips, this was chunky and delicious, and my margarita was very good as well. read more

The food is spectacular, I got a staple, chicken fajitas. It was served hot, was extremely flavorful. I have been to many place that have let me down lately. But I would return. Those was definitely a hidden gem. We were starving though couldn't find any parking at the Woodbury Commons so we can't to the area we needed to be and find a place to eat. This didn't look like much from the outside though as soon as you walk in on a Sunday at 4PM and it's crowded which is a good sign. While we were there, patrons left and more came in. We received complimentary salsa (which has a kick) and chips which were a bit hard -- good structure for holding the salsa. Just be careful with the liquid on the chip. The second round the chips were warm though still hard. The employees were efficient and all helping out each other whether picking up plates or bringing drinks and dishes. Our drinks: Horchata: was watery and not full of flavor as one would expect. Cranberry and Hibiscus: was great. Our meal: Mexican Quesadilla - it looks more like a huge empanada with rice and beans in the side. The food is rock solid but the tacos are served Street-style which means you need to order 1000 of them and add any toppings on an individual basis. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is just something that I have noticed in the many Mexican restaurants I have eaten all across the country. There is nothing fancy about the interior of this restaurant, but I have never thought of Mexican food as a white linen and fine silverware type of dining experience. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They only enhanced the dining experience. You cannot go wrong by ordering the burritos. Tacos were pretty good, as well. They were VERY busy on a Monday night, a reflection of their great food, so I recommend making a reservation. They seemed a little understaffed, but the staff was working together to make sure tables were attended to and getting what they need. HUGE menu so everyone will be able to get what they want. Ordered my favorite signature Mexican dish - the molcajete - to which I use and a report card gradient for all Mexican restaurant. It translates to volcano bowl and includes a mixed variety of carnes (meats) and onions, tomatoes & peppers sautéed together into a fajita like stew. This was good and plentiful, but not the best I've had. I ordered the 'Kelly's slender margarita' which was supposed to be all fresh ingredients but tasted like a low cal sour mix. Best salsa, best guacamole, do yourself a favor and get the gorditas with steak, ask for the green sauce on the side which is amazing.
