I'm back in my home base area and decided to treat myself to some tacos. This place did not disappoint! The service was friendly and rapido. The tacos were un poquito but beyond tasty. The price wasn't bad at all. The spot is small and quaint. The ambiance is awesome. The chairs and tables reflect true Hispanic culture. It was also full of patrons. The tables were packed with other taco enthusiasts enjoying their lunches. I need to come back as this place has more to offer and more tacos to enjoy. I cannot wait to follow up. In the past I got soup.The guy served it and only with a spoon. There was a big chunk of meat on the bone in it a spoon wouldn't work I had to ask for a fork and a knife to cut it as I'm not going to eat that big bone of meat with my fingers The tamarind soda on tap was tasty and a nice dark color. First time to sit down and have dinner here. I have eaten there tacos before and they are great! Well it's very very hot and humid today. I walked inside and the place was empty and was very hot inside. So as we walked all the way inside it got a little cooler but still very hot. I guess there AC was not working well. For some reason in New York, and especially in Monroe, mexican spots will not put cheese on tacos. They wont... put cheese... on tacos. Why. Why would you do this. There is no excuse. La Rancherita is different. They cheese it up and the flavor blows all the competitors out of the water. I used to exclusively buy at Tulcingo's and the taco truck in harriman but I've completely switched to this place. But best of all is the burritos. I can't even describe how good their burritos are. Filled with cheese, rice, beans, sour cream, salsa, etc., and for $10, the burritos are really something else. You can actually hold them and eat them unlike other places that make large burritos. I ordered in Monroe with GRABHUB 1 CALDO POLLO soup and 1 FAJITA OF CAMARONE The driver delivered the ordered food even though the juice and juice of both the soup and the main course were in the nylon bag and not in the container. One sip of the soup was left in the container along with the tasteless chicken leg and tasteless vegetables, as the chicken soup was not cooked properly, the chicken was tough and inedible. The vegetable was still hard and pretty much raw, only the corn was properly cooked...... so the soup juice had no taste. I won't order any more. It's true that the price of the soup was reimbursed, but it still left my mouth bitter, because when I opened the box, I saw that the souse of the Fajita de Camarones had also flowed into the bag, leaving the dry rice and vegetables without sauce and 5 pieces of crab. I wasn't happy about that either and I didn't enjoy eating the dry food, even though the photos are appetizing. I paid $28.95 for all this without the soup. The location is great. Seating is open and plentiful and the restaurant looks clean. However, I'm still scratching my head at how a takeout meal for 3 amounted to almost $50. For one, they don't give complementary chips. I believe we ordered chimichangas, a couple tacos and the cebolla chicken dish. The onion chicken dish was dry as ever. Portions are huge and the prices are quite reasonable. I have had a variety of different tostadas and each one was better than the next! Same goes for the burritos and cemitas. The Huaraches were just okay, but the complimentary chips and salsa(s) are always tasty, and the tables all have different hot sauces available.
