Finding a phone number on the website proved impossible and emails go unanswered. I finally found the direct number for customer service and I was quickly forwarded to a third party repair company upon asking a basic how to of draining my 400 series tuff spa. There are no resources available that I can find on how to properly operate or maintain this spa. I would not recommend anyone purchasing one of these. read more

Do not let these guys talk you into the salt system add on. That expensive add on killed my spa after only owning it a short time no matter how careful I was with the salt and chemicals. After years of a dead spa in my yard, I've had the Tuff spa system gutted and rebuilt with after market components. I now use the Frog Ease floating dispenser and it works perfectly balancing the levels. No more corrosion problems and the spa had been running for 6 months with the rebuild, longer than it ever worked with the original Tuff Spa build. Again, my advice, go to Costco for a better brand and better warranty. Stay away from Salt systems. read more

I purchased T450 Tuff Spa in July of 2025. I did not start the Spa up until September as I needed cement poured to serve it on. I noticed the cover gasket started to break apart and fall into the spa. I then noticed the cover had sharp edges where it was molded and were not cleaned up. Some times in January or February a leak started. I called the manufacturer to report the leak and gasket problem. I was told the spa was not covered for labor after six months and the gasket was not covered. The cover is covered for live, but thre gasket is not. Don't understand why as the gasket is part of the top. The manufacturer had been pull the sides of the spa and I found where water was dripping. They had me take pictures of that area. They sent me some parts and gave two names of repair people that fixed spa leaks. I called the first one and he said he did not have time to fix it. I called the second person who said he would come to fix the leak. About a week later he showed up and found a small tub leaking at a connection. He repair the leak. The parts that the manufacturer sent had nothing to do with the leak. The spa did not stop leaking and after times of calling to get it fixed, a second person came out and found out that a return jet at the bottom was broken off. He replaced the part, with my help. He advised me that I would have to pay a service charge of $229 to look at the spa. After he found the leak, he said it would be around $325. If he had to remove the one of the pumps, it would be more. He did not have to remove the pump. When he was done the price was $600. Total time of work was less then two hours as we had to wait until the spa was pump out. My total cost for two repairs was $1146. The spa was less than a year old. I had a Tuff Spa for six years in Arizona heat and never had a problem. This was when they were owned by a company out of California. Once they were bought out by a company in Tennessee, they went down hill. I have owned six spa in my life time and never had any problem except this last one. Sorry I did not do my diligence before buying a Tuff Spa. read more

Do not buy a spa from LPI, Inc or any of their companies: Aqua Living, Catalina Spas, Dr. Wellness, Tuff Spas, Plug and Power Spas, Hudson Bay Spas, Pinnacle Spas Hydro Spas, Signature Spas, EneverySaver Spa Equipment or Wholesale Spa Covers. I purchased a brand new spa from their TuffSpa line of products for ~$8,000. The molded spa cabinet had a manufacturing/design flaw, and water from rain and spa use was getting directly inside the spa, where all of the electrical components are. I filed a warranty claim a few weeks after receiving my spa, and the company refuses to do anything about it. The company will no longer respond to me, and I am now left with a completely broken spa that is less than 1.5 years old. read more

DO NOT BUY! I usually don't write reviews like this but wow, I wish I had listened to the few other one star reviews that are out there. So frustrated with our experience with both the product and this company for numerous reasons, let me count the ways... First - they shipped the spa via a local drop-ship provider. When the delivery driver arrived, it was a young man by himself. No forklift. No means or ideas for how to off-load the spa. Thankfully we had a neighbor who had contractors doing work on their yard and they just happened to have a back-hoe with a forklift attachment. Next up there was a severe gash along the lid of the tub. I made sure to take pics of this while still in the truck. Now, the company ultimately took care of this in a sense by sending a new lid, but there was a lot of back and forth to make this happen. If only that was the worst of it though... More problematic is that the tub has had constant challenges staying at a decent temp. In the 4 winter months that we've owned it, we've been able to use it for maybe about two weeks on the warmest of days/weeks. We live in upstate NY and were told on numerous occasions that this tub could handle cold weather, not to mention many YouTube videos attesting to this. We've gone back and forth with the company to try to address this to no avail. The first major issue is that the spa was sent out locked in economy mode. After repeated calls to our main contact, Travis, we finally figured out that this was the problem and in fact is now happening with all of their units sent out from Phoenix. Now, maybe this was an honest mistake (like the dropship issue), but we had the spa plugged in using power but basically useless for nearly a month. So now that we're no longer in economy mode, it sometimes gets to 104 & is usable, yay! But if ever the temps dropped below freezing we'd have the temp of the spa drop 6-10 degrees in half an hour of use. Then could take days to heat up to 104 again. They've sent more insulation, barely helped. We've unplugged and reset the spa numerous times. This does seem to help on occasion, but why are we having to do this in the first place. Now about a month ago they finally hired a local service person to come take a look at it (this should have happened within weeks). He ended up replacing the main control unit and the control pad. And it hasn't been usable since. It made it up to 92 at one point, but usually stays in the 80s. I'm so glad we paid +$6k for an outdoor luke-warm bath tub! read more

We purchased a Tuff Spa TT150 while visiting the home show in Phoenix in October 2021. It was just the right size to fit in the patio, under cover and close enough to an outlet to "plug and play". At the home show, the sales manager (Jon H.) actually shoulder nudged my wife out of his way as he was in a hurry to grab some sales forms. Just incredibly rude, if you ask me. So we spoke to Kyle H. he was very nice. Having never owned a hot tub before, we were concerned about the particulars with start-up and operation of the unit. Kyle assured us that they would give us full support in this area, and included "Setup" as one of the provisions of the sales contract. (See attached photo). Kyle told us setup was to include filling the tub with water, adding chemicals, plugging it in and a primer on operating the hot tub pump, lights, etc. Imagine my surprise when the delivery people knew nothing about setup. So in calling the company, they had no idea what setup was or what services were suppose to be provided. They were also unsure of who they might send to my house to perform this service, since they have no one working for them who routinely provides this service. In other words, I was on my own, in spite of their contract and verbal promise. Thank goodness for You Tube videos. While I cannot speak to the relative long-term quality of their product, having had it operational for less than a week, I can say it is functioning as expected and thanks to several You Tube videos, I was able to locate the power cord and actually plug the unit in and get it working. So in summary, let me say I am satisfied with the performance of the product after start-up and one 15 minute usage. What I find objectionable is the lack of integrity for a company to not honor it's contract or promises. Call it a 4 star product with 2 star service, hence a 3 star rating overall. read more

I have a weekly service and the water is always murky. I have even switched cleaning companies, but the same problem persists. Also, the top doesn't seal well and I have had to replace lid parts multiple times. The gfi that it is plugged into "trips" all the time and the water is cold when I want to use it. We've had our Tuffspa a couple weeks and it has been great. It was delivered during the coldest stretch of this year's winter and the water was nice and hot on the coldest nights. One reason we picked Tuffspa was the side of the house where we had room for a hot tub was on the opposite side of the house from the circuit breaker so 220 wasn't an option. I was skeptical the water would be hot enough on 110 but on these really cold nights we've had to turn the temperature water down!! The Tuffspa does a great job staying hot! Everything on the spa works great and the cover system is still one of our favorite features. We've been back by the home shows a couple of times since our purchase and of course stopped by to look at other hot tubs to see if we noticed anything on other spas that ours doesn't have, and we still think our Tuffspa was the best choice. Our delivery date was pushed off repeatedly and finally, when they claimed it had been shipped, they then notified us they had shipped the wrong spa. We asked for a refund nearly a month ago and were told it had been approved. We still have not received that refund. I have no spa. I have no money. This company has been the absolute worst nightmare in the world to deal with. I urge everyone who reads this to go with any other company for a spa. It may be tuff ,but it stops there. The human body displacement overflows the tub or the filter dosen't have enough water to supposedly operate when no one is in it. The bottom and the top remains full of dirt, because of a horrible cleaning system, if any. If you close it with a leaf or dirt in it, when you open it a day later still has leaf and dirt in it. It also leaks brand new and leaking. I was told that people complain about it running all the time, thats because it does run alot of the time, atleast Way more than they say it does. I love my Tuff Spa, however the 1st week we had it the knob to control the foot pressure was very hard to turn. To the point, it stripped the knob after 1 week. We also have had a couple of other small issues. My complaint is with customer service. We were told to send a pix and email. We have many, many times. No response. We call, no response, we call a couple of other numbers we were given, "can't help you unless you email and they give us the go-ahead". Continued run around, no help, no customer service. Placed at order at San Diego County Fair for Tuff Spa in June order came in July with out my steps I called the only number on my receipt was on hold for 1hour for a rude lady to answer the phone I told her I never received my steps with my delivery of spa she states they are on back order that they should arrive first week of August like I was already supposed to know that. So I wait till the 10th I call again I'm on hold for over a hour again then a really nice lady takes all of my information and says she will place the order and I should receive in a week. We've had several hot tubs over the years and this is hands down the best. The lid is so easy to open and it has a lifetime warranty. Also love the low maintenance and low chemicals. My Tuff Spa, which cost over $6,000 started leaking within four months. There is only one person in TUlsa that would even service a Tuff Spa. Customer Service was also no help. The repair was done and the spa started leaking again immediately. Other spa services around town said Tuff Spas are impossible to work on and would need to be taken to another site to fix, so they will not service them. What a complete waste of money. Tuff Spas do NOT honor their warranty either. I have had several spas and this was the worst spa I have ever owned. I traded it in for a refurbished spa from a different company. Horrible spas. I purchased 3 units and have had a motor failure on each of them within 1.75 years. The side panels are very cheaply done and fall apart easily. Believe it or not but they use steel screws and mounts thoughtout the tub and cover that corrode and rust making for ugly rust stains inside the tub and corroded bolts that make it impossible to service components without having to cut the bolts in half with a grinder (replacing the motors) as they get rusted together. I have also experienced numerous leaks that fill the spa cabinet underneath (this caused one of the motors to be submerged in water and rust). They do not even have any drain holes that would even let you know there was an internal leak before it is too late. I believe LPI / Tuff Spas makes these rotomolded tubs as cheap as possible. How else can you explain not even using a stainless or rust proof connections on the inside of the cover when it is exposed to water and moisture ALL of the time?????? I absolutely regret buying these pieces of shit. I have owned many other quality tubs in the past like HotSprings and would STRONGLY advise everyone to stay away from Tuff Spas and instead spend a little extra and get a much better quality tub. read more

I am a retired/disabled veteran that must use a powered wheelchair part of the time as I cannot walk very far. I use a hot-tub-spa for daily physical therapy due to spinal-leg damage from the military. My current spa is about 15 years old and though it looks great from the outside, the original control box & switches are failing and both of the motors need to be replaced also. So it would cost about $2,500.to $3,000 to repair. I wanted to either repair my spa or replace with a new one. I have researched about 20 companies on the internet that are in this area. I spoke with a salesman from Tuff Spas this evening by telephone after sending them an email. The salesman told me on the phone that they will not mail out any information and will not even come to my home to see what I need or to discuss. He stated that I must visit their showroom and fill out an information sheet and that the spa model & purchase would be generated off of that. I told him that I needed a salesman to come to my home, especially since I already had a spa so a new one would have to match size, wiring, and other factors. He said that " making home visits is against our company policy"!! We bought from tuff spas 10/2020. The spa was delivered much later than promised-- 1/2021. The customer service people would never give us accurate updates on delivery status. Finally the tub had been shipped. I contacted the shipper to get ETA they said they were delayed then eventually they scheduled delivery. Day before delivery I called to get a time so I could tell the movers and electrician. They said they hadn't ever scheduled delivery and I must be mistaken. So I lost my deposit with the movers, will tuff spas do anything? No. Next spa had no chemicals and no step (I paid for both). I called and asked they said they would be overnighted. I asked what chemicals I should buy he said sodium bicarb and that the spa would be ok no chemicals for a week and by then my chemicals that I paid for would have arrived. I also reported that the light in the spa was broken. 3 weeks later: still no chemicals. They admit they never sent the step the chemicals "got lost in the mail" and the light is still broken. The sodium bicarb was not the right chemical and honestly why do they not send some kind of pdf care sheet on taking care of your spa/what chemicals to use? I have asked for one repeatedly and they never sent anything. The manual said to "ask your dealer". So in the end I paid 7,000 to stand in the snow and scrub algae off a spa with a broken light. I live in Idaho and use my spa year round. It uses less electricity than expected, (about $10 a month in summer and $30 a month in winter at 100 deg.). While checking the water leaks in my (not so much) Tuff Spa I realized what horrible workmanship in putting the water lines together. Everything tends to be tweaked so the lines are cockeyed going into PVC elbows and the flexible 2" lines are cut short. Another issue is trying to find someone that works on your spas around Yuma AZ. We bought a jacuzzi from TUFF SPA approximately 6 months ago. The main pump went out so we immediately called to schedule for the pump to be replaced since it is under "warranty". They wanted my wife to remove the 50 screws out of the cheap panel to take a picture of the pump instead of knowing what we have. Mind you, we paid almost $8,000.00 for this jacuzzi. I called complaining that they will not have my wife remove anything and how on earth did we wait 16 weeks of the 8 weeks we were promised and you still don't know what pump is in our newly built jacuzzi??? They finally ordered our pump after a fight, (which showed up 2 weeks later) Now, We've had this pump sitting at our house for 3 weeks and no one has reached out to schedule an appointment to install. (We were told someone would be calling us to schedule) No one has called us and we don't want to sit on hold for 40 min AGAIN!! Worst customer service we have ever encountered, starting with the guys that showed up originally to install. We were told before we purchased the jacuzzi that, "When the guys leave your house, you will be able to use immediately" That was a big lie, they wouldn't wire it up or fill it up! The way I look at this is they only sell one jacuzzi per customer, so they could care less after the sale is made! It should be against the law the way they have treated us! I made a decision to purchase their top model spa at the Prescott Home Show on May first. They wanted a 50% deposit and said they could deliver to my home in Prescott from Phoenix by mid June. I only gave them $1500 on a credit card as no way 50% was going to work for me. At the end of June I called to get an ETA. Was told 2-4 more weeks due to backlog. Called again at the end of July, still no spa. They said they were waiting to hear from me as my order was OTN. What is OTN I ask. Owner to Notify. They said it was on my order that way. I don't what that their acronyms mean but my order says ASAP and estimated delivery of mid June per the salesman checking that box. They said they would now put in the production order and it would be 4 more weeks. I asked if the order could be expedited, they said they would call me back. No call came. Called again a few days later and they still could not tell me a delivery date. Now I want to cancel as these people don't have a clue to what they are doing with my order. I was told there would be a restocking fee of 25% of the total purchase price. How can you charge a restocking fee for something they have not yet started building? I escalated to the sales manager and he said he would look into it and call me back within 24 hours. No phone call came. I repeatedly called and emailed him and my sales person. No response. I received a call from their customer service person at their corporate office Aqua Living Stores in TN. She said they would ship from TN and have it shipped via truck to my home. What? They are made in Phoenix. What about installation as promised. She had no idea. I asked to speak with the national manager and she gave me a name and email, but refused to connect me or provide a phone number. I emailed him to complain and a few days later I received an email from him saying that he was not responsible for this division and referred me back to the other sales manager. Back to chasing him. No response after repeated messages to him. Left repeated voice mail messages that if they could not call me back, I will dispute the deposit charge with my credit card company. No response. I called my credit card company to file a dispute for non-delivery as it was now been over 3 months since I paid the deposit. The credit was finalized. Yay, it pays to be a good credit card customer. A week later, I received a call from a delivery person that wanted to schedule delivery from Phoenix. He had no idea the order was cancelled and my deposit was credited. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. OK, Fast forward to almost the 2 year mark. Tuff Spa's did eventually get their manufacturing in CA to come up with a solution to the lid issue and sent me some replacement parts. I do have to install them myself, but my spa 'dealer' is gone (out of business), so that is not their fault. Then out of the clear blue I get a note from them. They noticed my negative Update and wanted to know if everything was resolved. I told them reasonably so, but now I have another issue. I was an early adopter of their 'Painted' (to look more like stone) panels. Less than 2 years in the west and south panels were faded and peeling. So I sent some pictures..... Even though their spa's have been redesigned and manufacturing moved from California to Prescott AZ, they said they would repaint the panels. Luckily I live in the same area (35 miles away) and was able to bring them the panels and pick them up. So the spa looks great again, and hopefully now they have the process perfected and they should not fade as much or as quickly. In Phoenix AZ, the sun fades EVERYTHING, but I hope we get at least 5 years this time!! read more

However, it delivering the spa--they tore up the tile on my porch and refuse to contact me or help me fix the tile. I appreciated the efforts in delivery and to be truthful--had the tile repaired. We only moved into the home March. I have photos showing pre delivery and no damage. What bugs me is that the refusal to engage--so if I have a problem with my spa am I going to get the same run around? To repair the tile was 197.00. Not a lot of money-more of just a hassle. I ordered 3 Tuff Spa hot tubs and have had issues with all 3. One repeatedly trips a breaker once a week, one has a leak in the plumbing since day 1 and all 3 were ordered with cold weather package and all 3 arrived without it. I have called warranty support numerous time which is a horrible experience. Hold times average 30 - 50 minutes just to get an answer. They then say they will get the issues taken care of and it NEVER happens. I have been waiting over 5 months and still NADA. The tubs themselves are the worst that I have ever owned by far and the service is the worst. I may have to do a chargeback and have them pick up these horrible tubs if they can not make good of these issues immediately. As I type, I am on a 30 minute hold once again with their warranty support and still have yet to hear a human. Stay far away. My HotSprings tubs are night and day better quality and performance. read more

Buyer Beware!!! I purchased a Tuff Spa hot tub 3 years ago at the Pittsburgh Home Show. Initially, I loved the design, specifically the hard top cover. I was also very happy with the configuration of the jets. Delivery of the tub was very amateurish by one gentlemen, his daughter and 2 small grandkids. We did experience a leak within the first 3 months, and was instructed by the manufacturer to find a local hot tub service company to come out and repair. This turned out ok and to their credit, Tuff Spas reimbursed me for the expense. Fast forward a year later and additional leaks appeared, Tuff Spas said it was out of warranty and their repair shops were 2 to 3 hours away. I have not been able to get any of them to respond to our issue. I had the local repair shop back out with 2 men for over 2 hours and they basically punted on completing the repair. The construction of the Tuff Spas rotomold shell and the sprayed on insulation vs traditional acrylic tubs makes it very difficult to repair. Two lessons learned; don't buy from manufacturer direct, and don't buy from Tuff Spas or from LPI Inc, the parent company. read more

Tough spas cancelled their warranties through B and L pools then went out of business. Any tough spas out there now are no longer covered by any type of warranty. Mine is less than two years old and keeps tripping the outlet. Aqua living is located in Tennessee and will start manufacturing spas under the tough spa name in the near future. I bought my tough spa based on the sales pitch that it was a local company and great to work with. DO NOT BUY TOUGH SPAS. Maybe Aqua living will stick around long enough to make their warranty worth it on the products they manufacture. But they will not honor a warranty from the original tough spa company. Well, where should I start? I'll start at the beginning. We were at the Virginia State fair and ran across the Tuff Spa display. We'd been looking at spas and decided hey let's investigate these Tuff Spas. The salesperson was very accommodating and informative, and not at all pushy which I hate. We'd not seen anything else we liked up to this point, so we decided that really this fit what we were looking for. We made a deposit to reserve the fair price and a few months later made final payment once we had the new deck built. Here's where the trouble started. We were told it would be delivered on one date and it wasn't even close to the date given. Okay that can happen when shipping large items, so I gave it a pass. Then the spa is delivered, yay we have a spa, but wait it's not the spa we ordered. I call Tuff Spas in Glendale, AZ and give them the serial number. Oh yes sir you were delivered the wrong spa we'll have them (the contract delivery company) swap it out with your spa. I really hated to see the delivery guys wrestle those tubs again, because they are so heavy. Okay now we have a hot tub, yay! Once the electrician had all the wiring all sorted out we started the tub, and were off and running. It looked great! Then came the big problem. The main board fried. Something shorted the main board (see photos), so I called Tuff Spas again, and sent pictures. I was told the circuit breaker failed to protect the board, and that it's not covered under the warranty. I was less than pleased about that. I had the circuit breaker tested, and it works as expected. None the less I ordered a new board at $194.00 and it was shipped the same day. I received it a few days later, opened the box, and all looked well. When I was finally able to go about swapping the boards out I discovered that they shipped me the wrong board even though I gave them the serial number of the tub. You'd think they would know which one to send right? The part number of the one in the tub is 22972_E and the one shipped was 22971_E2. By the number on the board you'd think there wasn't much difference, but as it turns out there is, and this board won't work. So, that's where I'm at right now and I'm beginning to see where others are having similar problems with this company. Terrible customer service. They do not answer their phones, nor do they return voicemails or emails. They did not deliver the unit on time and gave my salesman a hard time when he called to inquire about it. Terrible company! Does the owner know what's going on? read more

I visited Tuff Spas display at the Arizona State Fair. I put a deposit down, pretty simple. Tuff Spas let me make interest free payments until I was ready to have it built. Big thanks... before mine started production they invited me to come down for a tour. I am also a disabled Veteran and Tuff Spas wanted me to look at the display model and make any changes to jets and there locations, and to help me get in and out of the spa to make sure this is the spa I wanted.
