We were super excited to relax, blow off some steam, and enjoy the ambiance. We pulled up to the location, made our way to the entrance booth where we were supposed to pay for memberships and get the keys to our lockers. We were immediately greeted with a man with a bad attitude who pointed to my small thigh bag that I had, that was just big enough to carry a phone, poppers, small bottle of hand sanitizer, house keys and some breath mints, demanding I remove it before entering the premise, due to "a new rule prohibiting backpacks of any kind at the location." A blatantly nonsensical rule, considering they had a sign saying they ban backpacks but not grocery bags, or small duffel bags. We were still feeling optimistic about the trip so I decided it wasn't a tall order to just keep my thigh bag in the car I rode in on, and carry my phone, my wallet, my poppers, and some mints in my hands, and retry being admitted. The man with the bad attitude was fine enough at this point, perhaps seeming a bit disgruntled, but took my id, asked me what membership plan and locker type I wanted, I answered, he took my card, I paid, and made room for my friend to come and get his card checked and purchase his membership and locker... This is where shit hit the fan. He says "There's a problem with your card, it says you're female and we only allow memberships for men." My friend and I try to explain that he's actually a cisgender male, but the DMV for some reason, marked him down as a chick. He has a dick, was born with male chromosomes, and the full shablamo, but the asshole in the booth wouldn't hear none of it. He didn't care the extenuating circumstances of the situation, and when he said it was against the club's policy to make any exceptions, I asked to see his manager, and he point blank said "my manager would tell you the same thing." and denied us a conversation with him to sort this whole shit out. He point blank told me "Well your friend can't go in, but you got an 'M' on your ID, so you can go in. It was at this point that I was asking where on the website or on the premise this rule about having male legal documentation was present, looking around for even ONE sign saying what he was telling us. There were none. I was fed up and my friend, who was thoroughly embarrassed and ready to just give up and leave was trying to calm me down saying "It's no big deal." But it was. He was a man, designated male at birth, being told he couldn't enter a males only establishment because of an accidental "Female designation" on his drivers license. I asked for a refund. They attempted to try and deny me my refund saying all purchases are final, but I wasn't hearing it. I said "You WILL give me a refund after trying to deny my friend entry into this establishment, because I certainly will not be using this facility, and if you try to say no, I will demand to contact your manager, and I WILL get it from him. He reluctantly issued a refund after contacting his supervisor to alert him to the "situation" involving "young kids" Mind you I'm 23, and my friend is 19. We are NOT KIDS. We are tax paying, law abiding, MALE ADULTS, who this uppity jackhole wouldn't pay two seconds of time too. I got my money back and we left and went to do something else. My friend cried, saying he didn't mean to upset me. He didn't even think it was possible they'd deny him entry to the establishment, and didn't want me too get all angry on his behalf. HIS BEHALF. In pride month of all times, this GAY SPA had the audacity to try and gender check a fellow homosexual male. Despicable. Do not give your money to this institution. Do not use these facilities. I didn't step one foot inside to learn exactly what kind of selfish, bigoted, and unfriendly atmosphere this place would have. This policy, which was not listed on their website anywhere, nor posted anywhere in view, is blatantly transphobic, and even impacted my, again, very cisgender, penis owning, male chromosomes possessing male friend. Who wants to go to somewhere that actually cares about a kind of thing like that? Who wants to be under a microscope with their body like that!? Nobody should be policed like that, in a gay friendly establishment, and because we WERE subject to this behavior, I decided to make this review to let everyone know that if you've EVER had any kind thoughts towards someone lgbtqiaa, don't use this spa. look elsewhere or demand they change their exclusive policies. For me this is the the type of place that you have to go for yourself. sure you may feel like going with the friends but as long as there are established rules that people are allowed to play with others then sure bring them. no one is guaranteed to get laid but I am pretty sure someone will flirt with you from the pics the one in Cleveland looks like it would be the most fun and of course LA is going to either be full of studs but of course everything in Phoenix is a gamble especially with all these apps I believe that if you live by yourself and you don't want people at your house then this is the way to go. read more

It had been awhile since visiting this place, I have to say: it's had lots of changes since I was there last, of course prices have gone up, but amenities went way down. They used to have hot tea and hot coffee in the mornings. They no longer do that. They had a water machine, but no water. There used to be two computers where you could check emails, those are gone too, careful where you walk there are broken tiles throughout the building, even in the steam room, I couldn't tell if my room was clean or not because the sheets were stained with oil. The pool was dirty. I don't know when the last time they vacuumed it ,lots of dirt and dust in the pool. The hot tub has scum all over the top tiles. But I do have to admit the employees are very polite, friendly with good manners. (One more thing, the hot tub has a no smoking sign right next to the hot tub, less than 6 feet away is the smoking area, it's horrible, of course the smokers have no manners I won't be back because of that reason alone. read more

Where do I begin? We have never been treated with such distain or condescension. Before driving to the Pheonix location from Tucson, a 2 hour drive, we called to make sure they had the cleaning facilities we needed. We were assured they did. The next day, after paying $131.00 for 2 rooms, we discovered they did not have what they promised. After a 10 minute visit we asked for a refund. The clerk on duty refused, gave us the managers name to file a complaint the next day. After repeated calls the following morning it was made clear that no one knew when management would be in. We were lied to and have run into nothing but dead ends from this organization and its employees in an attempt to resolve the issue. It's a game of cat and mouse. If you should decide to do business with Flex Spas in Pheonix buyer beware. This is an unethical organization who appears not to care about the welfare or treatment of its patrons. I enjoy this place. The staff is friendly and it's always good time. However tonight a gentleman stole my phone. I set it down and when I came back to get it the phone was in his possession. It's the Google Pixel 4 on Google Fi which has not been released to geneneral market so it's an obvious phone to spot. I had a team member of flex double check the laundry before I questioned the other guest. The staff went above and beyond but unfortunately this place attracts a needy crowd. I have been to Flex since my last review.... My experience @Flex was one that is very good and enjoyable. The staff were quick to help me and with no hassle on top of that started out a great deal of respect and relief. I did not have my physical ID (they mail it to you in AZ) but I had the temporary one and got in with that. The facility met my standards and was well stocked. I had a small room and it was clean when I walked in, the fan worked great and it was just enough space to settle down in. Pool is amazing, hot tub (my favorite) was a hotspot that night and I met a very sexy guy who was inches away from having me directly below him , but at lass his friend who he came with blocked all chances of that happening. Still hit or miss but I at least did not feel like I wasted my money or that it could be spent better elsewhere. I enjoyed myself. read more

It is what it is. A bathhouse and spa aimed at gay men. It has its problems, pros and cons like any business. Though in the sport of being fair, I won't be unreasonable in my review. You do have to enter from a side road via the I-17 or 19th Avenue going northbound only. Look for the cactus or the glow of the linger of the neon light in the evenings and night. Parking looks like it's been expanded. I didn't park in the dirt lot, plenty of parking in the regular lot. Honestly I didn't ask if the dirt lot was for Flex, just assumed. There are cameras covering the lot in certain spots. To be safe don't leave valuables in your car to be on the safe side. There are many off duty cops who come so that's a one up, but don't risk it. You can get a locker, room, or rent a playroom. I rented a locker, put my backpack in easy enough. I changed out of my clothes and went about my way in the facility. Shower then steam room. There's a maze and a dark playroom if that suits you. I went to the shower, steam room, then the pool. Pool is saltwater, and warmed when it's busier which is very fun, why I choose here over chute. I was in town to tend to family who are remodeling, no hot water in their place. So I was in and out of here plenty over a couple days. The guys at the front were nice to me in the regard that instead of charging me the non-membership price, they consolidated how many days I had been there and gave me a month membership which did save me money since I was in and out 6 days in a row. So for guys going in and out like me, you should consider it. As for the clientele. That can vary, just like chute. Sometimes there's plenty of guys, sometimes there's a few. I went to just relax swim and clean up from my day. But others are more interested in causing trouble. There is a rumor going around that there was a syphilis outbreak and a bedbug infestation. Both of these rumors are false, made up by bitter prostitutes who were also selling meth, kicked out by management. Soliciting and drug dealing is not tolerated and will result in a permanent ban. If you see someone solicit for sex or sell drugs in the facility just tell an employee and they'll take care of it. Other than that, if you go to play or relax. Pretty fun place. Plus you're near the 17 and 10 so easy to get around if you miss go home or morning traffic. Have fun! read more

Wow, this place has really gone downhill since I last visited in late 2019. On a recent Saturday night, there was not even one working public toilet in the entire place. The only available vessel didn't flush, so you can imagine how nasty that got a few hours into the evening. Just as bad, the staff was playing hip-hop and dance "music" at extreme volume in the public areas of the facility. After a few minutes of that, I found it necessary to escape to the pool area in the courtyard just to get away from the deafening noise. After reading the reviews for Flex and the Chute I figured they were both a 50/50 chance of being a success. I was traveling and had an evening flight far to long from my check-out time for my AirBnb. When I called Flex, the gentlemen that answered was so pleasant and welcomed me to bring my luggage and confirmed that they would either store it or I could take it to my room, the option I preferred. When I arrived he was even more friendly and helpful. He immediately put my concerns to rest!! He showed me to my room, made sure everything worked properly and let me know he was there to answer any questions I had. It was a clean place as far as these places go. When I left the whole staff wished me farewell and invited me back which is an offer I will definitely be taking them up on! Thank you so much my new friends and I will see you again soon! It is a gay establishment with full nudity and private room, mazes, shower, sauna, steam room, gym. It is filled with men of all ages, sizes, colours, and attitudes. Lunch hours are great but generally you will connect with someone with similar attributes. They do offer specials during off hours, free wifi, computer terminals, mini-gym. Great place to relax but people need to know this is NOT the place to socialize because it will ruin the atmosphere for others because the spa etiquette should be imposed on patrons. Definitely a place to hang at if you just want to relax and get some sun or grab a sauna. For the most part, it is a clothing-optional facility. Street clothes are not allowed. A bath towel is provided to wrap up in, but I found it easier to wrap the towel over my shoulders and relax in the jacuzzi. I refer to the dark hallway as "Broadway", that takes one to back rooms that can be rented. Size of room from small to medium. There is also a viewing area, just off Broadway, with seating to watch adult movies (straight and gay). There is a mystery area in the back in the shape of a horseshoe. Completely dark, one feels their way to the seating area. Get comfortable and, well...just wait. Did I mention it's clothing-optional? The staff is one of the friendliest and customer oriented you'll find anywhere. They will go above and beyond to make sure your visit is a pleasant one. Larger rooms down a longer hallway that overlooks the pool. Do a perp walk and some doors are purposely left have open, to encourage friendliness. I have no problems there. I'm a nudist at heart and would rather give Flex my $$$ instead of Shangri La. It's closer to my residence and clientele closer to my age and background. It has been a while since I've been to Flex, but look forward to my next visit. One last observation, it is not for the weak at heart in some circumstances. read more

I took a friend of mine on Oct. 24, 2012 (Wed) to Flex for the evening. The "kid" at the front was very rude and uncaring. We managed to get through and I rented a large room with videos on TV. The quality of the videos were poor and you have only 3 selective channels you can choose from. The floor of the room was dirty, you could just feel it with your bare feet! The jacuzzi was not in working order that night, that's one of the reasons why I went to Flex! It was very dead that night and needless to say, we were very disappointed with the whole establishment, they certainly don't live up to their advertising.
