The guy at the front desk was incredibly off putting. I think it was the owner. Not friendly or welcoming AT ALL. I asked for a tour and he seemed annoyed, barely walking me through and pointing out baby weights for me while making further gendered assumptions. He assigned a specific section of the gym as "bro" and pointed me towards machines, a specific corner and to the baby weights. Perhaps he should use those himself, when he attends the therapy session he so dearly needs. I was pretty set on making this my home gym, but thank god I went for a tour first. I've been a member of this club since 2010, back when it was at a different location, and I have to say, Chris really knows how to run a gym. However, today I was disappointed, not because of Chris or his team, but because of some individuals who seem to have a poor, b!tchy attitude. Many of us long-time patrons consider this place our own, and we take pride in its cleanliness, quality equipment, and friendly atmosphere. So, if you're someone who complains a lot (we used to allow dogs until today, but due to a few complaints, I can't bring in the dog I'm training for a rescue), or if you don't know how to wipe down equipment or, for some reason, decide to put white chalk all over plates and machines (seriously, why chalk on a cable machine?), it might be better for you to find a different gym, maybe an Esporta (LA Fitness), which might be more suited to complainers and those who leave a mess. I really hope we don't lose the unique vibe and energy of this place. I am starting to feel like I'm being pushed out of MY gym. ‍ PS. We had an amazing, fun and friendly "therapy" dog that use to come with one of the trainers and now thanks to the Karen's, it is no more. I will miss those friendly eyes and zoomies. read more

Love this gym. I've been a member of large corperate gyms for years and rarely used my membership. I joined Tangible when I found out how close they are to my home. Met Chris, he showed me around, I immediately saw a difference. People were not on top of each other waiting on equipment. It's been 6 months since I've signed up, I've brought family and friends and started working out with Ben, our personal trainer. It's been nothing but a great experience and our health has been improving dramatically. I definitely recommend Tangible Wellness, I've read the negative reviews and all I can say is they are far from the truth. The staff is very friendly and billing is clear as daylight. Love this gym. I've been coming on and off for a few years now (I move around for work). This is my favorite gym hands down. It's the kind of gym where you pretty much know everybody. Mike the GM is awesome. Super friendly. The front desk is always welcoming and nice. It's convenient to buy energy drinks etc. as they have your card on file. It's always spotless, super clean, never overcrowded. They have great equipment whether you're looking for cardio or weight lifting. They have a separate room with a few bags for boxing if you're into that. Just overall a 10/10 gym. I moved to Hawaii but I like this place so much I purchased a temporary membership while visiting for the holidays because it's totally worth it. I have been working out at this gym for 2 weeks and absolutely love it! The gym is very clean, well maintained (all the equipment is in working order) and it's never extremely busy because the amount of memberships are regulated. My previous gym always and I mean always had broken down equipment for weeks (big box gym) and everyone was packed in there like sardines and could barely move and made working out completely not enjoyable. I wish I would have known about Tangible Fitness sooner. Kudos to this gym and team for an excellent and successful business model. More gyms should follow your lead! read more

I am a member of this gym. The environment is friendly and encouraging. Not like the mega gyms that treat you as a number. I am really sad to see it suffer the same consequences for all the other gyms who have not taken social distancing, masks and cleanliness seriously. Pryor to the most recent closure, the owner and staff were taking all CDC and ADHS guidelines very seriously and following all reopening protocols that Governor Ducey originally set forth. I am wondering if the people who are bashing Tangible Fitness bothered to educate themselves regarding the changes the gym made to keep its members safe and healthy. I highly doubt it. The owner blocked off every other machine and socially distanced all equipment being used, he established an application that a member had to use to sign up ahead of time to work out. A set number of members were allowed into the gym for a 90-minute session. After a member's session was over, they were required to leave, the doors were locked and all of the equipment, surfaces, bathrooms, etc. were sanitized thoroughly, before the next session began. All group activities were canceled. Masks were required for everyone and there was visible signage everywhere stating this. When the second mandate for closure occurred, the owner tried (unsuccessfully) to invite local authorities to wittness the compliance taking place and the mandates he was upholding for his members. Gov. Ducey's office never responded. On a personal level, I am taking COVID-19 very seriously. I have been wearing a mask in public since day one. I care for my elderly, compromised father and therefore must stay healthy and keep him healthy. I never felt compromised while working out. I never encountered anyone at the gym who was not taking the guidelines seriously. The sad thing is people lump all gyms together. I understand they are the number one place for covid contact but there should have been some kind of checks and balances for places who were obeying guidelines and going overboard to comply and keep people healthy. By far the best gym in the Phoenix Valley. It's clean, open, never busy, and people are there to workout and not chat. It's got everything you need, plus some extra fun equipment. If you dislike big box gyms because they get overly crowded, people have no gym etiquette, throwing weights, leaving messes, not wiping up sweat, etc etc, then you'll love Tangible, because it's the exact opposite. My credit card expired and I got charged a fee for it, but when I brought in my new card and showed what had happened the owner and front desk were kind enough to refund me and update my info. Honestly, Tangible Fitness is the best gym that I've ever attended. The only reason I'm leaving is because I'm moving cross country. Here are a few reasons why I LOVE this gym and will miss it dearly. 1. Pre/Post COVID they were the cleanest and most organized gym I've been to. After COVID, they went above and beyond and prioritized the health and safety of their members by instituting gym times which allowed "gym times" which only allowed 30 persons at a time, thorough cleaning between "gym times", mandatory face masks, additional wipes/disinfectant sprays that were constantly topped up and they even changed their HVAC system to help clean the air. If that isn't top notch service I really don't know what is. Bathrooms, open stretch area, equipment etc are also regularly cleaned/maintained. 2. The price is great. They raised their fees during COVID from $30/mo to $35/mo but that's honestly so worth it because they are awesome and they also explained that they are moving towards a more boutique gym than a regular fitness center and therefore reducing their max membership capacity. They also charge about $2.50 (+/- but not surpassing $5) quarterly which goes towards buying new equipment/improvements. They post on their social media every quarter what that fee goes towards and also posts it on the TVs in the gym. No initiation/cancellation fees (fees still apply within 3 days of cancellation so if you get billed regularly on the 15th and the cancel on the 12th-14th you'll still get charged which isn't a big deal for me seeing that they don't have a 30 day notice policy or cancellation fee) 3. Equipment is new and well maintained. They swap out bars/fittings for different machines when they are worn out as well. When machines are due for service they put up a sign with the service date so you know when it will be back in commission. 4. Last but not least, the staff is amazing. Groceries, salons, restaurants, retail places like....home depot, are open and many others... Gym owners deserve to feed their families too! I went to this gym when they were allowed to open in May and there was an great amount of cleaning being done and extreme social distancing time slots. They were ethically handling the challenges before them. Shame on those of you shaming people wanting to engage in the economy so that they don't lose their life savings and businesses and HEALTH. This place is doing what it needs to do to protect customers and allow them to build their health and immune system in this 110 degree summer heat where we are all locked in side like unhealthy bums and for that it gets 5 stars! I'm leaving at the end of this week and wanted to cancel my gym membership before I leave because I was just charged for another month 6 days ago. I went into the gym this morning and the worker told me I would have to pay an annual fee to be reinstated for the week... no thanks. Tangible has nice equipment. However, their staff leaves something to be desired. The main worker has screwed up on my billing twice and on my girlfriend's billing as well. Usually, when a company makes a mistake, they make it up to you - but not Tangible. They seem apathetic and display arrogance. Make sure you check your credit card if you sign up for just one month, as they will likely set you up for recurring monthly billing instead. Tangible needs to step it up with their staffing, organization, policies, and attitudes. Until then, I recommend you find somewhere else to train. read more

I came here for two days in a row by purchasing their guest pass. By far, this is the best gym I have ever been too. It beats the gym I am currently a member at in Los Angeles and any other gym in Arizona, even the gyms on campus at GCU. When I come back to school in August, I will be buying a membership here and driving 14 miles round trip six days a week just to train here. Absolutely love this gym! Having be going for over a year and could not be happier. I am early raiser so finding a gym that opens at 430 isn't always easy but is a requirement. The gym has a good number of treadmills and most of the equipment anyone would need. What is especially important is the fact that they have 2 squat racks and 2 smith machines, plenary of benches and bells up to 150. The gym gets busy from time to time but never so over crowded that you can't get on the machine you need. Trainers and staff are friendly and truest help make the whole vibe of the gym just a good time. CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS GYM ENOUGH! read more

They also have a nice water filtration system for your water bottles. However if you don't bring one they have a fridge chock full of whatever you may need to get that sweat on! Wow! Beautiful gym, amazing customer service. I live out of town and just wanted to find a gym for the weekend. Now I'm sad I can't come here everyday. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The gym is extremely clean and set up well. The equipment is all up to date and works wonderfully. Their tanning beds are very high quality. And their day passes are not ridiculous like some major corporate gyms. If you are local or even passing through I highly recommend this gym (and I am a gym rat and a huge gym snob). Bait and Switch Scam - I strongly suggest going elsewhere: I spoke with the owner of the gym prior to joining because I didn't want to join another gym to not be able to use it a week or two later because of the COVID-19 issue. He assured me that it would be "business as usual unless he receives a court order forcing them to close". Today, not two weeks later, I go in to workout and am told that all members must schedule their workout time in advance for a maximum of minutes per day, in predetermined windows due to social pressure and increased cost in paper towels - paper towel cost guys, really? Like many people, my work/life schedule does not permit knowing exactly what time works for me to workout days in advance within the decreased hours of operation at Tangible Fitness. Even if I do schedule it on my calendar, like the rest of you, I have work meetings constantly shifting. Upon speaking with the owner about his previous promise and how this change does not work for people like me, in lieu of working to find a solution that works for more people, he just starts closing my account. I suggest there are better options to handle the social pressure and spreading the one time in the evening (when I don't workout anyway) they experience an influx of members in their gym. During such conversation the GM - not part of this conversation - chimes in that "at this point it's [my membership and satisfaction with their services and lack of integrity] is not worth it.". Meaning: We don't want to work on an alternative solution and would rather just lose your business. "You're just one person" and "it doesn't really matter" because they already have other people speaking up about their poor business practices is a terrible approach to resolving customer issues and sustaining, let alone growing business. I started the conversation to express my concerns and to elicit and even help find a better solution. I left the conversation upset, disappointed, and a strong demoter and opponent of the gym and it's leadership (or lack thereof). The gym itself has just enough equipment to be able to get a full workout in for each body part if you know what you're doing, not new and not too old. The ceilings are quite low and HVAC generally set too warm without ceiling fans making it an uncomfortable workout environment. Other smaller things like only one working sink in the men's room and confined quarters with poor air circulation for health and temperature remediation make it a less than adequate place to workout. They also don't have hand sanitizer dispensors placed throughout the gym to help keep cross-contamination down - LA Fitness and Mountainside Fitness both have these even before the COVID-19 outbreak. Add to this the terrible customer service and it's not worth the drive time, let alone monthly, quarterly, and sign-ups fees ($20 for autodraft). Skip Tangible and go elsewhere. There are much better options out there. read more

This place is near my home and I am more of a "guilt" member than a daily visitor. I joined when the place first opened and have the basic membership. The place is definitely an asset to the local community and enhances the quality of life in the area. The 4 stars are because of the smoking area near the entrance to the building and because a few pieces of the equipment are not in top condition. The floor is divided up thoughtfully. There is a nice sitting area with a couch and a work station table with charging outlets. A chef service is available and one can order food online and pick it up at the gym from a refrigerator next to the work table. I use the heavy punching bag, a feature not seen in many gyms that are not boxing oriented. I like that the free weight section is in a separate room from the machines that I use. I usually spend about an hour for my visit and I go at various times late morning and early afternoon with my wife and notice that the place never seems crowded. There are a good number of older patrons like myself. I appreciate that the staff is not pushy or intrusive. The music volume in the gym is perfect; loud enough to cover the background noise and not so loud that it overcomes my earbuds. The locker rooms are very nice, spotless, and the showers feature superior quality fixtures with the multi-function shower heads mounted high, so the taller patrons don't have to duck down. There is a free towel service with hand towels and bath towels. read more
