Just hearing the mechanics complaining about the customers while I was picking up my equipment was enough. The service manager actually has a set of rules standing on a plexiglass holder on his desk that says " Customers will be charged for asking questions, and if you sit in a chair you will be charged for therapy". That little joke should tell you everything you need to know about how they feel about their customers.

Management told me that it is due to market changes and that my unit is in "prime real estate", when it comes to storage. Although, many storage facilities increase their rates after a certain period of time, it typically is not more than 10-15%. CubeSmart offers low rates/promos to new customers and then slowly increases their rates as they see fit. This is a deeply flawed business strategy. It is shady business... in not being upfront about rate increases and the impact it has on people who plan to stay long term. I feel like I have been scammed... it wasnt until I did a deep dive into MULTIPLE storage facilities, throughout Tyler, that I realized CubeSmart has a misleading and flawed way of doing business. My advice, do your homework and ask for details in rate increases because if you plan to rent long term... CubeSmart is going to rip you off and you can't do anything about it because, "it was stated in your lease agreement"... I have paid $200 for the past 6 months before I had time to research other facilities. The fact of the matter is, CubeSmart is literally the ultimate worst when it comes to cheating customers... at least in Tyler. Not all storage facilities follow this shady style of business... I have found a handful of well kept, safe, secure and climate controlled facilities that do NOT believe in scamming their patrons. CubeSmart needs and should do a better job in being upfront with rates so that customers feel taken care of and not taken advantage of. My cousin's dog apparently decided that the pet supply aisle was the perfect place to bring new life into the world, and honestly, she committed to the bit. One minute we were browsing; the next, it was an emergency "clear the space" situation, and suddenly Tractor Supply became the most unexpected maternity ward in Texas. To their credit, the staff handled it like absolute pros. What could've been chaotic was actually kind of heartwarming. Employees jumped in to help, gave us space, and somehow kept things calm as tiny puppies made their grand entrance. There's something surreal about hearing newborn puppy squeaks echoing through a store that usually smells like feed and hay. Customers nearby went from confused to fully invested in about 30 seconds. It turned into a wholesome little crowd moment for sure. By the end of it, everyone was okay, the puppies were adorable, and my cousin now has one wild story that no one will believe without proof. Overall, 10/10 experience great service, unforgettable atmosphere, and bonus puppies. Wouldn't recommend planning your dog's delivery here, but if it happens...apparently you're in good hands.

My wife, my son, and I went into one of your locations yesterday around 1pm. There was only 1 rep that we could see (Melanie) and she was helping another guest. No problem there, we are very patient. I did find it odd that she did not at least acknowledge that we were there, but that's ok too. The problem lies in how she treated my 5 year old son. She does NOT have the right to yell across the store at my son! "Get your shoes off the bed!" My son quickly moved and began to cry, thinking he did something horrible. He wasn't jumping on the bed, he wasn't treating anything poorly. He just laid down on the side of the bed. Just like the guest that Melanie had been helping, she too laid on that exact bed, and YES, that guest had her shoes on too! Nevertheless if the policy is "no shoes on the bed" then your associate should treat ALL guests the same or have it Posted somewhere in the store. My little boy didn't deserve to get yelled at and scared by some random adult he doesn't know, especially when his parents are in visual sight of Melanie. I'm hoping this is an isolated event and that she doesn't treat all people bad. I won't be back to that store and like I said, I'm looking for a new company if this is how your reps are going to treat people.
