I bought my Mini from Auto Nation and I liked my salesman but that's it, I bought a tire and wheel warranty from Auto nation but the warranty is serviced here. They always get me right in and they are really courteous. They have good coffee and they wash and vacuum my car. I'm very happy to give them my business. read more

Oh man Oh man where do i begin? first off....f all of them. Well, i took my car in knowing beforehand it had issues. I opted for the mandatory diagnostic fee of 170.00 (high AF of course) to see what else may be wrong with the car. Well, the quote they came back with was well over $7,000. The main issue was a timing chain. Anyhwere else, this job costs $1200-1400. BUUUUT of course at good ol' Mini they quoted that job at $3,000 parts online total $250, i got charged over 1K. also, the car was overheating and thermostat housing was supposedly "bad"....it isnt. They were trying to charge $980 to change that. Parts online cost $80....at MINI? $600. the system needed to be bled of air, and it needed oil. hasnt overheated since.. Another scam is that my oil filter housing is bad and leaking....it isnt. Just had oil from the last change all over the bottom of car, But they wanted $1400 to fix that when parts are only $75. greedy tech labor costs. I have NO OIL LEAKS whatsoever! When they did my timing chain....all kinds of bolts were missing becuase i did a belt change myself (they wanted $300...belt costs $10) and found where they took stuff off, but never put tuff back on. Finally, i need 6 new shifter solenoids. These are $200 to buy...buuuuuut good ol MINI says that "you CANNOT just replace the solenoids...you have to buy the ENTIRE valve body...its only $3200!!" GTFOH BIH! YES, YOU CAN replace JUST the solenoids! Look online! They are SCAMMERS to the HIGHEST degree! read more

Took new purchase in for warranty repair. Was told extravagant lies to buy time. 6 days later my wife picked up the x5 after having the power steering pump and lines replaced. She was given this long explanation that they detailed the entire engine compartment and it was a real mess to clean up. ( we haven't even had this purchase a week) Well my wife backs it into our driveway and we find a power steering river again. I've purchased two cars from this place now and the experience has been efficient, stress-free and overall fantastic both times. I never thought I'd say that about a car dealership before but I really mean it. I didn't come in for a Mini Cooper. Those cars are stupid. I ended up here the first time because I saw a used car I liked on the Royal dealership website that just happened to be here. So I came in and walked out with a silver Hyundai that I loved. But to truly understand how awesome this place is I have to tell you the story of the second purchase. So strap in, get comfy, check the mirrors (but don't backseat drive!) as I take you on a journey with me. No, we can't stop again, I just stopped so you could pee fifteen minutes ago, just go in that cup, we should've been there an hour ago! Anyhoozle, my silver Hyundai got totaled. (Not my fault.) I can't go without a car at my job and I desperately needed to get my hands on some wheels. In a panic I went back to Mini of Tucson because I didn't have anywhere else to turn and the familiarity was like a warm embrace letting me know that everything was gonna be okay. And it was. I spoke with Sam Rodriguez about needing a car and worrying that it was gonna cost me a fortune. I gave him a few parameters on what I was looking for in terms of miles and my monthly budget. This is when I should mention that the Royal dealership employees don't work on commission. They're on salary. So I wasn't talked into anything I didn't want and didn't get the up-sell on any gaudy luxury vehicle I didn't need. I even asked Sam if I should get a new car and he said that with all the ridiculous fees I'd end up over budget. He talked me OUT OF IT! I was honestly expecting to walk out with some lame buggy that the ladies would laugh at like I was hanging out the passenger side of my best friend's ride while trying to holla at them but Sam pointed me toward a genuinely nice whip that fit perfectly within my budget. He crunched the numbers and gave me an exact monthly payment amount. I've heard stories from friends who've gone to other dealerships saying their monthly payment amounts change from one minute to the next or they don't get a straight answer. I even got different options. I saw a printout that told me how much my payment would be with no money down, $200 down, $500 down, etc. And that price I agreed to was the exact amount I now pay every month without tricks or BS fees. A couple of friends told me their experiences with lesser dealerships were nowhere near that easy. Car salesmen and women are awful people. They will trick you or pressure you or straight up lie. But not these folks. So when I'm ready to upgrade my ride to something that's not a Mini Cooper because those cars are stupid I know who I'll call. read more

We were very satisfied with our recent purchase of a used SUV through Mini of Tucson. The purchase itself was handled smoothly and there were no surprises. We must mention Simone, who was our sales agent. She was professional, informative, and personable. She really made our experience stress-free, and we really liked her. We should add that we had the car home for a few days and could not start the car due to battery issues. This dealer honored the 6,000 mile warranty, and even came to our home, picked up the car, and left us a loaner (Simone personally facilitated this!). A brand new battery was quickly installed, at no cost to us. In addition, the dealer provided us with an extra key to the car which was not available on the purchase date. I have had nothing but issues with my mini that is still under warranty and the service department doesn't seem to care and or want to follow up on anything. They do not call you back, I had to call four times in one day to just get someone on the phone. Although there was one mix-up on a BMW financing technicality which led to a re-negotiation, he actually came back with a better deal. That was the right thing to do to build loyalty. I was so disappointed with my experience with the Royal car dealership. I saw a car that I wanted and the deal happened very quickly. My sales person even drove it from Tucson to Phoenix to me that same day. I was assured that i had a 3 day money back guarantee. 2 week fix what we needed if needed 2000 mile warrantee from this family owned company. Well my sales gal Simone Sesler was supposed to arrive at 5pm and didn't arrive until 5:45. I had to extend my nanny so I could test drive with her and sigh all the paperwork. By that time it was already dusk. The person picking her up was waiting about 15min away so I offered to drive her to them since i had my new car. The next day, when I was able to take a closer look at he car, in the daylight, I noticed: 1. Scratched on the hood 2. Dirt in the rubber where the convertible roof latches. 3. The display for the navigation system had splotches over it making it difficult to see. I brought these items to the dealerships attention ASAP on Jan 6th and even sent very high resolution pictures so they could see it too. Simone told me I would have to talk to Eddie and cc'ed him on the email. Eddie left me a message when I was at work on Jan 8th and I followed up again. Jan 9th Simone emailed me and CC'ed Eddie asking me to call him despite my request for him to email me. and waited two days for a reply from Eddie, the manager on Jan 8th. He told me that I needed to drive the car down to Tucson for then to see. On Jan 9th I received this message from Eddie:Hello Danielle,   I was talking with Simone and she was saying something about a re detail , some scratches that need to be buffed and a smudge on the screen.   I'll be glad to buff the scratches and re clean the car the next time you are down here in Tucson. Unfortunately I do not have any facilities as part of our company in Phoenix. The smudge on the screen I'm not sure if it will wipe off but again would need to see it. I replied two hours later with, "Eddie,  That isn't helpful. I don't go to Tucson, ever. I also can't take a day off work and sit down there waiting for the car. I was also assured that if I purchased from far away that you would do what needed to be done from afar to help out.  DId you see the pictures I sent? I would be happy to send more if you would like. I mean I basically bought a car sight unseen from you and even signed off on the odometer readings being miles that weren't even driven by me.  I would like you, in good faith, to take care of these minor items. Had I purchased the car down there, I would have requested the same thing.  This isn't leaving me with a good feeling for your family-owned company. "and received no response. Again. So on the 11th I emailed Eddie again: "Eddie, I'm highly dissatisfied at how this matter is being handled.  I wanted to let you know first I'll be going to the owner of your company and posting my impression with choosing to buy a car from your company.  At this point, the delay in response and lack of ability to rectify this situation leaves me regretting doing a deal with you.  "Never ever got a response. This contradicted what I was assured when questioning buying a car from far away. Simone told me that the mini dealership closest to me would help but that I would have to contact Royal first. I was so appalled at the lack of concern, response, and action.... I would have expected this from a big box dealership but not a locally family owned. I was visiting family when my engine light came on. I already had my Mini in the dealer service in Willoughby June and El Paso three days ago where nothing was detected except a bad battery in El Paso when my battery was brand new. They also told me I needed 3 hrs of consult to diagnose for $1400. Willoughby OH did not detect any issues either even though warning lights had been blaring for months. Meanwhile, the warranty expires and now I am in Tucson, 6 mos later. They calmed my nerves, and were kind enough to honor warranty. They were understanding, caring and competent. They made sure I was safe on the trip back to Las Cruces. All repaired, runs great! If you ever need a car, please strongly consider Mini of Tucson! How often can you find honesty in car repairs? We have two MINIs and that means we visit MINI of Tucson a bit more than the average person. Additionally, as a "car guy", I try to temper my evaluation of an automotive services businesses with realistic expectations. MINI of Tucson makes a valiant effort given that within the stable of the Royal Automotive dealerships, their MINI franchise feels/appears to be the neglected stepchild. The Service Staff: Five Stars (Excellent) The service department are friendly, knowledgeable and strive hard to insure that a customer with reasonable expectations (after all, not everyone has reasonable expectations) leaves satisfied and happy. I have left satisfied and happy on every one of my visits, as has my lovely wife. Unfortunately, my wife's car had to make two visits, on two separate occasions, for two different issues and my "car guy" instincts tell me that we'll be returning yet again for one of these issues. Nevertheless, the customer facing staff have always been the best, always. Sales: Three Stars (Average) Sadly, the sales person from whom we bought both our cars is no longer there. If ever there were a five-star-plus sales person, a true joy to work with, a person for whom forging relationships and ensuring your happiness and comfort were utmost, he was it. However, the realities of numbers based sales pressures supplant quality human interactions and the volume gods asked him to leave. While the sales staff may tout the fact that they are not on commission, quotas are quotas and the numbers for each month must be met. That said, the sales staff there are really no worse than any other dealership; they need a paycheck like the rest of us and therefore they must sell you a car. Overall: Four Stars (Very Good, but Room For Improvement) There is a subculture associated with owning MINI that is global, and quirky, and happy, and fun. And it knows no demographic boundary. Spotting those that embrace this "MINI Lifestyle" is easy; their car will be personalized is some way. Sometimes subtle, sometimes not so much (my wife's is subtle, mine is less so). MINI of Tucson seems only aware of this in a passing sense. Other MINI dealers around the country (though, not all) encourage and foster this culture among those who participate. They themselves participate. Doing so builds a deep loyalty among local MINI owners that translates to the bottom-line in terms of service and support. This is verifiable by chatting with any MINI owner that displays a "MTTS" sticker on their car (and ask them also what their car's name is, they'll be pleased and excited to tell you!) They have in the past partnered with a local MINI club, but there are many others for whom larger, less structured communities (like LXM and LXM-AZ) provide to the need. MINI of Tucson would be well served to lever more widely into the MINI culture. It would increase the fun factor for the MINI enthusiast, and differentiate them from the more generic-car-dealer feeling that currently permeates their presence. I'll continue to take our MINIs (Ling Ling and Alec) to MINI of Tucson. Short on time, I explained that I would be back tomorrow to sign papers and drive it away. The paperwork was not ready and they would not give me the keys until I had proof that it was insured. Being a transplant, I've found that when it comes to warranties on car maintenance.., dealerships always seem to side step questions on what's covered and what's not. Case in point, this past year I've brought my car in twice for basic service and "wear and tear" only to "talked down to" by my service rep who always has a short cut when I ask prices and what's needed. I love the language he used my last visit "oh, you have a newer tech working on your car... so your getting a cost break." WTF?!? Is this why I am now spending well over a Grand because your certified new tech overlooked cracks in my belts, a crack in my radiator along with my pump? Wow. Plus I find it suspicious that my warranty just expired after my last visit and all of a sudden within months I have these issues. Silly me for trusting in a corporation that I've been loyal to for close to 20 years. Mini NO MORE thanks to the dishonesty of Mini of Tucson. I purchased a car from Royal Mini on 11/15/19 and was amazed at the car buying experience. The salesperson was Thomas and he was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. He handled the entire transaction from start to finish and there was no handing me off from one person to another person higher up in the ladder during negotiations of the out the door price. Apparently this is the rule of thumb with the Royal dealerships, which is outstanding. I also was looking for the mini base models and the only carry the mini S model over all, I say I was there for 2 hours before they told me I would have to buy above my budget for a Pre own mini that I did not want. There was no numbers games when it came to putting together the final numbers. I buy cars way more than I should and knew exactly what I was looking for. The salesperson, Sam Rodriguez, stayed focused on my concerns and requests and didn't focus on aspects that I didn't care about as many salespeople and dealerships do. I was very specific about how I wanted to be contacted and that I did not want phone calls and they easily honored my request. I never once felt like I was being pushed or pressured at all. Great experience. I came in with the intention of seeing what my trade in value would be on my 2010 Mini Convertible and came out with a 2016 Mini hard top. The trade in value was fair given some work that needed to be done. Sam Rodriguez was our salesman, very personable, courteous and did not pressure a sale at all. Joe Sullivan the General Sales Manager was also very friendly and helpful. We were able to get financing which beat the rates at the Credit Union. At the end when we were getting ready to sign the paperwork we were given several options for extended warranties and other packages, but again it was no pressure, if you didn't want any of it fine. I did NOT buy a Mini, but I didn't go in for a Mini. I went in to see one of their pre-owned trade-ins I saw on their website which was super well priced. I felt welcome from the moment I drove on to the lot and not pressured by anyone which is a huge plus considering I completed this process alone. I saw the car, test drove the car (which was super fun) and purchased the car. I had been driving a rental and Aaron, my Motoring Advisor, drove the car to the rental agency so I could drop it off and drive home in my new car.
