Service was marginal at best in that we had to request napkins, tableware, straws, etc. Drinks were served as requested. Kitchen was VERY SLOW with individual orders not complete when served. None of the food was hot. The real kicker was the 18% gratuity automatically added onto the tab. A discussion with several employees explaining that they had limited staff and kitchen supplies had risen in cost and this was their way of keeping the business open. Terrible experience our server forgot about us and kept making excuses on why she was gone from the table for such long periods of time. I don't understand how she is even in the service industry. So if you come to this location stay clear of Chelsea's section you'll probably starve to death. We complained to the manager they gave us another server but he was just as lost! Although the lighting made it seem more like a club. My salad "soup" was topped with lettuce and saturated with ginger dressing. (should have requested dressing on the side) The udon i I ordered was satisfactory, if that... The other diners (9 of them) all had similar reviews... Not sure how you can mess up fried rice, but they did. Other complaints included greasy vegetables... the Hibatchi was less than satisfactory... my husband said the sushi was "ok". On top of the food issues, the slow, dull service made the experience a sad one. The automatic 18% gratuity angered me after hours of waiting, no refills and a little bit of attitude. read more

Went on a Sunday evening for dinner around 5. Ordered the tuna tartare for appetizer with red rainbow roll ....And chicken teriyaki for dinner. Also at the table had a sushi combo a sushi dinner special and steak and shrimp teriyaki. Everything was amazing ! I highly recommend this restaurant . The trash cans were completely full with feminine products and other unsanitary items. There was overflow and trash was on the floor. One of the toilets was clogged with tissue and urine. I had my birthday dinner there on November 1. I am literally so disappointed. I called three days before booking a reservation for 14 people. My party arrived at 8:30 PM and there was already water at the table. My waitress neglected us the whole time. No one got drinks besides the water that was on the table. The first thing she asked us for was food not appetizers or drinks selections. After about 45 minutes the Sushi and side salads came out then less than five minutes later the actual entrees came. Three peoples food was cold and when we warned the waitress she just said ok and walked away. We had to flag her down again to ask her about the food and then she said she would talk to her manager. The manager had an attitude as well. She didn't wanna switch our plates out so she asked if she could bring us extra chicken to put on top. It was a whole bunch of unprofessionalism going on and on top of that the waitress messed up everybody's order. She literally mixed up everybody's orders and some had to be fixed after they had already paid and had the nerve to add an 18% gratuity when she barely even catered to us. I came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We came here for dinner and we were seated at the bar instead of the tables with comfortable chairs because it was crowded and it was a Friday night. We were starving so we didn't really mind until we learned that there was only one lady taking orders for every customer at the bar. In order for us to order something we had to call her several times or she would forget. However, she was trying her really best and gave us free miso soups. So one extra star for that! My favorite meal was the Yakidon. It's enough to share with someone and it was very tasty. We also ordered two sushi plates and they were also good but I would say Doraku is 10 times good. We began our meal with a mixed seafood app. The flavor was good but the chopped pieces of octopus were especially tough to chew. We also felt like it needed rice, bread, or cracker to be served with it as it was a large pile of chopped seafood. Seems like it needed a starch to hold it. We ordered the chef's choice sushi. Caught hosts and a bartender making rude remarks about a guest in my group. They walked onto the deck to smoke and several staff pointed at my friend and one remarked, "oh, you mean her big a--?" Im a combat veteran and about had a flashback on that bartender. Management was informed, it took a lot of effort to get him to resolve the issue. After being asked, the staff came over and apologized. This was not to get free food. We paid our bills and tipped our waiter properly. This poor behavior is unfortunately what our society has become. Even outside patrons that were inside made remarks about her. Well they are hiring servers and chefs. Maybe things are getting better. Our waiter was really good. We went for happy hour and got 1/2 off sushi and apps. The food took a while to get to us but we were not in a hurry. The floor was kinda sticky as well as our table kinda sticky too. Not a big thing though. Maybe if they read this they can fine tune things. Actually it was kinda loud with a party going on across the room. I was kinda shocked at the high prices. It's a good thing we got half off. He picked the breading of and ate the dry chicken cutlet. My shrimp noodles were flavorless, the sauce looked watered down and the veggies were not grilled like they usually are. It was awful and I could not eat it. The server did offer to order another dish, but I told her I didn't want to wait that long twice. She later returned and told me the manager was discounting my meal. Never did see the manager. Received the check.... discounted $6 off of an $11.99 dish that was inedible. Not too happy. My husband and I met a few friends of ours here for dinner on a Friday night. I was surprised we didn't have to wait to be seated but we were able to walk right in and get a table immediately. There was also a special from 5 to 7pm to get 3 sushi rolls (from a specific list) for $10. They were mostly simple rolls on the specific list but a good deal none the less. Unfortunately, once we ordered it kind of went down hill from there. Even though we ordered sushi as part of the main course we received the sushi about 20 minutes before we received the generals and fried rice. Also, the generals we ordered was not generals - we couldn't figure out what exactly we had gotten instead but half of the chicken on the plate was also undercooked. I blame this on the service we received. We barley saw our waiter and when we did see him he would very quickly stop at our table only to tell us our food wasn't ready yet.
